Finding loopholes and what not. You know, I have asked people here multiple times to define a tax "loophole" and nobody has responded....
I have many times. It's a misnomer used to describe any inconsistency in tax code that lowers liabilities for a specific purpose or construction. A shell corporation in Ireland buying a US company so they can shift profits to overseas tax havens is often called a loophole, even if it's more literally just exploiting the system. Except that the US company or Ireland owners still have to pay US income tax derived from US source income. There is just an additional tax credit available called the Foreign Tax Credit, which, even if I gave you the broadest of explanations, it would be beyond you.
But it is not a loophole as it is in the tax code. It is not an inconsistency as it is spelled out perfectly fine for anyone who wishes to look it up.

I can't wait for Kara and Pleebo to come here and give their own little and incorrect definitions of subsidies and tax credits. Without providing basis for those definitions either.

Sorry.
"I've yet to see a fracking benefit (for the vast majority of Pennsylvanians)."
It meant it to be implied. Thought maybe it would be given the rest of my language. Clearly it wasn't.
Mea culpa x3.

Nooooo. I LIKE the ducks.
I can't help it that (after further cursory research) that apparently nearly all duck reproduction is through the perpetration of rape.

Lindsay Lohan sounds likely an extremely inefficient familiar to summon for vengeance.

the argument is. a handout, by any other name, is still a handout.
and the answer to the obvious question, "then why doesn't obama use his magic pen to wipe out all the bad handouts" is the economy will go kablooie!

Too many limitations. You can be fully qualified to receive the tax credit and still be denied.

Because if you cut the handouts to the people willingly not working and just taking government money, and then cut the handouts to the people trying to get the government to pay for as much of their business as possible so they can keep all their money...
...well then the government would just have too much *** money. They'd have to pay off the debt, and we just can't have that.

fracking saved ohio and pennsylvania's (and several other states and some would argue the economy) collective *** in such a profound manner that nobody feels comfortable even admitting it.

I have yet to see a business actively pursuing tax credits or "handouts" like what you describe....
I won't deny that there are companies out there who can do the research on tax credit benefits for businesses, but even then, there aren't that many that a company can take in one year. The credits generally cancel each other out, and the amount of the credit is generally added to taxable income before it is removed from total tax owed. Kindof like a reverse deduction.

Sorry. I admit not just talking taxes here. Look at groups like Walmart who underpay their employees to the point of being poverty level, so instead the government gives them food assistance...that in turn gets spent at Walmart.
Whatever. Like I said, I'm arguing for the sake of argument at this point, I guess. Doesn't matter. Nothing's going to change based on any discussions we have here.

Yet the state government still wants to cut cut cut cut cut from everyone and everything, but not put real taxes on the gas extraction companies.
At what point is selling the future short turning into "screwing people over now"? When you're cutting state funding to vital jobs and programs now...

Their employees are being paid for the skills they have, which is none. I don't think that they are doing anything wrong in their pay scale, but their employee retention practices aren't exactly gold standard.
Best way to change it? Don't shop at Walmart. I don't.

Easier said than done. When you live rural/sub-rural, often times it's the only place to get some things. Which really burns my ***, but this is where my job is. I go there as little as possible.
Doesn't help that all of the regional/local options are pretty terrible too.

Who is forcing you to shop or work for Wal Mart ?
People still buy EA games and they are far worse than Wal Mart.

HEB has most everything I would ever need from Walmart. If I want movies or electronics, I rather go to Best Buy before Walmart. And Best Buy in SA sucks too! (I'm a Bjorn's man)
Actually, I can't think of anything I can't get at HEB....
