Try to self-evaluate whether your gear is adequate enough for certain events. For example, if your lacking in macc on BRD, and a crucial tactic in a given battlefield is to be able to land lullabies, then pass on going to that battlefield until you think you're ready. Check to see if you can land elegies/lullabies on mobs in Ra'Kaznar or Woh Gates.

I would assume everyone always has inventory issues, but be sure to have things like holy waters, remedies, echo drops, reraise items (scroll, earrings, etc), vile elixirs, and panaceas if you can afford them. I carry all of said items with me in my mog sack and pull them out when needed. Remedies and echo drops can be bought from Leillaine in Upper Jeuno in the Infirmary, right next to the AH home point (#3).

Holy water is ***. But if you want to use this ***, make sure to use with 2x blenmots ring +1. Otherwise, bring a whm with cursna set. Capped in cursna gear, the proc rate should be around 40%, whats more than enough to survive doom.

As much as I love BGwiki, I must resort to regular wiki for a lot of older things. BGwiki is great for newer content (less than 10 months old), but older content (like where to get a Smn. testimony) is best served on regular wiki. :(

Regular wiki is also waaaaay better when I need ads with autoplaying videos.

Even cursna isn't 100% successful even with a perfect set, holy/hallowed waters help reduce the likely hood that you`ll die from doom. WHM can't cursna every DD that gets hit with doom.

Tips on sucking less.

How about we talk positioning during the fight ?

Last weekend I had this stupid idea that it would be safe to stay near our line of rangers during a Colkhab fight.

At some point mid fight I had a shortage of MP. (I was one of the two WHMs there) Unfortunately, I choose the worst time possible to convert. Colkhab had a hate shift a split second before I decided to convert and went to the rangers with it's AoE cone attack. I got hit with only 56HP and got KO'd.

Because of that the other WHM became overloaded of work, I lost most of the MP from the convert JA I had just used and had to spend another lot just to reraise myself. (sometimes it's a good idea to bring some instant reraise items so you don't need to waste precious MPs or time to reraise yourself, even if you're a WHM)

If you're playing any back line job, know your role and positioning properly is part of that.

Pay attention to your casting range and let your melee folks know if they're wandering away from spell casting range.

Finally, like Skjalf said, if you charge in to buff people there's a big fat chance you will get caught by mobs AoE attacks.

There is no problem in being /rdm, but /sch isnt useful only for accession. Light arts reduces cost, cast and recast timer by 10%. Together with sublimation, you have better means to keep mp than waiting 10 mins for convert. Also, if you arent capped, light arts will give you a boost in your skills.

People still use Unlimited Shot? I thought that ability died with Dark Ixion, lol?

If you're doing official ballista match, set your HP to the zone you're doing ballista in, if you're about to die, warp!
