Jeanpaul would you be able to produce a dat swap for glowy/nonglowy weapons?

I have an afterglowed Carnwenhan but I really hate the glowing effect. Is there a way I can replace my Glowy Carn dat with a non-glowy Carn dat?

I believe Braden was working on a plugin that was doing the same thing. with all glowing weapons. I have No idea if he finished or not.

I finished it a while ago, never released it 'cause it occasionally crashes if you reload it ingame and I wanted to fix that but never did. It's still safe to use but I won't be able to post it until later tonight.

Discussion on the topic a few pages ago but..

Did you find anything that can be done about geo bubbles? I'd settle for removing them at this point.

I actually made some progress on them one night, where I managed to remove individual parts of each animation (ie: little floating waves, snowflakes/rocks/etc, and tiny bubbles). Right now my priority is to get through my grad classes and the courses I'm teaching, so I wouldn't expect them for a little while. Tomorrow or Sunday, I could provide "blank" files that would overwrite them though, but it might also render the loupans invisible unless I spend some real time on it.

Hey JeanPaul,
Great work.
I wonder if you know anything about the sound files?
I want to replace the "awful" music that plays when mounted on the raptor with the music that plays while riding a rented chocobo.
Thanks!

Mount Song: FINAL FANTASY XI/sound/win/music/data/music084.bgw
Chocobo Song: FINAL FANTASY XI/sound2/win/music/data/music212.bgw

Simply replacing the Mount Song with the Chocobo Song will do the job. I recommend backing up both files just in case though.

Hey Jean I had a weird issue with the Zitah Color mod.

I kept running north where RoMeave zone would normally be (By Dragons/Puks).

The game actually tried to zone and said: Cannot enter that area.

It then teleported me back to the Qufim Island entrance.

In copying the textures and effects from regular Zi'Tah, I must have somehow copied the zoneline. I'm not sure where in the hex code that could possibly be, so I wouldn't even know how to resolve it. I suggest just avoiding getting too close to that little corner unless I can figure out a fix (low priority, though).

Jeanpaul,
I wonder if there is a way to turn off the combat music so that the zone music plays instead.
Thanks!

That's a packet related thing, for which you'd need an addon. I'm using an addon my brother made that can do that, but our settings are hard coded into the addon itself, and I'm not entirely sure how to make it a public use sorta thing.

If you use the Background music add-on with Windower, doesn't it remove the combat music when you have something set?

Updated icons for January 2017. They added an icon for when you have an indi-effect centered on yourself that debuffs and enemy (ie: Indi-Frailty), which also has a timer associated with it so you'll know when that bubble will wear off.

Thinking of uploading some song files and working on simplified Geo Bubble effects.

Hey ^^; I'm looking into doing some modding myself.
For clothing I see people use Model Viewer to extract files then edit, but if I were to recolour UI windows?
(I know there's a mod out there but I would like to tinker with them myself )

Jeanpaul doesn't seem to be playing anymore, so for those who love his Status Icons, here's an updated DAT for August 2017:

Status Icons - August 2017

X:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\119

Edit: I included raw pngs for users of PartyBuffs who want the icons to match.

A few years back I found a website detailing how to change DAT files so that, for example, you could change the Moogle in your Mog House into, say, Shiva. For the life of me, I can't find that website now. Anyone happen to master GooleFu and can point me to a link?
Thanks.

Out of curiosity, why did you guys had to update the packet? There's no new buff that I can think of?
