Self Skillchain Failing.

I have been asking around to other Blue mages about an issue I am having and they told me take it to the forums and ask.

When doing a self skill chain it should be CdC + sinker drill for darkness and savage blade + thrashing assault for light.

The sc's are not going off for me. At least not reliably. I was out killing bats (the vt ones in seekers gate areas) and out of 30+ bats I killed trying to use the self sc it only went off once. Lower level spells used to sc went off correctly though (requi + QC).

Any ideas anyone?

Were the mobs dying after assault/drill ? Sometimes the animation and chatlog won't register if that's the case

Sc doesnt happen if you kill the mob before the sc dmg or some places are just too laggy that the animation dont show. Often when i do reives as sam the sc just dont go, though the dmg appear in chatlog.

If anything of that is false, maybe the timing is off, doing too soon.

I had a friend with me she was helping watch. Lag was low, filters off, and the mobs dident die. Timing I think was right because when I self sc with lower lvl spells they went off, and once a darkness did actually go off.

If you change gear during a SC animation, it sometimes doesn't display both the SC animation or the resulting damage. Try using /lockstyle and see if you're still having problems.

ok lockstyle fixed it. tyvm. i never would have thought of that as being a problem

Just to clarify, there wasn't a problem, the sc was happening and the damage was being dealt, you were just causing it to not be displayed by changing gear. You don't need to use lockstyle to skillchain.
