That's not only false, it's not even the correct use of the term OP.
Your just pissing in the wind cause you got left out of something. Come back when you have an actual argument.

It's the exact definition of over powered. Or let's call it broken, to avoid the *** semantics.
There's over powered at the top, it's not.
There's over powered at the bottom, it is.
It doesn't actually perform that well. A walmart DRK could do more DPS than a walmart BLU for this month's ambuscade.
And this is straight up ***, i laughed for real. Yes, they COULD, do they ever, they sure as *** don't.
I partied with a DRK last night that was excited to be augmenting his Macbain. Yeah, he'll do real well against BLUs.

Yeah....my half respectful (by PUG terms, I'd never dream of taking her out to an actual event) Anguta DRK doesn't stand a chance against an NQ BLU dw'ing coladas. Standard Argosy, good Valorous/Odyssean augments, important accessories, 2 JSE capes so far, and its not even worth trying until I start HQ'ing this ***.

DRK has smite, last resort, and resolution. There's no reason why it can't perform well. This mentality is part of the problem. You're so skeptical about something you probably haven't even tried. You jumped right on the anti BLU bandwagon with everybody else. It seems like you have no frame of reference. You have the same attitude as a bandwagon BLU you're just on the other side of the fence.

You're literally playing from a point of view that doesn't see how the other side plays.
Join some lol shouts and see how the game is really played.
Oh, that's right you probably literally can't with a population of 300 on fenrir.
It's easy to make statements about this and that when you don't see how the majority play.
Some people get it and some, well it clearly goes right over your heads.

I always thought envy was associated with the color green. Turns out it's BLU.
I'll show myself out.

Smite, Last Resort, and Resolution aren't even to keep up with a random BLU with CdC without good gear to back it up.

I've been doing shout PUG almost every day since I came to Asura (where almost all of my testing was done.) Nice straw man argument though.

Why? What's so magical about CDC? It has crits? My RUN Reso does more damage than my BLU CDC and RUN doesn't have remotely comparable gear to DRK (although you do have Lionheart.)

If you're doing shouts on asura you're not doing "shouts" you're doing pre assumbled parties that want one DD.
No, join an actual shout.
Start a shout in fact and only take random nonrema drk war sam and one blu. It's hilarious how big the gap is. The sam will waste half the time trying to move to the front and wiff fudo. The drk will souleater then get one shot the war will be wearing tank gear and the half afk blu will spam cdc and beat all 3 combined.

I told you, I have been joining shouts. I've done only 4 Ambuscade runs with my linkshell, the rest are shouts. Some of those shout groups couldn't even handle difficult.

Next time a "returning to the game, what server should I move to?" thread pops up, I'm linking them here as a warning.

Theres a huge difference between a group with 5 needing one person "shouting"
and an actual full shout group. Stop being HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE.

How the *** do you think shout groups are formed? They all magically start at 5 members needing one DD? You're on some dumb ***, bruh.

These groups were PUGS made completely from shouting. I don't know what else to say at this point. It's clear that even when presented with unarguable information, if it's contrary to what you believe, you'll still reject it.

It's got significantly better fTP at 1000 TP when dual wielding, scales better with multi attack (which BLU automatically gets via TA traits), crits (which is most beneficial at low attack, IE when your gear and/or support sucks), doesn't have an attack penalty, and self SCs.

that's exactly how more than half the shouts go. shell with not 6;
First shout @ 5 want blu
That's -not- a shout.
Random NQ 5/5 meghanda thf; @ 1/6 everyone welcome come ambuscade.
That's a shout.
And these kind of scenarios SPECIFICALLY are where BLU is broken.

For example, Snaps, try that Ambu with NIN + NIN and no BLU at all and get back to us.
I already did it with DNC NIN NIN for DPS (RDM for Sleep + Haste II) and it was the easiest of any of the runs. Not having to worry about MP or getting 1 shot by the Qirins made it pretty easy.
Coming back to this, because I feel my point is being side-stepped (DNC pun unintended)... BLUs don't need DNC to cap haste. The BLU set-up doesn't require DNC at all. The NIN + NIN does. So even if your NIN comes out ahead of a BLU... That BLU helped it get there.

Wait waaaaaaaaaaaaat?
BLU is actually terrible in Ambuscade this month without Tizona, and even then it's still pretty bleh.
It's one thing saying "Blu is not the absolute best this month".
It's another thing saying "Blu is actually terrible".
It's not?
BLU always shine in situations where you have few buffs. Their self buffs and their job traits (accuracy yo!) grant them an edge over other jobs in low men situations.
The fact CDC and Savage Blade are such awesome WSs just adds more to the table.
I mean I've enjoyed a lot this month as ddRDM, as DNC, as NIN and I've seen really nice WARs, there's a lot of freedom allowed when you do (D) this month, but saying that BLU sucks sounds like a huge exageration :o
I'm not getting the Tizona thing either. Sure Tizona helps a lot against MP steal but then again you have Refresh 3 if a RDM is present or you can selfrefresh yourself if you equip the right spells.

I'm not sure what your point is; the DNC isn't some kind of wasted slot before considering Haste Samba.

The DNC setup did not require BLU at all.

You guys are playing with better walmart BLUs than I am.
Most of the BLUs I meet in PUGs aren't attack speed capped, are incapable of staying alive, can't maintain a skillchain to save their lives, and get outparsed (badly) by other jobs.
I dunno if they are even smart enough to go online to find gearsets/spellsets. I suspect they got 1200, a Colada or two and called it a day.
I remember a BLU parsing 50% of a non-RMEA MNK off the street in that frog ambu month. I don't even know how that was possible.

My point goes back to some jobs can replace BLU. But BLU can replace any job.
These are all viable set-ups for capping haste, for this Ambuscade:
BLU + anything (including itself)
RDM + DNC
RDM and DNC also serve roles for lowering targets' evasion, but both are not mandatory for this purpose.
The last piece to consider is skill chain options. And CDC does very well with almost any job as well as with itself. Longer chains are better, but given the frequency of Perfect Dodges use, CDC > CDC as quickly as BLU can push them out does just fine.

There's bad players on every job, on every server, some are just bad no matter what.
It's much easier to be "good" on blu than anything else. ie; higher floor. Half (more) of blu's output comes from simply equipping spells that are never cast. That anyone can learn. There is no gearcheck for job traits.

BLU is actually terrible in Ambuscade this month without Tizona, and even then it's still pretty bleh. I beg to differ, yes tizona is amazing for not needing refresh on blu, but to say blu is terrible, is not correct.
Blu x2 sam war whm rdm is optimal set up, as long as the rdm knows there ***and isn't lazy (or just terrible).
I have gone to ambuscade all this month on blu, i have 114k THM so far this month, and dont spend all day every day spamming ambuscade.
As of this post, i do not have tizona, and i do just fine on blu.

For me, an ideal set-up would be:
NIN, WHM, RDM, DNC, THF, THF
This also is viable:
Tank, Healer, Sleeper, Debuffer, DD, DD
Therefore, I know this could work:
BLU, BLU, RDM (maybe BLU, I'm not sure), BLU, BLU, BLU

I'm just trying to further illustrate my point, in case it hasn't been made clear.
Hi.
Dev tracker is a kind of feed in Official Forum that highlight (in the left side bar) posts from development team to players demands, questions and sugestion. Given that those answers are given by someone who effectively works with the deveopment of this game, they can be considered as official and true.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php
The japanese side of OF has its own dev tracker, that normally is way more active and detailed than english side. If someone feel like translating it to bring the info, feel welcomed too.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/search.php?searchid=15480698
BG site has one specific topic just to publish and discuss those official answers, and i think ffxiah lacks something similar as not everyone here check BG or OF, so lots of details/dev opinion are missed. So, thats the point of this topic, anyone who see new info in dev tracker feeds, quote it here, and start a discussion if you feel like.
Starting now, a couple of new dev posts were released after march update annoucement. Here they are:
Trust changes
Quote: [dev1261] Alter Ego Adjustments
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following content.
Walk of Echoes
Wanted battles
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following mission battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess missions
When Wills Collide / Maiden of the Dusk
It will be possible to summon alter egos for the following quest battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess quests
Champion of the Dawn / The Dawn Also Rises / A Forbidden Reunion
-----
Dev answer to a sugestion to add new ways to obtain dusk type of alluvion skirmish stone.
Quote: Since dusk-type stones were just implemented, we'd like players to do alluvion skirmishes to obtain them, so there are no plans to add the ability to trade other items for these stones at the moment.
However, we'll look into increasing the amount in circulation and the means of obtaining them in some way in a future version update.
Monster rearing news:
Quote: [dev1262] Mog Garden Adjustments
Monster Rearing will undergo the following adjustments.
A monster's mood will no longer degrade from "beaming with pure contentment" after collecting items or interacting with the monster.
The collective moods of all creatures will generate auras of light or darkness that affects them all.
Light
When the number of creatures beaming with pure contentment is greater than that succumbing to darkness, all creatures’ contentment and mood are increased.
Darkness
When the number of creatures succumbing to darkness is greater than that beaming with pure contentment, all monsters' contentment and mood are decreased.
The following information will be displayed when entering your Mog Garden.
The number of days left on assistants’ contracts.
The current affinity of the Mog Garden.
Mog garden gathering points will undergo the following adjustments.
It will be possible to scrap any unwanted flotsam directly without receiving it in cases where the player’s inventory is full or he is otherwise unable to recover it.
Sugestion about blu traits having aditional tier info.
Quote: This is something that is difficult for us to address at the moment as we would have to send data each time you open the menu to see which tier you currently have. We're concerned about this largely affecting UI response time.
Similarly the same holds true for saving the data client-side as well. Since all of the trait data for this would have to be saved, it would consume large amounts of memory, which also makes this feature difficult to implement.
