Sad that people seem to think the only campaign worth a damn is double CP.
I'm *** stoked for the Domain Invasion campaign. Want to get to at least 8 in regen/refresh.
Edit: And you know this could get eschite ore back down to like 100-200k? Come on HQ abjuration gear, lets do this.

I've been finished my 3 jobs for a while. I never even Apex'd on my THF, I just do enough content on it I'm 2100 and almost to 500 stored. COR and RUN got like 2 Apex parties each (had them from 1200 cap) and that's it. How many jobs are people playing they need to non-stop Apex every double CP campaign? ...which comes every other month, basically.

Yeah, I don't really get the fixation on CP/XP boost. It's nice and all but it's not like you can't earn job points without it or that it's the only thing in the game worth doing. IMO past a certain point (which comes well before 2100) grinding out JP is one of the least useful things you can do lol (in terms of "I want to make my character stronger/better").
Except no it's not. JP, specifically gifts, provide stat boosts to your character that go beyond gear or traits and the most potent posts are in the 1200 ~ 2100 range.

Announcing the Next Version Update
Good day, adventurers! Matsui here with this month's roundup.
The next version update is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7.
new automaton attachments
Summoner
・Adjust healing-type blood pacts
Puppetmaster
・Add new attachments
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's hope they are actually useful. Skillchain damage is the one they said they would consider making a while back, maybe that is coming? Turbo Charger III would be nice if it caps haste with only one wind maneuver. An attachment that makes magic damage not suck in some way would be awesome...
Also, hurray healing blood pacts boost.
No mention of the 2hd changes though, perhaps those aren't coming in this update?

There's a few significant 550s, 1200s, etc. BLU's 100/1200 is just... it's as good as a real JP Bonus should be. Some jobs got the shaft because the team designing JP probably didn't understand the job.
Edit: Or, more likely, the team didn't understand what they were doing with some of the good JP gifts.
But most people complaining are complaining about sub <200 which I don't understand. Like a main-BST saying "I can't get more than 50 JP on any job!". My BST accidentally has 200 just from farming merits and gain-exp.
Camp {I'm playing solo on a terrible job right now.} {over there} is trying its damnedest to get aoe'ing nerfed rather than A) using an AOE job, B) Using your AOE job to...AOE or C) Teaming up with an AOE job. I facepalm when I see a BST, BLU, WAR, BLM or GEO going 1-v-1 with mobs.
If any player would have ever asked me to leech off my AOEs and either pull for me or heal me/regen me on the run, I would have taken them right away. Regardless of that, I've let plenty of people leach anyway even if all they could contribute was a random waltz.

I need JP on my Geo and blue Mage mule. I play 2 hours a night and I'm need to gear mule get master status on geo and blue mule make a almace, tizona. Naturally JP comes at the expense of other stuff cause it's boring. Double campaign at least makes it tolerable

Speaking mostly for Zi'tah--
A good -dt set allows you to gather up several mobs easily. If you have aquaveil up, there's no trouble.
I run around with indi-refresh or indi-acumen depending on the state of my mp and don't actually worry about a geo bubble.
Because of /rdm enhancing, phalanx isn't terribly useful but I'll use it and Ice spikes. I can easily gather up 8 mobs.
For trusts, I would use Kupofried, Koru Moru, whm x2 and Leonyne (because he also aoes).
Unlike the other jobs, you are still a mage and the eight-mob limit to elemental aoes (before they start diminishing) is still a factor so I don't try to gather up more than eight.
Edit: Also, Koru-Moru will have phalanx on you most of the time. I was doing this before I had Koru and Kupofried so it was basically just a lot of whms following me around.
You may eventually run out of MP. I have ethereal earring which helps a great deal in this specific situation, but with refresh, convert, devotion from the whms. It works well enough.
It's not my preferred job to AoE on but when I needed merits and still needed JP on my geo? Sure, why not.
Here's an easy 43% PDT set (assuming 5% dark ring) that still has +3-4 refresh, ignoring whatever headpiece and earrings you use.
(Edit: said 47% because I forgot GEO can't use flume.)
ItemSet 343936
A bit easier for me since I have Defending and Vocane. If you have defending, you could forget about one or the other of the rings shown and cap.
(edit: And a GEO should have a solid DT set anyway, as it's within melee range more than any other caster.)

Obviously they are useful bonuses - I'm not contesting that. And when your gear is already pretty nice the Gift bonuses do become some of your most attainable upgrades. But I am saying that unless you're already quite currently geared you can probably get more than {cumulative effect of earning X JP} by devoting {time spent earning X JP} to farming gil or grouping for NMs to improve your gear directly. For anyone without, say, ~Reisenjima/NQ abjurations (probably the best 'bang for your buck' gear at this time) simply working on getting to that point though will do more for you overall than most gifts will. Probably in substantially less time as well if you're proactive about it - hell even if you just farm a few million gil and have it merc'd.
Your statement
Quote: Yeah, I don't really get the fixation on CP/XP boost. It's nice and all but it's not like you can't earn job points without it or that it's the only thing in the game worth doing. IMO past a certain point (which comes well before 2100) grinding out JP is one of the least useful things you can do lol (in terms of "I want to make my character stronger/better").
That bolded part is factually incorrect. JP's post 1200 are some of the easiest ways to increase your characters power level as those increase's are permanent and stack with everything else for the rest of your characters life. In essence gifts are "extra levels" added to your character.

I was responding to his comment that JP's (assuming past 1200) were one of the least useful things you can do to improve your characters power level, which is patently false. JP past 1200 isn't even hard to get, it's piss easy because the amount of CP Bonus's built up make it come fast when compared to the early gift levels.

That new quest better offer something amazing as a reward because getting the Golden Shovel KI is a stupidly excessive requirement.
Judging by the other KIs leading up to the Golden Shovel KI, it's probably this. Hopefully not since the point of this would be to help get to Legend rank faster for Ergons and well....it requires you to get Legend rank so....

That and a second Adoulin Ring wouldn't be too bad I suppose, but it's still quite a time-sink for anyone who hasn't already hit legend in all coalitions. Especially when the difficulty/complexity of the new quest is unknown.

Hopefully not since the point of this would be to help get to Legend rank faster for Ergons and well....it requires you to get Legend rank so.... Given that we don't know how much it reduces, (I can only pray that it's more than the piddly amount the other shovels do...) something on the line of Rhapsodies reductions would be ideal...
And they DID mention forever ago that they'd look into reducing imprimatur charge time further... (since HPB outside of campaigns was basically nonexistent... Though they have "fixed" the lack of Salvage equivalence with Ambuscade... Not quite the same though.)
Maybe the Scope will drop them to 1hr or so.
(I can dream my crack dream.)
Though I'd almost want a second ring more. (Since a massive reduction in imprimatur charge time is a finite boon.)
Though given that this is an epilogue quest... It could really be anything.
Mission Epilogue Rewards:
RotZ+CoP: Earrings
ToAU: Alexander and Odin
WotG: Atomos summon and Lillisette Trust
SoA: ????
All we can say for sure is...

Hi.
Dev tracker is a kind of feed in Official Forum that highlight (in the left side bar) posts from development team to players demands, questions and sugestion. Given that those answers are given by someone who effectively works with the deveopment of this game, they can be considered as official and true.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php
The japanese side of OF has its own dev tracker, that normally is way more active and detailed than english side. If someone feel like translating it to bring the info, feel welcomed too.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/search.php?searchid=15480698
BG site has one specific topic just to publish and discuss those official answers, and i think ffxiah lacks something similar as not everyone here check BG or OF, so lots of details/dev opinion are missed. So, thats the point of this topic, anyone who see new info in dev tracker feeds, quote it here, and start a discussion if you feel like.
Starting now, a couple of new dev posts were released after march update annoucement. Here they are:
Trust changes
Quote: [dev1261] Alter Ego Adjustments
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following content.
Walk of Echoes
Wanted battles
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following mission battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess missions
When Wills Collide / Maiden of the Dusk
It will be possible to summon alter egos for the following quest battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess quests
Champion of the Dawn / The Dawn Also Rises / A Forbidden Reunion
-----
Dev answer to a sugestion to add new ways to obtain dusk type of alluvion skirmish stone.
Quote: Since dusk-type stones were just implemented, we'd like players to do alluvion skirmishes to obtain them, so there are no plans to add the ability to trade other items for these stones at the moment.
However, we'll look into increasing the amount in circulation and the means of obtaining them in some way in a future version update.
Monster rearing news:
Quote: [dev1262] Mog Garden Adjustments
Monster Rearing will undergo the following adjustments.
A monster's mood will no longer degrade from "beaming with pure contentment" after collecting items or interacting with the monster.
The collective moods of all creatures will generate auras of light or darkness that affects them all.
Light
When the number of creatures beaming with pure contentment is greater than that succumbing to darkness, all creatures’ contentment and mood are increased.
Darkness
When the number of creatures succumbing to darkness is greater than that beaming with pure contentment, all monsters' contentment and mood are decreased.
The following information will be displayed when entering your Mog Garden.
The number of days left on assistants’ contracts.
The current affinity of the Mog Garden.
Mog garden gathering points will undergo the following adjustments.
It will be possible to scrap any unwanted flotsam directly without receiving it in cases where the player’s inventory is full or he is otherwise unable to recover it.
Sugestion about blu traits having aditional tier info.
Quote: This is something that is difficult for us to address at the moment as we would have to send data each time you open the menu to see which tier you currently have. We're concerned about this largely affecting UI response time.
Similarly the same holds true for saving the data client-side as well. Since all of the trait data for this would have to be saved, it would consume large amounts of memory, which also makes this feature difficult to implement.
