No haste magic: dw38
Haste samba: dw34
Haste1: dw32
Haste2: dw21
Cappedmagichaste: 0

The value for 'Cappedmagichaste' should be 1.

I started wondering about this so I checked since Im trying to build TP sets.

1*(1-(256/1024))*(1-(.35+.39))=0.195
1 * (1 - (256 / 1024)) * (1 - (.35 + .38)) = 0.2025

No haste set needs 39% DW

1 * (1 - ((256+150) / 1024)) * (1 - (.35 + .32)) = 0.199160156
1 * (1 - ((256+150) / 1024)) * (1 - (.35 + .31)) = 0.205195313

Haste 1 needs 32% DW

1 * (1 - ((256 + 448) / 1024)) * (1 - (.35 + .01)) = 0.2

Capped magic haste is 1% DW

And I have no idea how much haste the spell haste 2 or some geo stuff gives, so lulz

I can't find the dev post, but SE confirmed Haste 2 gives 30% haste.

Geo/Indi-Haste was tested to give a base of 28% with capped skill, merits and gear. Dunna bumps it up to 33%, and Idris takes it up to 40%. *Data pulled from the Geo guide in the GEO subforum

I don't play past 75 cap since it isn't as fun, so I don't care about any of the new equipment.

Those numbers do not help me. Haste is broken down into 1024s. That 15% haste that haste 1 gives is 150/1024, so its actually less than 15%. You have to know the exact specific values to determine how much DW you need. Thanks though, one day it might be useful info to me and I'll look it up and show it, but if anyone can find the values feel free to post them.

Why do they not help you? 307/1024 is pretty much a standard assumption for haste 2 if I'm not wrong??? I think assuming it's just under 30% is a good point to start at?

Similarly with dunna (337/1024) and idris (409/1024) according to Snprphnx's haste values.

Similarly with dunna (337/1024) and idris (409/1024) according to Snprphnx's haste values.

The only spell value I know is haste 1, and its 150, so logically I would expect other spells to follow and be 300 for haste 2, 330 and 400 for geo.

Not knowing the actual value has significant impact on the answer as well. For instance if haste 1 was 151 instead of 150 you'd need 1 less DW to cap -delay. And as I said, those things don t affect me so I don't care. I play with no haste buffs (salvage/dynamis) haste 1 only (doing things with my alt) or capped haste (playing with my ls). I'm not going to build sets around having an alt geo or brd who isn't also casting haste 1 on me... That's just silly.

Edit; seriously though. The first post about this didn't use the actual values and at least two of his numbers were wrong. I'd like to avoid giving gear advice that can be proven wrong outside of specific extreme situations.

These are my current NIN Sets, sort of, I don't have an ACC/ATT 20, STR/DEX 7, TA2 Taeon set yet, mine has WSD 3 instead of STR/DEX 7.
The things I'm not really sure about are Iga Dochugappa vs Bleating mantle, Crit DMG 5% Izuna vs DA 4% vs CR 4% (which puts into question WSD 3% vs Crit DMG 3% on all Taeon WS pieces, someone said CD 5 Izuna was best so I went with that, Never checked myself) use whichever item you have/whatever Augment you get first until I do more math;

Blade: Hi;
ItemSet 334880

ItemSet 334700
Izuna; DMG 17 ACC/ATT 15 Crit Dmg 5%
Yokaze Mantle; Weapon Skill Damage 5%, anything else is just a bonus.
Taeon; ACC/ATT 20, Crit rate +3%, and Weapon Skill Damage 3% on every piece. However, While Augmenting it, if you get Crit DMG 3% before WSD 3%, keep the CD.
NQ Yetshila is the second best ammo.

Capped Magic Haste;
Max ACC
ItemSet 335137
Mid ACC
ItemSet 335140
Low ACC
ItemSet 334968
Taeon; ACC/ATT 20, TA2, STR/DEX 7
Izuna; DMG 17, ACC/ATT15, Crit DMG 5
Taikogane; Crit Rate 4, OAT

Haste 1 Only;
ItemSet 335139
TP set for hanging out with your WHM mule doing old content.
Taeon; ATT 25, STR 10, DW 5%, One piece should have TA2 instead of DW5.
Izuna; DMG 17, ACC/ATT 15, Crit DMG 5
Taikogane; Crit Rate 4, OAT

No Magic Haste Buffs;
ItemSet 335138
NIN/DNC TP set for soloing Salvage/Dynamis, I dunno why you'd sub DNC anywhere else. You do not need Haste Samba after unlocking all the gear slots.
Taeon; ATT 25, STR 10, DW 5
Izuna; DMG 17, ACC/ATT 15, Crit DMG 5
Taikogane; Crit Rate 4, OAT

All haste combinations

I don't know if I still have the script that I used to generate this. I used the haste values from BG, and assumed 337/409 for Geo-Haste.

M2(n) indicates March 2 sung with +n March instruments/armor.
Buffs are in the order H2 > H > G(I) > G(D) > S2 > S1 > M2 > M1.

If you wanted to know how much dual wield was needed with Haste 2, Geo-Haste (Dunna), and Samba 1, you'd search for "H2 + G(D) + S1".

Do you really think all that is necessary Vow? Since you're always using Taeon boots anyway it will always look like this with

dunna + haste 1
330 + 150 = 480
1 * (1 - ((256 + 440) / 1024)) * (1 - (.35 + .04))= 0.195390625

March+4 + haste 1
64 + 64 + 96 + 64 + 150 = 438
1 * (1 - ((256 + 438) / 1024)) * (1 - (.35 + .04))= 0.196582031

You're over cap with what I consider "Basic Gear" using brd or geo and having haste 1 due to Taeon boots having 4% DW base, and just being the best shoes around. Is there really a situation where this won't apply?
(Linos gets +3 all songs, empyrean gloves have march +1, g horn has all songs +4. March +4 should be considered standard for a brd IMO, March +5 should be considered good for a decent bard. And Dunna is from Oboro...)

I don't think you need sets for every single situation listed in the file. It was something I used back in 2013ish to generate gear sets for NIN. It was helpful to see which dual wield values corresponded to large numbers of situations (haste gets dispelled/lazy white mage, etc.). I don't remember which values I settled on.

March +2 stuff was thrown in because of Joachim.

That's an interesting idea, I didn't even know ninja could use the OAT dagger.

That's a good point, but is there ever a time youd use a bard trust without using Koru for haste 2?

Taeon; ACC/ATT 20, STR/DEX 7, DW 5% on one, TA 2% on the other.
Izuna; DMG 17, ACC/ATT 15, Crit DMG 5
Taikogane; Crit Rate 4, OAT
My no haste set uses Taeon Legs with DW+5 on all 3 pieces, and Brutal/Suppa over DW Earrings. With those changes you gain 2 STR, 7 DEX, ~24acc/~13att, 5% DA, 1 STP.

You can make similar changes to the Haste 1 only set as well.

Since those DW pieces aren't for anything hard you could put str 10 att 25 DW 5 on all of them too.ddex and acc will be capped regardless, but att should still be useful. I'll have to make those changes.

Personally I don't have anything on them except acc/att/dw since yeah, mostly just fodder pieces. I was using the values you listed underneath the set though.

Looking for an updated lua that would consist of at the very least 4 different haste tiers, with the more the merrier if someone wouldn't mind sharing.

Really hate using this lua that only has 3 tiers.

lol its pretty gimped compared to the one in the OP. I'll set it up soon.

ItemSet 335380

I only used one ring because i traded in the Adoulin Ring for the Haverton Ring.

If using without Futae, you are better of using Nilas Gloves.

Hmm.

Kinda sad about my Hattori hat.

I've been busting my *** on NIN for a month or so, trying to get it geared and such so I can show people that you can actually do endgame stuff with it.

I'm currently going broke using two Izuna, imperfectly augmented at this time. I can't seem to get above +4 dmg, which seemed inferior to the +12 str I had on it already.

Would Ptica or Felistris be a good alternative to my Taeon hat, since it hasn't managed anything better than WS acc +20?

For Endgame content I suggest something thats got a good amount of accuracy. Ptica would be good, or Gavialis Helm.

Gavialis is definitely part of my acc set, and I rarely have trouble hitting anything thus far, because my accuracy hits 1k without food (Ionis in Adoulin, full acc set). With madrigals and sushi I could probably hit most anything reliably if needed.

Guess I should keep trying on my Taeon hat; TA comes easily even with nq stones, it's the other stats that aggravate me.

What stone grants delay reduction, Duskslit?
