They already built a fence it didn't work and served to piss the local Texans off. Trump himself surmised the wall would prove ineffective against a ladder and rope. But hey if you like wasting money get on that wall train.

Wasting money? You know his plan right? :/

Fence = Wall now or what?

You can't make another country pay for your public works project, that's not how these things work. Trump has mused that it wouldn't matter how high he built this mythical wall it would be able to stop a rope.

Fence = wall? Strange conclusion to come to but both are a waste of money.

Make Canada pay for it!
we need a wall to keep you losers out too. get you all nice and caged in.
Screw that, let's nuke Canada.

Saves time AND money. Might run low on maple syrup though, but who cares about that?

His plan is to beat his chest to chants of "USA! USA!" at his rallies from idiots who think the wall plan is viable or intelligent.
Still better than Clinton's "I'll be a clone of Obama and divide the country further" plan and Sander's "tax everything, destroy businesses, let the government take care of you while we expect people to pay nothing but taxes for the rest of their lives" plan.

Trump's plan to make Mexico pay for the wall is sound. Read over it and try to understand it before attempting to debate. Ignorance is not a good debate tactic.

So are we just going to tear up NAFTA while we are at it?

You don't start a foreign policy war with Mexico. It is just dumb, and embarrasses us on the world stage.

Did you just move the goalpost? Lol
Actually, part of Trump's argument is NAFTA.

It's probably one of the few things Clinton did right in his presidency, even though it was basically drafted by the Bush Sr. Administration. Clinton gets the credit because he signed it.

Fine lets go back to the wall.

It isn't practical. You have to invoke eminent domain, deal with environmentalist, the terrain isn't some parking lot you just build over, the concrete can't be poured and set properly in that heat so it has to be built off site in sections then moved in mass to the border.

The wall is HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. The Cubans that came over here in rafts probably laugh at the concept of a wall.

Not to mention the logistics of addressing the Rio Grande.

I haven't read a single post for the past two pages, but Zer's post makes me think of a new American image.

We have Washington crossing the Delaware?

Now we can have Trump crossing the Rio Grande!

He is right about it being abused, though. I don't see the problem with increasing fees for temp visas. American jobs should come first.
I don't mind if we increase the number of work visas issued per year. I think we should bring more educated workers from overseas.

I believe that we should make the path of citizenship easier and faster, while at the same time actually investigate people coming into our country. But this is the federal government we are talking about. They can't even navigate their heads out of their ***, let alone do actual work for a living.

Electric fence. Anyone who crosses the Rio by water gets electrocuted. Nuff said.

Only people that can afford said visas are CEOs and other executives and their jobs aren't American. The lay worker isn't applying. Also with today's technology don't even need to step foot in the country to broker deals. Hi2u Webex and Go2Meeting.

Nothing he suggests in his plan can be effectively implemented let alone achieve the results advertised.

No marigolds in the promise land; there's a hole in the ground where they used to grow. Any man left on the Rio Grande is the King of the World as far as I know.

Yeah but illegals from south of the border isn't the real immigration issue. Its people who have expired visas who decided they don't want to leave. Those are the real problem.

I thought only CEOs and executives could afford those visas? >_>

Then you didnt read up on his policies then, since he specifically states Mexican CEOs and executives paying a higher rate for visas with respect to making Mexico pay for his majestic wall.

In reality there is a high volume of visa overstays regarding the illegal immigration issue in the US.

Not to mention the logistics of addressing the Rio Grande.

Not to mention this is just a farce. It is clearly against immigrants from Central and Southern American, particularly Mexico is singled out.

We have vast coast and an entire northern border that anyone can just hop over. We could make it completely impossible to cross the southern border for "our security". This stops no threat from crossing in from the north.

The 9/11 hijackers didn't come over from Mexico. Yet instead of "Visa! Visa!" We hear "Wall! Wall!".

Lol, how well did the Great Wall of China work out?

You know there's a huge ocean between us and the Middle East?

Well thousands found out that an ocean is only the size of a visa. Then again I mean Trump saw that from his roof so apparently he thinks a wall on a fraction of the border makes us safer when an entire ocean couldn't.

Tell me again why this is a good idea.

It's not just about being safer. It's about preventing illegal immigrants from simply walking over the border into the United States, getting jobs under the table and leeching from a system that they do not belong to.
100% right, but lets not discount the fact that:

Quote:
Broken down by some of the primary offenses, illegal immigrants represented 16.8 percent of drug trafficking cases, 20.0 percent of kidnapping/hostage taking, 74.1 percent of drug possession, 12.3 percent of money laundering, and 12.0 percent of murder convictions.

Source

Trump really is right when he says "they're sending us their murders"

I wish I could be treated as well as an illegal immigrant when I break the law.
