Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will not debate Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, he announced Friday, as he decided it would be “inappropriate” to debate the Democratic insurgent, who is far behind Hillary Clinton in their nominating contest.
In a statement, Trump ended nearly 48-hours of speculation that such a debate would take place, after he seemingly accepted an invitation to debate Sanders offered by late night host Jimmy Kimmel. Trump aides quickly said it was a joke, but the candidate followed-up in a Thursday news conference suggesting he might accept if networks donated millions to women’s health charities.
“Based on the fact that the Democratic nominating process is totally rigged and Crooked Hillary Clinton and Deborah Wasserman Schultz will not allow Bernie Sanders to win, and now that I am the presumptive Republican nominee, it seems inappropriate that I would debate the second place finisher,” Trump said in the statement. “Likewise, the networks want to make a killing on these events and are not proving to be too generous to charitable causes, in this case, women’s health issues. Therefore, as much as I want to debate Bernie Sanders – and it would be an easy payday – I will wait to debate the first place finisher in the Democratic Party, probably Crooked Hillary Clinton, or whoever it may be.”
Probably would be a waste of time.
I mean, who would debate Sanders on anything? Clinton had to because he was the only real challenge to her eventual nomination. If the DNC cared about what the voters want vs. what the establishment declares, the democrat nomination would be a whole lot closer than it is now. Maybe even too close to call.
The congressman who represents Ground Zero wants Donald Trump to return the money he took from a post-9/11 recovery fund.
Calling Trump a "small man," Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-Manhattan) rips Trump for taking $150,000 from a government fund aimed at keeping small businesses afloat after the 9/11 attacks in an open letter before saying the self-proclaimed billionaire should return the money or donate it to a 9/11 charity.
"On behalf of the countless New York citizens and businesses who worked so hard to heal after the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, I have a simple question: When do you plan on returning the taxpayer money that was designated to ease the suffering of our city's small business owners?" Nadler asks in an open letter to Trump, first published in full by the Daily News, who broke the story of Trump taking money from the fund.
"Your exploitation of our bravest and most generous citizens shows us all we need to know about what lies within your heart. We should all expect better — especially from someone running to be our president. Whatever the size of your business, we need no further proof that you are a small man," he writes.

As Breitbart’s 'Renegade Jew' smear shows, Trump won't denounce his hacks' anti-Semitism. It’s a hatred that's now core to his campaign.

Until this week, Renegade Jew would have been a great name for a punk band. Now, it’s the Weekly Standard editor’s Bill Kristol’s new nickname thanks to Breitbart.com. And it’s not a term of endearment.
Kristol, a powerful player in Washington for decades, is trying to pull off a Hail Mary to save the conservative movement. With Donald Trump all but certain to be the Republican nominee, Kristol has traveled around the country talking to conservative leaders like Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse and former Massachusetts Governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney about the possibility of a third party candidate running for President.
In a story about Kristol’s efforts, Breitbart ran a piece by conservative firebrand David Horowitz with the following dog whistle of a headline: Bill Kristol: Republican Spoiler, Renegade Jew.
US TV network NBC is cutting ties with Donald Trump over "recent derogatory statements" that the veteran businessman made about immigrants.
NBC said the company would now not be airing the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants that are co-owned by Mr Trump.
Responding to the announcement, Mr Trump said he would consider suing NBC.
Earlier this month, he accused Mexicans of adding drugs and crime to the US as he announced he was seeking the Republican presidential nomination.
"They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists, and some I assume are good people, but I speak to border guards, and they tell us what we are getting," he said in his speech on 16 June.
He also pledged to build a "great wall" on the US border with Mexico and insisted it would be paid for by Mexicans.
He later insisted he was criticising US lawmakers, not Mexican people.
