I admit, FFXIV isn't for everyone and it isn't FFXI. Anyone expecting it to be is an idiot. If you haven't tried it and get the chance to try it for free, you might as well.
What´s wrong with that? Or is just salty FFXI players?
Hey, it's that guy with a 60% rate of insulting FFXI players in his post history. Hello again, surely you aren't the best candidate to be calling anyone salty.
It's kinda funny tbh, why would SE have to remind people to continue subscribing when the game has a large fan base already?
They added the cash shop and have milked it by revolving design decisions around its presence. With that in mind, it does not come as a surprise to me that they're sending emails like this one out. What would surprise me more is if they're only sending them to a handful of people and not all previous subscribers.
It's not "low" to send marketing literature to customers, it actually makes common sense to direct market existing clients. It was your fault in the first place for not opting out of marketing.
Delete it like a human being or set a rule to delete it. Unsubscribe? Rocket science...
Also worth noting that maybe if XI had done this sort of advertising instead of relying on the playerbase to do all of the advertisement for them, the final content update of the game's lifespan wouldn't be a month away

Well, I think XIV might have to take a bit of the blame for that.
XIV didn't exist for over half of XI's life cycle, there was nothing preventing SE from advertising the game and improving its sales numbers outside of poor marketing decisions.
Are we not showing the FFXI e-mails telling us about free login campaigns + special events on top of informing us about the sale of the game for 10 bucks every couple of weeks?

One of those fine pieces of advertising brought me back in August, coincidentally. They advertised the game being free to play and Adoulin being $3.99 and I thought, "Hell, why not?" and here I am a month later. They nailed it!
I thought we were friends... Future Fabulous forever... right? Now I might not have a future... please, come back and help me save Vana'diel... just like the old days.
