Fallout 4

Yeah, I mentioned that a few pages back specifically in regard to how he gets worse when you help him. It was spoilered though, so easily missable.
They should give you a second quest to re-break him and restore the old personality.
I'm hoping for old man Three Dog DLC.
Because one ain't enough, and two is too low!

I don't know what I hope for with DLC really. Hopefully something more lore significant or more vaults maybe.
Really I am more hoping that someone modifies Willow and puts her into Fallout 4 more than I care about any DLC. I miss Willow so much :(

I would love a difficult giant dungeon tbh. I didn't exactly find anything that was too tough in the game. I went to the areas people have tagged for difficult and killed them all.
You just get to that point where you just demolish everything and it makes you sad.

I think I'm at that point myself. Big Jim, Strong and I cleared Spectacle Island and I only had to replace my power armor's left arm when we were done.

Some one should totally replace the default fight music and after battle music with FF stuff.

Yeah I was surprised by her as well. First time I stepped out of Sanctuary I ran into her sold some junk then out of nowhere a pack of ghouls shows up with one being a legendary Glowing One which a skull rank and it 1 shots me.
I had just saved so I was stuck there after multiple reloads I resolved to reload again and run like hell leaving Trashcan to her death.
I was wrong. I ran like hell and the pack attacked her and her Pack Bhramin (or however it's spelled,) I turn back expecting to see her get murdered only to see her CHASING them down. She managed to kill all the normal ghouls before moving on to the glowing one. Seeing the chance I sniped the glowing one for the exp while she beat the hell out of it.
Trashcan is now a constant and welcome visitor to Sanctuary.

Can settlers even die? One of my places got attacked by a lot of super mutants and the NPCs were going down just like companions do so got up again after a bit.

I don't think they can, which makes setting up defenses kind of meaningless.

Think if you don't defend them when they get underattack they can die or leave. I was in the middle of the final quests and one of mine got attacked I didn't make it in time. Failed notice popped up and now the settlement is empty.

Even on hard difficulty, I haven't found a use for power armor. And I'm about 14 hours in, mostly doing side quests as they pop up and not doing a lot of fast travel. I've probably fought a couple dozen skull and legendary enemies. The ammo crunch, though, definitely makes it harder to steamroll with one super gun.

You generally don't need Power Armor but I have found it useful for those "*** it I'm just gonna Rambo everything" moments.

I ran up on 2 deathclaws yesterday. I can see why it would have been nice to have there. My best weapon does 44 dmg right now, and even repeated headshots barely hurt them. I just laid out a bunch of mines and kited them through them in the trees.

Late mission question:
I'm at a point where if I accept the next BoS quest, it makes me enemies of the railroad, and if I accept the next Institute quest it makes me enemies of BoS. And if I want to stick with the railroad, it seems I need to take the next Institute quest as I need to "continue working with Father".
It kind of irks me a bit, as there are a few NPCs from BoS and Railroad that I like, and I'd like to not have to kill them, Maxson's doucheness aside. Don't really want to kill Haylen, Ingram, or Glory for instance.
Is there a way to work the quests where I can keep all the "good guys" happy?

As I understand it, no.
Which is why I started off liking the BoS in this game but eventually ended up thinking they're a bunch of ***, just like in every other Fallout game.
I like the core of their beliefs and mission, but with the exception of Elder Lyon's group in 3 (where technically the "Outcasts" were more "true" to the BoS than Elder Lyon's group), I find the BoS to be pretty worthless in that they're so arrogant and caught up in the "nobleness" of their mission that they lose sight of why they're doing it at all.
Or maybe It's just always the bile that builds whenever you encounter them early in games and they're dismissive and rude to you, as if they could even begin to handle you if you wanted to take them down. Most of them don't have a polite bone in their body. Specifically, no. If you want to stay friendly with the BoS, the way I understand it, you've got to make an enemy of the Railroad and be a complete and utter douchebag to synths because...reasons? I don't know, it's not really clear to me. You'd think a group that embraces technology could appreciate them a bit more, but nope. Insular douchebags.
Edit: There's also the practical upshot of becoming an enemy of the BoS: unlimited Power Armor pieces off their cold, dead corpses.

The only "good guys" in this game are the Minutemen, and I am sure they corrupt if you work with them enough (only faction I have not worked with all the way through).
Everyone else gets real evil at some point which is dumb writing if you ask me.
NV had what 11 factions or more, and all kinda of crazy combos for how you could align with the sub groups etc. This lead to a shitpoopload of ending variables. It was awesome.
Fo4 has 4 factions. Only 2 are really "main" factions, maybe 3 if you stretch it with the RR. Three of the factions solution to everything is KILL EVERYONE ELSE. You don't want to try and manipulate them, or make them subservient to us? No just kill them because we know how to make those quest markers already. The ending is essentially the same aside from who walks around after and what is blown up.

They're my main supplier of replacement left legs, which always get destroyed first for some reason.

I think I took a really weird path to endgame, because I broke some ***...
As said, I got to a point where I had to kill the RR if I wanted to stay friendly with BoS. I wanted to stay on good terms with everyone as long as possible, and felt like some of the BoS were generally good people, namely Ingram and Haylen. I had a quest active (forget which) with Haylen, but couldn't complete it, because it would just force me to start Kells' quest to kill the Railroad (which forces them to become your enemy, no choice in the matter). I liked all the Railroad people better, so that wasn't an option for me.
So I killed Maxson. And then everyone else on the airship, because they aggroed.
This resulted in weirdness with Danse, he wouldn't talk to me at all (I'd say like "Hey, Danse...", and he'd just stand around, in Listening Post Bravo).
Continued on with the Institute's quests, as they were required to advance with the Railroad, got up to a point where Father told me the Railroad must die. I chose to warn Desdemona, and she told me to stall the Institute, but the quest didn't advance from there (still flagged to "Warn Desdemona") - as if the game was forcing me to choose killing the Railroad at this point. I reloaded, tried a couple of other things I can't remember, but nothing helped. So I blew Shaun's head off. Entire Institute aggros, I ended them. Tons of quests fail, and I'm banished from the Institute.
I go back to Desdemona, and she tells me "we can't really take on the Institute, but I bet the Minutemen can", and I wind up doing "The Nuclear Option" with the help of Preston and Sturges. Still wound up getting Synth Shaun in the end.
Preston wants me to shoot the BoS airship down now. PAM wants me to kill wandering BoS members, (all are aggressive now). I visited Danse, and he was all pleased and happy that I took the Institute down, and even said how he's available to be a companion, if I want him, but he still won't respond when I try to talk to him.
I basically think deciding to kill Elder Maxson early kinda screwed up my save file quite a bit.
Overall though, I love the game, but the four endings were a bit, maybe disappointing, for me. I didn't like the "kill everyone" requirements either, and felt like so much more could have been done in anticipation of the DLC. My ideal solution would have been something like:
- Minutemen become a stronger/more established presence, perhaps in an alliance with the BoS.
- Elder Maxson killed or deposed. Someone more tolerant/less insane takes over (Ingram would have been a good choice!).
- Railroad, I'm not really sure. I think they'd need a whole new purpose.
- Sole Survivor/Institute, seeks to apply the Institute's technology to the Commonwealth as a whole. Although I disagree with a lot of what the Institute did, when you're told to "blow them up", I think the appropriate response would have been, "ARE YOU *** CRAZY? DO YOU NOT KNOW THE AWESOME ***THEY HAVE THAT WE ALL NEED?"
Basically, I wanted to persuade Father to let me negotiate with the Railroad, and to come up with a way to get someone more moderate into control of the BoS. DLC in which the military power of BoS, the technology/knowledge of the Institute and the values of the Minutemen combined would have a lot of potential. Would be kind of awesome to see an "endgame" where some serious progress has been made. I mean, these people have had 210 years to get their ***together, and still aren't even close.
Also, I wonder about getting Sole Survivor's spouse's memories transferred into a synth in the future. Spouse is still frozen, right?
I wonder if I should start a new game in anticipation of the DLC. Or try to get a "finished" save file for each of the 4 endings. Not sure if Bethesda's DLC is a continuation of the
