spoilery question I'm up to the mission where you have to go to CIT and tack down a courser. It seems like a main scenario point of no return. Is it?

Pretty sure it is not, if Virgil sent you.

Cool, thanks. I just have flashbacks of basically all big RPGs when they send you to a place in that fashion.

You're getting closer though. Save often!
Once you have the Courser chip and take it to the appropriate people you'll need to build a relay to use the chip, which is where you begin really siding with one faction. Or, in my case, when you began sniping BoS jackoffs for their power armor. Admittedly, this is also where I've presently stopped playing because life is happening. *shakefist*

I found Swan, I killed Swan.

I found Swan, I killed Swan.
I found him about 2 hours in and have been kiting legendary mobs through his pond wherever possible.
Also, the Salem museum... Holy crap.

I'm looking for an opportunity to dust danse. Dude is getting in my nerves not even considering that they want me to steal from my friends.

I kinda broke Danse.
After his little identity crisis I saved him, but then I noticed he no longer would let me assign him to tasks around sanctuary. On top of that having him with me makes the BoS aggro so enough was enough, I sent him to the Boston Airport outpost.
He is now stuck in an eternal battle with Liberty Prime.

So this isn't going to be ridiculous or anything.

So did a little more research, hard to get exact stats and whatnot before GECK is available, but "fires a second shot" prefix weapons actually don't fire a second full potency shot, but a shot at the absolute base that the weapon can fire before perks, mods, etc.

Does it still consume two ammo?

That, at least, explains the odd discrepancies involved.
I also know that for multi-shot weapons (split lasers, shotguns) it only adds one extra projectile, not another entire round, though I also know there's a mod to fix this out there.

Apparently it IS possible to (ending spoilers):
Destroy the institute without betraying the Railroad or BoS, you can end on good terms with both groups. It involves doing some quests and not others, and they need to be done in a specific order as well.

One of the best random events I've come across:
Walking through the Wasteland, minding my own business, suddenly an explosion in the distance!
I run over...to find a bunch of moonshiners accidentally blew up their own still. -.-;

I finished the main scenario
I guess it wrapped up alright, I really wish the end sequences reflected what you did to the settlement and your character appearance.

So this game runs at 1x16 time. I turned it down to 1x1 sat in a chair and waited till night.
Then I went hunting for the elusive sleeping enemy. After hours of hunting and clearing out way points I found one. A named feral ghoul in a chapel.
In 6 hours of hunting this was the only one I found.
Also the Mr. Sandman perk gives you a special melee ability to kill sleeping enemies and even makes a funny noise when you activate it.

Sounds like the most useless perk ever, then.

Sounds like the most useless perk ever, then. It would be if it didn't also increase silenced Sneak attack damage by up to 50%. Current Sneak Attack mod on silenced weapons is x5.3

I went full endurance, charisma, and perception. I just snipped and used hand cannons, so I did the perks for those.

It would've been nice to watch the ending slideshow and then keep playing in New Vegas. I'll take that over the "There's war, and I learned a lot." speech 4 has. Still, better than Skyrim's ending.

I don't even remember Skyrim having an ending.

Skyrim's ending for me was when the Dragonborn made a trip down a dark path, thinking he was going to learn alchemy but it turned out he walked into a Lovers Lab.

Figured as much, I was really trying to remember what the end cutscenes were about, but there just weren't any, a few dialogue options with various NPC's.

Think I got the game running pretty spiffy. My GPUs don't like me very much, but I've put them through worse.

Too many wrappers/injectors/shaders? Maybe. Worth it? Definitely.
Figured I would start this thread up for those will will be talking about it and what not over the next few days.
Few rules here,
