always gotta be half "this debate is serious!" and half "but it's also on a website dedicated to a 15 year old video game."
We can do both we are good !

Just don't talk about religion even though that is the title of the thread...we tried that once and it ended badly !

Don't give us any ideas we are not above discussing Wario and his political leanings !
Are we above anything?
Nothing is beneath us.

15 of 19 of the 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia. The rest were from Lebanon, Egypt and the UAE. None of which are included in this Muslim ban.
Those places can only exist in locations that the government is either too weak, too corrupt to stop them or actually supports and funds them.
It doesn't matter where they received training and where the terrorist boot camps are. Besides, there's substantial evidence that Saudi Arabia helped fund 9/11.
More Americans have been killed by people like Dylann Roof than foreign terrorists since 9/11. The Boston marathon bombing was committed by two American citizens.
This EO only serves to incite hatred and violence, not stop it.
Yes they were Americans, but for the record what religion were they again?

There was a guy called Pol Pot that did a few bad things...but who cares about killing 25% of Cambodia ! Same reason as Stalin. They were killing their own people. Governments tend to be fine with that.
Hitler killed his own people AND his neighbors. Silly man.

I doubt it I've seen it all. Hitler references seems to be the new normal.
If Hitler were alive today he would be like really ? There is no other evil person to compare someone too !
We could call him a cheeto skinned Ceaușescu but I'm sure the correlation would suffer pendantic debate.

Yes they were Americans, but for the record what religion were they again? We have been assured that this isn't a religious ban but rather based on country of origin.
By fonewear 2017-01-30 13:08:55
Don't worry we are going to ban all sorts of stuff. Next up CNN !
By fonewear 2017-01-30 13:11:28
I'm more interested in the Supreme Court appointmen then banning some refugees. That is a bigger deal to me.

As an update to the Mosque attack the man they think is the shooter is Alexandre Bissonnette, a student of political science at Laval university in Quebec.

Well, one thing is for sure. All this outrage is a sure sign that Trump is now screwed. He's beyond the pale. He's toast. He's on his way to imminent impeachment. He's... supported by the majority?
Quote: Most voters approve of President Trump’s temporary halt to refugees and visitors from several Middle Eastern and African countries until the government can do a better job of keeping out individuals who are terrorist threats.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 57% of Likely U.S. Voters favor a temporary ban on refugees from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen until the federal government approves its ability to screen out potential terrorists from coming here. Thirty-three percent (33%) are opposed, while 10% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Similarly, 56% favor a temporary block on visas prohibiting residents of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from entering the United States until the government approves its ability to screen for likely terrorists. Thirty-two percent (32%) oppose this temporary ban, and 11% are undecided.
This survey was taken late last week prior to the weekend protests against Trump’s executive orders imposing a four-month ban on all refugees and a temporary visa ban on visitors from these seven countries.
These findings have changed little from August when 59% of voters agreed with Trump’s call for a temporary ban on immigration into the United States from "the most dangerous and volatile regions of the world that have a history of exporting terrorism” until the federal government improves its ability to screen out potential terrorists.
Oops.

Kara, it was taken prior to the protests, not prior to the order. I guess there are people that will change their mind because other people whine loud enough, but I guess we'll see.
Weren't you the one complaining about these polls to begin with?
I know the faults of polls, and I wouldn't take any one number to heart. It's just high enough that it destroys the narrative that this is some crazy order that the majority of Americans hate. On a similar note Quinnipiac has a poll showing more supporting than not supporting the order by 6%.

Considering the current screening process for Visas and Green cards is 4-6 months, I don't think a better screening method is going to happen anytime soon.
Meaning the "temporary' ban would last a ridiculously long time because Trump has an ego greater than Savaels and would never admit he couldn't improve something.

No poll with remotely reliable information could be done that quickly.

The narrative is the only thing that matters, all must bow to the approved, vetted and certified progressive narrative. If it disagree's with the narrative then it must not be true and any instigators must be dragged into the streets and shoot. Anything for the cause.
