He also exaggerated and mishandled a few things but I have my doubts his announcement right before the election had the impact people like to assume it did. If Trump fired Comey because Comey found some collusion between Trump and Russia, then that's grounds for impeachment, and Comey would be vindicated. The thing about Hillary's emails? We knew exactly what she did. What do we know about the Trump/Russia connection? Nada. Zero. Zilch. It's 100% speculation. You've got dirt on a few former aides and nothing on the man himself. That is a YUGE difference between the Clinton and Trump investigations.

I assume this your opinion reflecting what you saw around in your personal bubble I.e reactions you saw personally around you, on your social media feeds and forums you frequent.

However, I saw from my bubble a lot of enthusiasm get deflated. I saw on my feeds plenty of ardent Clinton supporters have doubts on Oct. 28th and expressed they may not vote now. That went on for a week. The announcement that there was nothing came on Sunday the 6th. That's a weak day in the news cycle. The damage was done.

That's not saying it's the reason she lost in the electoral or the three key states. However it did have an impact due to the timing.

Speaking of timing, it is also the reason why people are looking at Comey's firing suspiciously.

They were both based off of speculation though, namely the contents of the emails. The difference just seems bigger to you because you have a strong bias towards Trump.

Maybe once people stop affiliating elected officials with their party we may eventually come to a point where we can prevent open corruption.

Could have been but given the fact he was able to piss off both political parties at some point in the past 6-7 months I'm inclined to believe that he is less bias then we give him credit for.
