I believe the thought put into the Moon Balls was nice, even if they are "useless". They are from an event from 2002. Is only obtainable from that event, which was repeated in 2003 only. Otherwise gotten randomly from the Goblin Box also.
They're celebrating the anniversary of the game, every present is to remind us of the history and such, not necessarily "out do" each gift with something bigger and better.
Nobody gives a ***. Give us Dark Matter augments, capacity points, Voidwatch lights, and all that jazz instead.
Or maybe those Trees that gathered the servers together to kill to obtain Outpost Warps, that was cool.

Well put.
I think this is like when people forget an event is celebrating something (family, happy times) instead of what they can get out of it. (presents, gifts etc)
Kind of like Christmas
Edit: Anyone else seeing all the HP as shattered crystals today?

Then you can play with your Moon Balls and shattered telepoints the next time a CP event is on.

What's the point if there's nothing fun to do with the nostalgia? An ILV twinkling tenant that drops vanaversary keys would at least make for a fun one day event.

Just be happy they didn't shatter the home points and disable warping between them for a day.
By Nyarlko 2017-09-14 12:19:34
According to the FP, they were originally going to have the new ram NMs for today, but they turned out really well and the devs decided to use them for the Vana'versary objective instead.
This was a last minute replacement.

All they have to do is give us the "Moon Ball" nostalgia and ALSO turn on every buff.
Everyone would be happy.

The reward from those sheep NMs from an aesthetic perspective, far outweighs any of these monthly events they have released by far, minus the initial launch, if for nothing more than Lockstyle. If they would have put out better looking gear for vanadiel day, it would be much more encouraging to participate in. There's just nothing going on with the day, so much that it's forgotten as often as it comes up

I assume Christmas treant event NA PS2 players and most NA/EU players missed out on may make a return this year.
This was when the outpost warps were introduced in 2003 IIRC.

If they did do a Twinkling Treant day down the road, it would be cool if it was iLVL like Khajit mentioned, and if the server is successful, give them a week of DM augments or something like that. I just feel like there's no thought behind this, and it's exactly a crappy nostalgia bomb and for the most part nobody cares.
I'd be WAY more inclined to care about this nostalgia if the Moon Balls recovered 1000 HP/MP, see, that's cool. Or if examining the shattered home points gave you an ANV Key.
But no, zero thought, zero *** given.

OMG I saw someone mention the Twinkling Treants, That event is the single lone event that sticks in my mind to this day. Beying level 20 or less running through the zones with the entire community tryig to kill this big tree. Was so much fun.

Another lackluster Vana'day.
Come on, SE. At least give us some old unique looking lockstyle gear like the purple sunglasses again... or something useful like Moogle HP belt.
