The absolute most I will give you is that I may be wrong about rank-and-file backline military positions.
You
literally have to be wired differently to be in special forces. Simply being good in a fight means you're not wired normally. Because being good in fight requires experience in fights, and people who are wired correctly
don't go looking for fights. Fights hurt,
even when you win, let alone when you lose.
That I know from experience.
To inflict that much discomfort on yourself for the good of your country
requires a dedication to ideology. You keep saying things about loose canons, but
that's not the only type of ideologue there is.
Not every person with that kind of ideological dedication is a *** kill-crazy psycho. But they
do have a level of dedication to a cause above and beyond. And getting strong, virulent, young men who you can get dedicated to that cause is the best target audience to recruit.
