And here you go: https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots.

Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.

Hillary has done intense research on the physics of silencers and how they work. Meet her professors:

or as many mass murders to occur as it currently has been?
Yes, because raining lightsabers or Buicks or couches (or whatever ridiculous comparison you want to make) on an unaware crowd from your high vantage point would not have the equivalent cost in human lives. You keep thinking I'm missing the point because I'm not agreeing with you. The point is nonsense and can't stand up to basic logical scrutiny.

But like I said, it's futile. Guns are so ingrained in our culture and synonymous with being an American that anything outside of a major catastrophic event isn't going to budge the debate. I'm sure there's solace to be found in that from the usual defenders. Meanwhile, the line of reasoning that says I could kill someone with a super soaker so lets ban super soakers hurr hurr hurr remains idiotic.

Glad we got that settled. That should save about a dozen pages.

It still beggars belief that, in America, people with pre-existing mental health conditions/disorders have easy access to automatic weapons but not health insurance.

This is a mental health issue and it needs resolving.

Well don't just stand there solve it !

We tried. America decided crazy orange grandpa was preferable to same-old, same-old grandma, who was in turn preferred to crazy uncle with wild hair and European ideas.

And don't forget we select few who supported Joe Exotic.

The fear of a gun ban is more from the NRA. The NRA starts fearmongering to sell guns. Everytime you buy a new gun, there's an NRA sign up pamphlet in the box with it. So, a scared older man, watching the world change around him sees an ad on TV telling him that Democrats are coming to take everyone's guns and the response will be a civil war and that every American should arm themselves to be ready. Not just a gun, not just a Glock, sir, you need you a rifle and a shotgun too! You need you a full-size Glock, you need a compact Glock so you can carry, you need you a magnum revolver, you need a .22 to practice with...

So the man goes and buys a gun and in that box is a pamphlet that says "Protect your rights!" So the man fills out his pamphlet and sends in membership fees and dues for the backing of an organization he will probably never need.

It's pretty much a ploy for gun sales. I'm not sure if gun manufacturers actually pay in to the NRA but it wouldn't surprise me, seeing as how they don't really advertise on TV and the NRA does.

See a debate requires critical thinking and an open mind. None of that you will find here.

The more I learn about this shooter the more I think he owed some shady people at a casino so money. Couldn't pay the debt so he says f it I"ll do suicide and take some people with me. From what I read he was a degenerate gambler like this video:

Gamblers are the worst addicts !

You're both right!

...it's true though. We could use a little tinkering with our gun control laws and a lot of tinkering with our mental health treatment approach -- not to mention a few little tweaks as to how those two topics intersect -- but you can't divorce Americans from their guns.

We've got too much history. Gun ownership is more holy than religion to some people. And I'm not saying that to be ironic or insulting. It's simply a fact. Much as the Constitution won't (or shouldn't) allow you to force women to remove burkas or force Chik-Fil-A to open on Sunday, you can't force people away from their guns. They're too sacred to a portion of the population.

Well, that's not exactly fair. I think I remember at least one instance of critical thinking and an open mind. Was that P&R 17? No, that's not it... 14? Let's see here.... Okay, no, not that one either. Believe you me there's an example in here somewhere!

We do well when we talk about beer and gardening.

It's not really P&R, but arguing the merits vs. the detriments of IPAs being too trendy (they have merits, but they are in fact too prevalent presently), just doesn't get people quite as fired up.

Even pineapple on pizza doesn't get horribly ugly as long a the RT folks don't swing by.

If the anti gun nuts actually talk to a person that owned a gun. They would find most of us aren't crazy gun nuts. Itching to shoot up a mall...well most of us !

You see those people that are willing to kill people. There is nothing you can do to stop them. Bad stuff happens. You got to deal with it.

So, are you saying the only method this guy, this specific guy, had was guns? Even though they found bombs in both of his houses?

You really want to say that?

I don't care if you disagree with me or not, but you can't be serious in thinking that mass murder is limited to only guns. There is sooooooo much evidence that states otherwise.

Yep reading it now he was a degenerate gambler:

Multiple sources who knew Paddock in recent years also revealed on Monday that he spent a good deal of his time gambling, with law enforcement officials stating that in recent weeks he made a number of transactions in Las Vegas that were in the tens of thousands of dollars.
On some days he spent over $30,000, and on others over $20,000 according to an individual who had seen Paddock's Multiple Currency Transaction Reports.

I'm not going to disagree with any of that. At all.

I think there should be a ban of automatic weapons in the US. There's no point in having one of those for any recreational purposes (other than firing at shooting ranges, but then again, you could just go to the shooting range, rent an auto/semi-auto, and go to town in that if you want), even with the NRA's purported idea about using automatic weapons for hunting.

If you can't shoot a deer using a shotgun, you shouldn't try to shoot a deer with an automatic rifle. You still couldn't hit it even if you tried.

Banning assault rifles isn't going to do anything. It isn't that hard to get an illegal gun.

How about we find out how this thread will go without your snarky remarks and pointless banter?

I mean, you are making the false assumption that only guns are used for mass murder. That is your stated opinion....
