Newly Added: The Great Odyssey Campaign
The following changes will be made to the rewards for reaching the Otherworldly Vortex in Sheol A, Sheol B, and Sheol C.
- Job points earned will be increased by 50%.
- Moogle Segments acquired will be increased by 50%.
- The number of lustreless scale boxes, lustreless hide boxes, and lustreless wing boxes acquired will be doubled.
* The type of item obtained depends on the Sheol entered.

The idea was there but the result won't be.
The people that already get 10k every 20 hours; thrilled
The people that need segments but don't hyper zealous optimize get basically nothing. Would've been nice to see like 1500 minimum if you kill 30 mobs or something.

I don't do much Odyssey but I don't even remember getting job points at the end, just gil, segments, and boxes. Still, not making that exemplar is missing an easy layup.
Now that I think about it, probably never did Ody on a non-mastered job.

It is, until you realize it pushes back every other campaign.
July campaign set is supposed to start July 11th, it won't now. It'll start a week late, so will august and sept and oct etc.
Makes login campaigns and maint misalignments too

I don't do much Odyssey but I don't even remember getting job points at the end, just gil, segments, and boxes. Still, not making that exemplar is missing an easy layup.
Now that I think about it, probably never did Ody on a non-mastered job.
You get 1 job point per notorious monster killed according to the wiki, so that 50% bonus is really going to help out unmastered jobs!

+50% to end bonus is just boosting it from 25% to 37.5% extra segments, theoretically? So, it's only 10% extra segments on the entire run, unless I'm misunderstanding something here ( 137.5% / 125%). Pretty mild.

There will be no holding of the sign. SE didnt pull any bait and switch here.
It always was a bonus only from the vortex. Eiryl said it was 1.5x segs for the run and you all ran with it.

You know Thorny's right. But it'll have been in the wording of it that tricked everyone to believe it was 50% bonus for each mob as they're killed. Not that it mattered anyway, they could've added a "You'll delevel all jobs to 1 Campaign" but they gave back Cornelia, so we did Vanabout

I particularly like it being called Great, whereas all the other campaigns are mere plebs by comparison. Also Odyssey was released in March 2020 for anyone keeping track and placing bets on when the first Sortie campaign will be.

There's no way to know until it comes out which way the segment bonus will be. It's unclear, it's just ambiguous enough.
But it states in (my) screenshot the bonus is applied at the goal.
It could mean total from the run *(1.25)the normal bonus *1.5(campaign)
Or the total*1.375
Or the total*1.5
Which I already went over
It looks like the 1.25x seg bonus we get for touching the exit is being increased to 1.5x.
This, Or; Total*1.25*1.5
Total*1.5 instead of total*1.25 is functionally zero increase for such a large amount of effort.
Whereas total*1.25*1.5 is almost double, more appropriate for a campaign
What they say, what they mean, and how they apply the math, do not have to mesh.

I know why its vague and ambiguous to him:
He doesnt play the *** game and has no idea what “reaching the Otherworldly Vortex” means.
The segment bonus to segments being anything more than a drop in the bucket is its own discussion, but there is nothing vague about what it is.

I mean I don't like Eiryl any more than anyone else does, but it's at least unclear what the CP part means because the vortex doesn't give CP. This could reflect on the other parts too.

Could mean:
Now you get CP for hitting the otherworldly vortex. How is this 50% calculated exactly...? Saves up all the CP you earned the entire event and then give you a single installment equal to 50% of that? Wouldn't that be...way too many CP to give someone at once?

Bonuses previously attained by clicking the OV are increased TO 50% (the increase being applied to the run, not the existing value)
In addition, if the CP bonus isn't applied all at the end, the way the wings/segs/gil are at the end, it would need to be applied to the rest of the run. If it's applied during the run, why is it worded the same as the things that are OV-touch only?
It's really not well written.

Theres nothing vague about how SE worded the campaign bonuses. The only thing remotely vague is how the 50% bonus rounds for odd numbers.

It's relatively clear there cp bonus gets applied at the vortex.
The "confusion" is not where, it's how the formula will be written.
X*1.25*1.5
X*(1.25+.125)
X*(1.5)
Call it 10,000 easy round number:
A) 18750
B) 13750
C) 15000
(Normal would be 12500)
Are all equally valid and equally likely.

Im 99% sure you get the “gained a job point” at the end when you touch the vortex even if youre capped at 500.
You probably never noticed it. Also its not the standard message that everyone can see when you gain a JP, its just your screen.

Just checked the one-and-only video I have of us seg farming. I popped a Lotanu and then at the end there's no mention in my log at all about JP.
