Well, there wouldn't be "high-pop" servers. There would in theory be a bunch of medium-pop servers.

Once again:
Everyone that is currently playing on their 3k-4k active server is perfectly happy there. If they they are on one of the 3k-4k servers crying about low pop, they should server hop to Odin, Bahamut or Asura at their leisure.

I thought my chat log was bugged or frozen once. It turns out everything was fine....just that, not a single person made a /yell or /shout for 24 hours. It was Leviathan in 2017.

Be very afraid of the low pop servers...

RMT to Bahamut:

Leviathan was dying YEARS ago before even ROV, that server is like some backwater Mississippi town

Global AH would likely be a good solution, but it would just cause botters to set up on "dead servers" and go to town on everything AH-able. They'd need to step up the anti-bot game.

Don't they already do this now, but just on a per-server basis? (Asura, Bahamut, at least).

I guess you could take advantage of a dead server, farm it endlessly, and then global-sell those items on the global-AH.

This already happens, it's just gated behind a world transfer. Lots of RMTs, whether it is gil or characters, don't farm on Asura, they do so on small servers then move the account as needed.
