The state shouldn't be going around trying to nanny the population to protect them from their own stupidity.

In general I agree. Thought there's sometimes a fine line between protecting people from their own stupidity and protecting other people from others' stupidity.

If we stopped all religion I'm sure people will still kill each other. Religion isn't the problem people are.

No but at least then we'd be honest about it!

Let's be real if you were surrounded by sand and hot weather in the Middle East you'd want to kill people too !

There is a 95% chance all I'd want to do is have a cold alcoholic beverage.

But given their idiot religion isn't okay with that...

Asking Canada about freedom of speech is like asking Saudi Arabia about human rights.

The only real difference in freedom of speech between Canada and USA is hate speech not being protected. You can't use your freedom of speech to incite violence in Canada.
That's like saying Canada doesn't have any free speech bro.

I don't think we should even have hate speech. Cause once you start saying this speech is hate and this isn't...it becomes a slippery slope.

Ajit Pai seems like a gigantic child who will tell lies that he knows no one will believe to try to get his way.

What a dumbass.

Any speech the government doesn't agree with can be categorized as "hate speech". Protesting speech is a "all or nothing" thing because the moment you enable the government to define restrictions is when you lose the concept entirely.

A Liberal government pass's a law declaring it illegal to use "hate speech". Later a Conservative government pass's a law declaring all liberal ideology as "hate speech".

That is how you get an authoritarian regime. Look at them all and every last one of them has some laws preventing speech the government deems dangerous to someone somewhere.

No it really isn't.

It's not what you believe in, and that's okay.

But it's really not the same at all.

I don't think we should have hate speech as legally defined because people shouldn't be that *** horrible.

But here we are.

And it is certainly something to give me pause but again. The whole "what is pornography" test.

"We are going to take away your right to vote because we believe you voting is dangerous to other peoples health and instead we will cast your vote for you based on how we believe you should vote".

Every vile evil act ever committed on a mass scale as done to "protect" someone somewhere from something.

Here is the thing, *** like me exist in this world. Someone like me would look at any law, rule or regulation and find a way to distort it's original intention to further my own cause. I would also lie, cheat, steal, manipulate and coerce other people to serve me and you'd end up with a very bad person oppressing you. The entire purpose of the Constitution is to ensure that someone like me, who would otherwise seek to conquer and rule you, instead thinks "*** that noise, too much work".

The people on the left, and right, are evil manipulative *** like me and will abuse their position to dominate every last one of your sheep. Don't trust them.

Sure bold the first part but not what is relevant to hate speech, anyways following your logic it's as if I said USA had no human rights because you allow death penalty (and some forms of torture)

Pffh. Joke's on you bro. We can't even decide what a human is.

As I said earlier, free speech is all or nothing. *** like me WILL find a way to take it away from you to serve my own agenda, if you allow me. Outlawing "hate speech" is legally no different then outlawing all free speech. If I can arbitrarily define something as "hate speech" then I can arbitrarily define anything I want as whatever I want.

This is the difference between the People's Republic of Canada and the USA.

Constitution ==>> US Government ==>> People

Canada

Canadian Government ==>> Constitution ==>> People

No we can't decide what is real and what is not real. Because no one studies philosophy these days.

That's not what it is, you can say whatever outrageous you want toward the government, toward homosexuals, races and religion. You just can't incite people toward harming other people.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

You realize you just contradicted yourself. Those are the same things.
