In a year of foreign policy failures this is Trump's biggest one yet, and its for nothing. The US doesn't benefit from this at all, no Americans get anything out of this move, it just makes us less safe, so way to go. I doubt the embassy every gets moved to Jerusalem, in fact I don't think Trump is going to do anything, that seems to be his MO. But there certainly won't be anymore peace talks.

The problem with the U.S. acknowledge Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is that it upsets an already-tottering balance in the Middle East that will further push the more people into extremism that will lead to more violence, and it's entirely unnecessary.

Why does Trump have the power to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel?
That's it, as moderator of FFXIAH, I declare Wetwang the capital of the UK. Now you have to because some American said it. Trump doesnt have the authority to tell Israel where it's capital is. Israel does and they declared Jerusalem their capital years ago. It's been the stated platform of dems and republicans for decades to do this, but it's never actually happened.
Trump obviously doesn't give a *** (thank god) and is interested in getting things done. Of course that means libs are gonna freak out about it because that's what the left is today. Whatever trump does they don't like it (great platform).

One more point to clarify.
Israel declared the capital Jerusalem years ago. The US has just never recognized it as the capital until now due to pressures from Muslim terrorist masquerading around as diplomats.
As I said above this has been on the stated "honey-do" list of both parties almost ever since Israel made their own declaration.
