Gusgen Mines sounds promising.

Train the zone and -ga3 everything, see what you come up with.

You can't -Ga farm anymore. You'll only get drops from the one mob you actually target the spell at.

I don't think this is accurate. When I was farming bonechips I would get multiple drops when I would banishga 2-3 ghouls at once.

Higher levels means less drops on too weak mobs.

Some testing from wiki said:
My final objective, with the aid of broad testing by other players, will be to narrow down the possibilities I have outlined in regards to the application of Treasure Hunter job traits and the bonuses granted by Thief's Knife and Assassin's Armlets so that we have a definite system for calculating the drop rate of a given item. Once we become to understand the truth behind the system governing drop rates, we should be able to apply it to other things such as defining the exact reduction in drop rate imposed by "AoE farming" lower level monsters. I believe that its possible that such a method of farming has likely reduced common drops by as many as two tiers in this scale.

Korroloka Tunnel always worked for me. Sure, there's not that many bogys to choose from (9-10?) but it's a great place to farm, AFK, farm, AFK for a bit. As an added bonus, you could wind up spawning the NM (Dame Blanche) who's still surprisingly profitable if you're lucky with the drops.

This is the best Advice, in my opinion.

You get Revival Tree Roots, Cotton Cloth, and from Dame Blanche up to 4 Sarcenet Cloths (10kish each). This is by far my favorite place to piddle farm (Giddeus is a close second)

Ok, so that didn't tell me anything other than someone is assuming something. While farming my drop rates haven't been any worse with or without AOEs.

from what I can tell when you AOE stuff /thf the treasure hunter isnt applied to AOE kills, so you still get normal drops- just TH is not applicable

could be wrong, but you definitely get more drops than just the initially target mob if you use AOE

That's my point. I never once mentioned TH either.

As a THF I used to do mass farming with cyclone (@300% its about the same as an ordinary Sneak Attack) and I can say that I did indeed see less drops from mass killings vs. one at a time killings.

You definitely still get drops from multiple mobs when you aoe slaughter stuff, but the drop rate seems to be a LOT worse than if you kill them normally.
