The best decision and most logical one in this case would be to block this guy and move on. A person in your situation hit by life should not be responding to internet trolls in the least bit. Complete waste of time and energy.
I couldn't help myself but I am done. One day he'll have a problem money can't fix.

the thought of nikolce being anything besides an abused racist or a deflecting liberal is so funny..
Sounds like it. The type of Liberal that protests in the middle of the highway blocking peoples way to work telling them they should help themselves and help those who are less fortunate. Well can't get to work when you are protesting lol!

I don't even get this line of thought. The whole "Help yourself, don't rely on others" is a pretty damn common right wing talking point. They love their self-responsibility and "bootstraps" talk. To think Niko is a liberal is delusional, he sounds more like a libertarian.
You may be right but I have heard both extremes utter that.

Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 15:10

If you are going to try to quote scripture, try using it all. Or, at all.
By the way that "God helps them who help themselves" quote isnt found one time in the Christian bible. There are tons of the opposite message.

Just food for thought.

There is a wonderful thread called politics and religion. We never discuss religion but you are more than welcome there. Just once you go into the PnR section you may never come out !

I give no credence to religion, and i'm poorly under informed on politics. However, I do enjoy a good debate. Maybe I can make my way there one day.
I do believe that we can lend a hand (sparingly as not to spoil anyone) instead of haughty derision. I completely believe that everyone has to take responsibility for their actions, situation and sometimes take responsibility for the actions of others, but I just felt that the response wasn't really warranted in its entirety- however much truth there is to it. To me, it came across as blasé.

I'm not trolling.

For some people bad luck seems to follow them like a shadow. Every week there is a new excuse to miss work a new emergency they need money for, a new problem only someone else can take care of for them. They exhaust all of those around them and then widen the circle of who they beg from.

Dude. You keep droning on and on how the guy didn't make the right choice but you can't offer a solution.

He got no car. He can't get a job until he gets a car. But he can't get a car until he got paid. But he can't get paid until he get a job. And he can't get a job until he gets a car.

The guy has cash flow problems. He can make money but he can't do that without spending 1st.

Usually, you solve cash flow problems will a loan or emergency savings. Considering he already spend his savings on the lawyer - not sure about the details but fathers tend to spend big to keep their kids. His other option would be personal loan or similar stuff. However, considering his situation, he will not be able to get a decent loan without a job and a car.

because you are a lonely individual with the capacity of a homeless shelter- always needs more.

i can use more words if you like, i'm sure you won't recognize why i used them again.

You can use all the words you want. But if they have no meaning what is the point ?

Well OP good luck. I would take all advice given to you by internet strangers with a grain of salt. But at the very least people actual are trying to help.

Nicy and Fone are regulars in the Politics and Religion forum*. That should be all you need to know about that forum.

Religion... you are active in your church, I assume that it has given what finical aid it can but is there not one mechanic in it? A used engine and a volunteer mechanic would be WAY cheaper than a rebuild. For that mater can't a cocongregationalist give you a lift to work?

The Salvation Army often helps people in distress no mater their religion or lack of one.

There are also many government programs that may help. Off the top of my head ADC and SNAP for food assistance, SSI for income assistance, Obama phone / web for communication (it should be called Regan phone because he started the program.) Your state may have a few too. Check them out.

There are advocates who will help you find government programs, no idea how to find them.

*Full disclosure: I am too.

"You can't appreciate that which you haven't earned" is also described as "the windfall curse" or the curse of windfall income. It's why lottery winners often end up bankrupt and why throwing money at poverty doesn't work.

it's not a matter of political affiliation it's a study in the flaws in human nature.

I did work with my church and because of our declining congregation since the area where my church is, is economically depressed they provided me with extra food so I wouldn't have to spend actual money on it. I do receive a small but of unemployemt. I have submitted an application for Food assistance for my children. They were glad to help, had no clue about how to go about it because I have never needed it.

As far as mechanics, no lol.

I have contacted a few agencies about car help, no one has funding for it. I live in the rust belt, the population has been declining forever. I live in the suburbs of Warren, Ohio which I just recently moved to before all this happened. I have worked out with my landlord who I know on pausing the rent until I go back to work on the 30th. My main focus is just getting there, and thanks to the community that is quite possible now.

Dude delete the non redacted order from your photo bucket account.

That’s a lot on your plate.

You’d probably due better explaining that you’re taken on the task of caring for an infant that’s not yours who was violently shaken by the biological father? On top of your own kids.

You may be right but I have heard both extremes utter that.

I have never seen a liberal take an anti-welfare stance. The extreme of liberalism is a socialist state, which seeks to create economic equality, being against welfare is the opposite of that ideal.

One of the more consistent views of liberal vs conservative is that liberals believe in using the government to help others in the form of taxation and welfare and conservatives believe government should not be involved and someone either takes Niko's position of just work harder or your position and ask for private charity. My main libertarian friend I discuss politics is the whole "taxation is theft" type that thinks private charity will always come through when people need it. He is delusional, but it is what it is.

Just ignore Nikolce. No need to pay any more attention to one who is either a mentally deficient troll or a complete idiot suffering from Dunning-Kruger.

According to his twitter this is the second gofundme fund he's set up to help his family. The first was in 2016. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but this just seems off to me. Either way, good luck with everything. I hope it works out for the best. ( o.o)b

Yes I set one up for a family member who had died suddenly, never collected any money, my church took care of it. Any more speculation or questions?
