No, he was incorrect. He said last box counts. I said last box was noise. I didnt open a LT, hit another noise, and then open last box. I missed one noise from the first 4 batch of noises.

He literally said Noise - middle. He listed all the chests, in order, including the terminal chest. There's no way, if this testimonial is to be believed, that the problem was "you opened 6 chests and got 5 drops."
It turns out that he was accidently right because Nynja was wrong, but his conclusion from this information is just plain wrong. He said:

Which is just...mis-counting what Nynja said. He didn't "open 5 boxes and then the last box" (according to the information at the time). Iocus either misread what Nynja said or worded his post really weirdly. That is a really strange way to say "I think you opened 6 but only listed 5 in your post because you didn't notice something in the chat log."
It's perfectly possible for more than one person to be wrong/mistaken.

He's wrong because he assumed I wasnt counting the middle chest.
And that last box also counts, so you got 6 boxes and whatever was your LT you already have.
I stated in my first post that I opened N N N-BB LT N-middle. That post was quoted by Rips 6 hours before Iocus made his post, so "you edited it after I saw it!" would only be possible of I convinced Rips to edit his post accordingly. Yes, I made a mistake and miscounted the N boxes I opened because I'm not used to not having LT loot load. I have multiple characters sitting in the BCNM area when I do Trove and I was just in disbelief over it. I also admitted that mistake when I went back to look at the logs, unlike some people here who will never own to their mistakes, or continue to double down and gaslight.
So yes, he was correct that I opened 6 boxes. Once again, I have owned that mistake after doublechecking the logs. He was wrong because he made the false assumption that I wasnt counting the middle box.
Jesus christ the level of "I was wrong BUT HE WAS WRONGER" is a bit absurd. The point is that the system worked as intended and you didn't get gypped out of a drop. Case closed.

What does this part mean? A beligerent bang can appear after 3 chests are opened and it means there is a Loud Thud on the floor. How do you lose a beligerent bang? Unless you get a Loud thud, and you still see bang notifications, so there must have been 2 LT's on the floor?
Think it means he opened the 8th chest without finding the loud thud, so it was either the 9th or 10th. Because one changed to rainbow at that point, it was effectively lost.

Interesting perspective. When this has happened to me in the past, I just assume that the final chest (rainbow) was the belligerent bang's Loud Thud all along.
Honestly, I just never assigned any weight to the idea that the LT must occur before the 8th chest is opened. I guess I low-key suspect that when a belligerent bang occurs, I have a slightly higher chance of encountering a LT with each subsequent chest-open. Of course, this is all guess-work or conjectuve, with no real way to validate it. (If only SE could give us a hint, like if one of the chests would wiggle or twinkle, in response to random emote...I wish.)

So this means the LT was one of the last 2 chests with the other being the mimic so it turned into a rainbow chest. Ive had this happen a couple of times.

If the BB was found before box 9, would box 9 still become a rainbow or only upgrade to gold?
I pointed this out a while back, but that event will overwrite a rainbow chest(on entry) with a gold chest. I think it upgrades to gold or rainbow at the usual rate regardless of what happened prior.
If you say so. I have everything I need. I'm just giving things away to friends and strangers at this point. If your orb looked like this, maybe you'd be more inclined to gamble as well.
