The NAFTA thing was pretty much "I'm gonna make X thing disappear....NOW IT'S BACK!"
And everyone claps, because that's how sleight of hand goes.
There's a few things that were long overdue which were added, like Canadians don't have to pay duty fees for items under 100$ it was previously 20$
I'm totally fine with the changes to the car industry. It's far from a major overhaul but it does make sense.
But for other things like the dairy market, nothing really changed, the US gained 0.3% of the Canadian market from 3.25 to 3.55 (just like EU). Some updating is good, but it's kinda dumb to act like it's a new thing Trump came up with.
Please realize that the majority of Trump supporters know he's an *** and a windbag. It's those negative traits that make him identifiable and more human then a fake plastic politician who's image has been carefully crafted by a media relations expert and who's ever interaction is choreographed. Pointing out how human President Trump is just makes him more popular. Trumps like that weird yet somehow likable uncle people have, or know of. He has bad qualities and it's those qualities that make him personable and people can relate to that.
So if you want to compete your side is going to need to get a similarly likable candidate yet that's completely impossible because the progressive ideology prevents the admission of fault. Any comment that a leftist canidate isn't the walking savior of humanity is met with derision and "your a sexist racist white male pig!". That makes them incredibly unlikable and inhuman.
