we'll see how this plays out.

one of two things will happen.

he'll get confirmed
trump will nominate someone even "worse"

it's all a dog and pony show to try to "activate the base" for the midterms....

like we can't just buy whatever dipshit gets elected...

Flake threw the gauntlet down at Grassley. Asked for a one week hold on the vote to allow time for a one week FBI investigation into the five known allegations against Kavanaugh and that he'd be an automatic "no" vote without it. Over half the Dems on the judicial committee also walked out. Blumenthal stayed behind for the fireworks.
Were you watching the same thing?

Gauntlet thrown is at the full senate vote, not controlled by Grassley. He said he would vote yes to get it out of Committee.

All Democrats were present and voted no, in a 11-10 vote.

CJ lives just enough in our reality to get the gist of it, but is too far removed to get any one story straight, no matter how simple it is.

Yeah well, I try not to pick on anyone. Even tho sometimes I pick on a Canadian here and there... I try to stop myself when I do.

In before Anna requests an FBI investigation of me picking on people before I become a SC Judge.

And apparently question my odor XD

My problem with Kavanaugh is that he has no problem committing perjury.

Kavanaugh Lied to the Judiciary Committee—Repeatedly

And these are only his lies on Thursday.

Welp, the vote is out, with the expected 11 to 10 vote in favor of advancing the nominee. Flake is... flaking out... and attempting to push back the vote a week so that the FBI can pretend to investigate evidence that doesn't exist, so we'll see how this plays out.

Didnt I say that would happen? Yea, I did.

If its agree's with their narrative then it's good, if it disagree's with the narrative then it's bad.

Ex that Article Chanti linked is an opinion piece that's just half truths and twists of words. Toilet paper has more value.

You'd be fine with Kavanaugh being voted for and then having an impeachment proceeding? Sounds like a lot of fun! /popcorn

Absolutely zero chance of that happening, needs 2/3rds majority and happens practically never. One party actively attempting to impeach the other parties judges would start a civil war. The entire balance of government levies on the Supreme Court being above everything else and it's members only being removed on the most heinous of situations, not because a bunch of #MeToo followers got power hungry.

Kavanaugh is going to be on the Supreme Court, there is enough votes for it and all three of the witness's Ford has named have provided testimony that they don't recall such an event ever happening nor even remember who Ford is. That alone is sufficient to dismiss the entire thing, the Democrats want to keep it alive as long as possible though.

I will make a prediction. You heard it here first.

FBI investigation will be done by Tuesday. Nothing found, unable to proceed, case closed.

Kavanaugh is sworn in Friday.

I bet you $1,000,000 imaginary internet dollars.

Stepping away from politics for just a second, I found an interesting article on scientists who are trying to quantify "dark personality traits" (such as Machiavellianism, narcissism, psychopathy, etc.) much like they've done with various aspects of intelligence and personality.

They call it the "D" Factor and throw around the word "D" a lot in their explanation of what it is, so the double entendres are plentiful....

I'm a fan of seeing how us P&R peeps fare on these types of things, so if anyone is interested the main website is here, and the associated questionnaire to measure your "D" is here.

Very unlikely, but if there is in fact perjury, he won't be immune to that possibility, just like Bill Clinton.

He's a federal court judge, 100% he didn't perjure himself. He was extremely careful not to perjure himself, thus the "he's dodging the question" complaints.

"Impeachment!" is just another liberal rallying cry for the midterms, same as with the President. Democrats have 0% chance of impeaching anyone, and that doesn't stop them from using that as a rallying cry to motivate people to vote.

Is this supposed to be a surprise? We knew the request would have to go through the White House.

Clinton was acquitted in the senate. You know, the whole due process thing that seems to be the main argument against the delay in the confirmation process even though it's not really applicable as kavanaugh hasn't been charged with anything.
