i understand the su5 damage taken is only for the wielder, but the patch c augments doublle attack +4% apply to all recievers?

Could someone else confirm this? I was saving up for it because I assumed the DA affected all players hit with songs by the wielder. BG specifically states the DT is only for caster so you would think it would make the same statement for the DA if it works the same way.

The DA effect works with the same logic of the DT.
It's not imbued into the songs, but it's granted by the weapon itself, according to how many songs you have.

This means you need to have Songs up, it doesn't matter if you cast those songs yourself, if you received them from another bard, if you cast them with Barfawc or Carnwenhan.
All that matters is that you have X songs buffs up on you, and then when you equip Barfawc you will receive additional bonuses.

Anyone can speculate over anything, but SE has not been the most consistant about labeling. Just because it's phrased the same way on the weapon does not mean it behaves the same way.

While I think it's likely that the DA is self only, does anyone actually have it to say for sure..?

If I recall correctly, it only affects the BRD equipped with it and not the other party members.

Claims it only works on the BRD, don't have to have it equipped when casting but as soon as you do (and have songs up) the dagger will get additional DA, that's it.

Works the same as Rostam's DT

I have it and I can confirm it does not work on party.

That said it is a great DT piece and a very nice melee weapon (mainhand) if you have 4 or more songs (Path C 4% DA per active song) as well as your standard very good MACC for landing debuffs.

Are we talking about Barfawc path C?
Last time I tested it it was inferior to all other weapons I tested

(Carnwenhan, Aeneas, Tauret, not sure if I tested Twashtar MH too).
I also assumed for the DA effect to stack up to 12 songs, which is the maximum amount of songs you can have.
I doubt the effect of Barfawc stacks that high, but even if it does it's still much lower dps than the other weapons I mentioned.

Does that mean Barfawc is bad? I dunno. It's not bad in itself, just inferior to other options and incredibly expensive for what it offers, I suppose.

I can see Barfawc being useful for a DD BRD with no Carn, Twashtar, Aeneas, or Tauret. However, I have doubts that one who could afford a Barfawc would be similarly unwilling or unable to make the superior options.

Beyond that, I don't see any scenario where a Barfawc wins out.
