When will this ***be over so this topic can die and we can get back to arguing about whether or not Donald Trump will win the 2020 election?

Who knows.
This will get dragged out pretty long and the outcome was already determined before the impeachment hearings started.

To the latter, unfortunately, The president will get re-elected by a landslide, but it will be interesting to see how much he will lose the popular vote by.

if we had just embraced communism already, we wouldn't have our Führer accused of such things (or any things!)

Wrong ideology, you'd have a Clinton as permanent President. Conservatives aren't the ones demanding socialism, communism or authoritarianism in general.

But hey

Democrats Good
Republicans Bad
Orange Man VERY BAD

There is no chance of 2020 being a landslide for Trump. Not even a good chance of it being a landslide for the Dem candidate, but pretty much none for Trump. I don't see him flipping any new blue states.

Quite the opposite. Democrats push for democracy, Independents such as Bernie push for Socialism, and the Conservatives push for totalitarianism/authoritarianism/communism/fascism. Just look at the way Trump cozies up to ex-KGB and dictators while insulting the democratic leaders of other countries.

Yeah, the Conservatives have been pushing for the decentralization of government and for a self-sustaining population, and that makes them Communist totalitarians. Makes perfect sense. Meanwhile, the Democrats have been pushing for more government control over everything, including policing your every word so that they can shame you out of office/business (unless you’re a Democrat), thereby making them the champions of Democracy. And, uh, Independents are all Socialists because reasons.

Logic!

Okay landslide is not the correct term to use here, but lets face facts, whether you like Trump or not his numbers against clinton on the electoral college will the at very least be the same and realistically, probably much higher in this election.
Trump will win period. If he does not, it will be a miracle.
There just is not a Dem candidate that can compete and whoever gets the shot at running against Trump is going to be in for a messy political fight (and they will ultimately lose) that will take center stage over all media outlets once the impeachment trial is over.

This argument is garbage. Whatever job being "destroyed" is going to be replaced by something else.

Um, his whole post was garbage.

Vic is forever hung up on the notion that the midterm elections, which historically favor the party opposite of the President, signify that Trump has lost the support of key battleground states. Never mind that Obama had much higher midterm losses and that presidential elections favor incumbents, and never mind that Trump’s favorability is higher than when he won the last election, and never mind that the Democrat field is relatively weak with no breakaway candidate and a highly volatile frontrunner, etc.

I’m not making that argument. My current thinking is that it will be close, but that largely depends on who wins the primary.

I think the Dems are mostly terrible people, but how this doesn't bother Trumpers is what's really confusing.

This requires more context. He’s certainly not cozying up to Iran like the last administration, given how he erased their top general. He’s catching flak for not cozying up to China, given his tariffs. Despite all the talk of him being Putin’s puppet, he’s not exactly doing much good for Russia either. North Korea is basically back at square one.

So, what specifically is he doing for these dictators?
