Fox News was easily the one channel most guilty of downplaying covid, and it lasted well into March. The only people who downplayed COVID before it was declared a pandemic were opinion pieces. Opinion show hosts are not all that Fox News are, and guess what, Fox News have been reporting COVID well before any other "news" sources in greater detail (please note that this clip was from January 30th). Even opinion pieces you so hang on as news sources were reporting it (this clip was from January 6th from the opinion show "The Five").
They were not downplaying it on the news programs and on the general opinion pieces, and some opinion hosts on their own shows were downplaying it, which is where you are directing your hate towards. But that doesn't mean that all of Fox News was downplaying it, especially since they were the only ones who were reporting it at all at such detail, as other "news" networks were focused only on the impeachment trial and acquittal.
You are incorrect. Just admit it. Your viewpoints are as biased and you are only focusing on specific items instead of the whole picture. You are literally somebody with blinders on.

We can argue tactics and which country's tactics/policies are doing a more effective job at curbing the disease than the other, but I will always argue to my death bed that they are not at fault for this. They didn't try to hide it from the masses, silencing doctors and professionals for bringing it to the world's attention, or failing to act when it started going out of control and leaping into other countries.
Bismarck.Laurelli said: »And the media played a huge part in all this because they only care about clicks and the propaganda machine. If you remember, the only network who actually gave it time of the day coverage when it first started was Fox News. Also, that noise you hear is all the liberals hissing at that idea.
What exactly was CNN/MSNBC/CBS/NBC/ABC/WP/TNT reporting during the start of this pandemic? The Impeachment of Donald Trump. Up until he was acquitted, you heard next to nothing about COVID-19 spreading across the world, and it wasn't until after the impeachment and the talking heads ran out of topics on how he got away with murder and people actually started dying that they switched stories to our current crisis. Then they started blaming him for it, like great little lambs they are. Xi should have been forthcoming, absolutely. But with all the leaked videos from Chins, so many of us knew this was coming. I was rolling my eyes to people saying "Happy new year" to me because I couldn't believe they didn't know the year was going to suck.
So if I knew, then all world leaders knew too. If anything, the worst part of what Xi did was he gave all other world leaders a scapegoat they could blame while they pretend they didn't know.

Simply amazing. Enjoy your 1.1 million infections because you believed they'd all get better and it would be fine. Good try. Enjoy your 6.6 million deaths in the UK because your socialist medical system was overwhelmed and underdeveloped due to your politicians lack of leadership.

I mean, only 1.1m infections would be a huge win for the US.

Fox News is literally the one network most guilty of downplaying the pandemic. They didn't even start social distancing in their own building until well into February. Jesse Watters had to admit he was completely wrong after openly mocking the idea. The only opinion host on that network that was sounding the alarm was Tucker Carlson. Everyone else was mocking the left for sounding that very same alarm. Plenty of other networks have run pretty lengthy spots illustrating the complete 180 Fox has had to do, while doing their best to stay in Trump's sunshine. The left was accusing Fox of fearmongering back in January when Fox was saying coronavirus was going to be trouble. Stop gaslighting.

Why do you think Trump shut down travel to/from China on January 31st? He did it well before any other country did, and he got called racist for it. This was well before it became a pandemic.

Can you quote me saying that at any time? Nope, you can't. Typical argument with you.

He also did it while the "experts" were telling ALL countries not to do it because it would increase fear and stigma, with little public health benefit.

lol, just ignoring all the instances of Fox attacking the left for sounding the alarm huh? It's cool, that's almost as funny as KN trying and failing to accuse me of 'playing the victim card." Which is hilarious.

Notice how Trump and Fox have abandoned the racist attacks of labeling covid the "Chinese virus?" Yeah, I did too. Seems like after the G7 told Pompeo to *** right off with that nonsense, that train got abandoned.

I mean, only 1.1m infections would be a huge win for the US. I'm lowballing because I don't want to exaggerate it for political point scoring.
We will be at that number by the end of April. Before it really starts to slam California and Texas.

Which is hilarious. I'm not ignoring anything. I'm literally blaming both sides. And I'm blaming all media. And I'm telling you all to stop fighting because you're just playing into the roles the puppetmasters have for you.

If the epicenter was from Taiwan and Trump called it "the Asian virus" then that would be racist. Instead, he called it the virus where it was originally spread from.
Or are you buying into the Chinese propaganda and think it was really the US military who created it?

Everyone was calling it Wuhan Coronavirus, whether they were on the left, right or center. Literally everyone called it that at the beginning. You did too unless you hadn't heard of it. Then, the CCP started asking people to stop calling it that because they claimed it would be racist to do so. Then all the silly NPC's programming kicked in and no one was allowed to call it that anymore.

And as a result there was a marked increase of violence against asians ... You can claim it's not racist but it certainly was feeding racism. This is BS.
No one was violent against Asians because the virus had Wuhan in its name.
Maybe a handful of weirdo's were more violent or aggressive than usual because of the disease's origin. Or maybe they were just exactly as violent or aggressive as they always are, but they just cited different reasons than usual. But it's only people who were already mentally imbalanced. And they would have acted the same way if this disease was called zippitydooda virus.
There's literally zero evidence that normal sane people saw the words Wuhan Virus, and had that spontaneously trigger some kind of violent reaction towards Asians.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-52164358Please tell me where I said I was surprised? Reread the above and look over your answer. I'll wait.

You'd say that even if he created the cure for coronavirus from his bedroom though.
Fortunately I don't have to entertain that notion.
So, today was the first case of the virus being confirmed in my rural county.
This last week has been pretty insane to start. Most grocery stores have been emptied, toilet paper is non existent. Bars, hotels, and casinos have been shutdown as of yesterday, our town relies heavily on these sources of income. There are now rumors that our mine sites will soon be shutdown as well. I plan to withdraw a substantial amount of cash from the bank tomorrow morning, and hit every store I can get my hands on to get some groceries before the hoarding gets any worse.
I have heard of California being on total lockdown, as well of rumors of people even being imprisoned for attempting to leave the state.
Curious to hear how other parts of the country are getting along, surprised there isn't an official Corona-Virus thread here yet.
Crazy stuff.
