Sounds like he had a stroke while typing then turned into Goldberg at the end.

I mean if you can complete a full guide while learning a new writing format, be my guest. I made some mistakes missing some stuff out. Doesn't meant anything. Spent 40+ hours on this to help people, why would I do that for "ego" get a grip.

Updated a bunch of stuff, added some aspects of other guides. Not sure what else is missing so if anything is noticable feedback is welcomed.

Looks like a good guide for aspiring RUNs out there. Using this guide along rune fencer endgame tank guide in BG wiki/Ruaumoko's RUN guide on youtube gives you a good insight on how fun/pain in the *** rune fencer can be.

If I could add a mild critique, you should try to reformat the placement of the text so that it is easier to read. You have some text aligned Left, some text centred. And there’s no indentations between paragraphs in the introductory section. It makes it hard to read from my phone at least.

I’d reformat it so that the text is all centred in justified text alignment. For the purposes of the guide it would make the text easier to read. I’d also try to reformat it so the text has some spacing if that’s possible. I don’t post often and only from my phone so I don’t know if it is.

I hope this didn’t come off at nit picking, it’s just it’s hard to take in the information when the text is cluttered. Thanks for creating an updated guide.

I tried to do this as much as I could which is the reason it's like that. I looked at it from different browsers, but will adjust.

Note that the word wrapping is all over the place, plenty of superfluous newlines:

Nice guide mate, ty for the tip on these bois, totally over looked them for cure!

Couple of those sets could do with some adjustments, to start with here's my suggestion for optimal One for All:
ItemSet 372895

Bidenhander swap alongside Utu grip if you're keen and can afford to drop TP

Edit: updated in line with suggestions, +1657 HP total (excluding moogle belt and weapon swaps(+200HP))

So a comment about format issues. The Node looks way different when editing which is where I based the preview on. However, I know now that it does not look the same in preview as it does in a post. I will fix any formatting issues and instead of making new posts like this one I will edit the top one on Page 1 with new stuff that will come or any issues I fix. Thanks for feedback.

Turms will be slightly better with the added STP, but loss of some defensive stats.

Great job, will be nice to have everything in one place instead of spread out over 4-5 guides :)
Couple notes though:

Tuisto earring is a straight upgrate to odnowa and should just replace it, since other DI items are already in sets.

Also, your section on rayke fails to mention that it also reduces the effect of the "nuke wall". Which, for me personally anyway, is what I use it for more often than not.

Keep up the good work ^^

Out of combat
sets.idle = {ammo="Homiliary",
head="Turms Cap +1",
body="Runeist's Coat +3",
hands="Regal Gauntlets",
legs="Turms Subligar +1",
feet="Turms Leggings +1",
neck="Bathy Choker +1",
waist="Flume Belt +1",
ear1="Dawn Earring",
ear2="Infused Earring",
left_ring="Stikini Ring +1",
right_ring="Stikini Ring +1",
back="Moonlight cape"}
Throw on Karieyh Ring if I am trying to DPS
in Combat:
sets.idle.Tank = {ammo="Staunch Tathlum +1",
head="Turms Cap +1",
body="Runeist's Coat +3",
hands=gear.PDT_Hands,
legs="Eri. Leg Guards +1",
feet="Erilaz Greaves +1",
neck="Futhark Torque +2",
waist="Flume Belt +1",
left_ear="Tuisto Earring",
right_ear="Ethereal Earring",
left_ring="Defending Ring",
right_ring="Moonlight ring",
back="Moonlight cape",}
Hands are Herc with 3 PDT

These are what I normally using. I stopped carrying around a full refresh idle set as I never used it.

Wondering what others are using

This is my non-engaged tank set:
{ammo="Staunch Tathlum +1",
head="Turms Cap +1",
body="Runeist's Coat +3",
hands="Turms Mittens +1",
legs="Eri. Leg Guards +1",
feet="Erilaz Greaves +1",
neck="Futhark Torque +2",
waist="Flume Belt",
left_ear="Tuisto Earring",
right_ear="Odnowa Earring +1",
left_ring="Gelatinous Ring +1",
right_ring="Defending Ring",
back={ name="Ogma's cape", augments={'HP+60','Eva.+20 /Mag. Eva.+20','HP+20','Enmity+10','Phys. dmg. taken-10%',}},}

I have around 3200 HP with food. I can see the logic in swapping out 20 HP for more meva on the cape but I'm an HP ***, I just want bigger numbers and IDK why. Can probably even swap out odnowa for eabani to lose more HP for meva, or even just make an alternate toggle for it. It seems like you trade the JSE cape and turms hands for moon cape and herc hands but I'm not sure that's better itemization. Definitely gonna lose a lot of meva that way.

My engaged set I swap the feet for turms but I rarely engage anyway if I'm doing pure tank cause engaging is for losers. What I do instead is cast stoneskin on myself and /sitchair 8 and chair tank to see how long I can go before these peons can force me out. Do recommend.

I should make some changes to that set for more meva, I also have this set I use when using Mensch Strap +1(and in combat), which if I am not engaging will normally have equipped.

sets.idle.TankG = {ammo="Staunch Tathlum +1",
head="Turms Cap +1",
body="Runeist's Coat +3",
hands="Turms Mittens +1",
legs="Eri. Leg Guards +1",
feet="Erilaz Greaves +1",
neck="Futhark Torque +2",
waist="Flume Belt +1",
left_ear="Tuisto Earring",
right_ear="Odnowa Earring +1",
left_ring="Defending Ring",
right_ring="Moonlight ring",
back="Moonlight cape"}

ItemSet 372672

Full Ayanmo will be much more macc, not sure if its worth carrying around just for that, but people have already be carrying them for BDT, Hybrid set, enspells.

I will update the macc ws sets and idle. The current macc ws set was used because it was higher macc than 5/5 anyanmo for Blind. The reason blind is cos of blinding Maju for reasons. I'm not home at my pc till tomorrow so I will update everything needed then.

What set modifications do you all use for in-combat swaps against these sets?

For harder content (where a mistimed dimidiation will result in bad things) do you all use a “stance” that locks a few pieces or do you have specifically crafted sets for each action that reduces the effectiveness of that action but keeps you safer?

None tbh. If the mob is strong enough to wipe me in a non-tank set, it’s probably not a mob I’m building enough TP on to WS anyway. If it is a mob I can play hybrid on, hitting me with tank gear down won’t really matter.

I have a PDT WS toggle that uses a different set for stuff like that.

Like for Dimidiation,
ItemSet 373274
Come to think of it, I probably need to review said set. I threw it together on the fly when bad things were happening in dynamis D. So don't take it as ideal or anything.

So Lunge/Swipe damage is raised by MAB.
I guess Macc has a secondary role into reducing possible resists?

But what about Magic Damage and INT? do they have any effect on Lunge?

Celebrindal and I were playing with that a while back. magic damage does have an effect on swipe/lunge. We didn't go into INT or how much weight they have, but we did see a difference with magic damage.
Magic burst also effects lunge/swipe if you are bursting, but pretty sure everyone knows that by now.

edit: now that I think about it, I think we did actually test stats and didn't see any changes. maybe they effected m.acc but I don't think we got damage changes.
