Mastery Rank Data

Run the lua. Do missing stuff. There are no hard caps.

To clarify, you caught novel fish, skilled up, and completed an RoE?

If by "novel" you mean "new, never fished it before", then yes, caught all 6 fish in forêt de hennetiel which trigger the 75 + ROE. No skill up. The RoE was trigger but unclaimed due to my full inventory (RoE 75 is 3 like).

My first thought was 75 is some kind of lvl/reward for “MR points ?!?” Maybe. I don’t know, but I have only done stuff that people have clearly say it MR up, someone posted the 75, did it.

Edit: will probably drop the medal and finish the fishes and see what happens

I finally hit Mastery Rank 8 today! I got it from completing the windy quest "Water Way to Go!" There's no title for it, but I've gotten several in the last few days. Likewise, I've really been trying to get as many campaign ops done as possible.

I'm almost to my 50th first place finish in Chocobo Circuit Races. Whenever I get a chance, I'll ditch my Medal of Altana and see what I can do it push back to Rank 8. Are there any suggestions for what I should do? (Preferably not Monstrosity if I can avoid it)

Besides the suggestions from the previous page, I'd like to know whether killing NMs that don't grant titles helps with MR.

yes!
...no :(

XIChecklist reported that one of my mules ( that has done most of the main story / random stuff ) ranked down to 3 the first time I logged in post-patch for login points. It's just a mule, so I'm not sure if it was actually 4 or not, but XIC had been loaded plenty of times while logging it in previously.

Ok, had to have a friend do that for me, but there my XIchecklist for MR8, sub 7000 (got 20 fishes and 1 mog garden title since my original rank up). Don’t know how to do the hiding thing so apologies

That really illustrates how much they lowered the bar for rank 8. I have some post from around 3 years ago with probably 1020 titles and couldn't hit rank 8, but now you can with 700 (and almost no monstrosity!). Congrats!

"It's all about the Titles Master Levels." ?

Between mine and others, first thing that come to mind with people that have 8K but mr7, is the lack of NM titles

Got Maze Overlord title and no rank up from 8 to 9 unfortunately.

Anyway, Are these sandworm location positions accurate, according to JP wiki? Are there any others?

東ロンフォール〔Ｓ〕 (East Ronfaure) (G-9)(I-11)(J-6)
バタリア丘陵〔Ｓ〕 (Batallia Downs) (G-7)(H-6)(I-7)
北グスタベルグ〔Ｓ〕 (North Gustaberg) (E-7)(E-10)(G-9)
ロランベリー耕地〔Ｓ〕 (Rolanberry Fields) (G-7)(G-11)(J-7)
西サルタバルタ〔Ｓ〕 (West Sarutabaruta) (G-10)(H-6)(J-5)
メリファト山地〔Ｓ〕 (Meriphataud Mountains) (E-6)(E-10)(K-11)
ソロムグ原野〔Ｓ〕 (Sauromugue Champaign) (H-7)(K-6)(K-10)

Just dinged MR8 after completing the yagudo stronghold fight in the past:

You guys think the AF from the coffers count toward the AF quests completion?

I found that Sandworm tends to roam quite far, though I most often (but not always) found him in the vicinity of the campaign forts. Several times I found him tucked into the ruins in the southwest of East Ronf (S), and once I even found him sat in the far southwestern tip of Saruta, right on the coast. In Rolanberry I once found him on the far east of the zone, down in the mountain pass with the gatehouse going towards the pond. So if you're trying to be thorough, check everywhere.
The only zone I'm unsure about is NGusta; I never saw him "up" the ramp on the Port Basty side, only down by the outpost. Not sure if he can spawn up there or path up and down the ramp (although campaign mobs can and do, so it's not implausible). I would assume he probably can, but less often.

For a quick scan I'd do a loop of each zone between the survival guide and campaign fort on chocobo, widescanning along the way to check the "usual" areas across all six zones quite quickly. Then I'd do a more thorough run through, looping around the whole zone (which is a great time to skill up your chocobo digging, if not already done). He and Dark Ixion always appear at the very bottom of the widescan list. Ixion despawns during campaign, Sandworm does not.

Back in the days we used to say that Sandworm always popped in the vicinity of the fort or the Maw.
Probably spawns close to the fort and eventually roams up to the maw if left unchecked for too long?

For anybody having this issue, Hipotion is aware of it and is working on it.

I've been providing him lotsa data (been having that error for a while).
It seems to be a problem caused by a small error in the xml.
While we try to perfectly understand where in the xml this error is and how it sometimes happens and sometimes not, there is a boring "temporary solution".

You can rename your xml config file if you wanna keep a backup, but basically need to create a new xml file. Which means re-talking to all the npcs etc.
Once an XML gets populated with the error, it's only gonna get worse (until a perfect solution to prevent it is found).

I'm sure the issue will be resolved soon, but until then if you're in a hurry to "fix" it, just create a new xml file from scratch for your character. Should fix it.

I can replicate. Recreating only fixes it for one load. I'll try to help debug later today.

Yes, noticed that, about to start a discussion about it on windower discord if you perchance want to follow and/or contribute

Monstrosity campaign is on. And others, obviously, but I know where the Monstrosity sickos post. See you all in Buburimu!

can vouch that it also spawns upstairs on the ledge. Have found it next to the ramp upstairs. As I was camping it at the time, I know it spawned there and didn't climb up.

I've noticed this, especially when entering Odyssey (not that Odyssey is causing it, just that's where I tend to notice it).

How do you force it to happen?

Edit: I see it's already been addressed in a new update of xic...

Just Dinged MR 7! Wing Skill 20 took me to MR 7.

I didnt read the 127 pages of this thread but thought it *may be* helpful info that I just dinged MR 2 on this char this char
I could post the XIChecklist data but just taking a look it *seems* like this char had a ton of stuff (all relics) Rank 10 in 2 nations etc.

I believe the thing that just pushed me to MR2 was turning in my Three-eyed Fish to become Adept at fishing.

Maybe that's not useful but thought I'd post it anyway.

Edit: I seem to have just hit 100 days playtime too so that may have been it...

I hit master rank 7 after completing the Windurst rank 10 mission.

Alt hit rank 3 after getting Quetz title in Reis in domain. Yesterday I killed a bunch of old hnms roc/simurg/cerb/hydra so got a bunch of big titles, and this one pushed it to the next rank.

What is the easiest AF quest series?

THF BLM SMN WHM NIN are all out on that one. THF or BLM are the worst. THF is a buncha horseshit and BLM can take a damn week.

I think BST wins

No random drops, no random spawns, no fishing lol, no time of day spawns

Edit; If it's the fastest one to reset multiple times, it's nothing with Eldieme Coffers.

OK, good to have a rough ordering. I'm taking my mule and leveling all but one of its jobs, then I'll do the AF quests on all of them. When I hit Rank 4, I'll be able to repeat all the AF quests while I test stuff.
