Ffxi Hdr

Anyone else trying this yet?
The split screen demo hdr mode was pretty stunning in difference.
Interested to see what people think about it on ffxi.

Where do you see the split screen? Is it the screenshot in that article?

I've seen what games that are not native to HDR look like when you try to "force" it and some are ugly. One of my TVs has a "forced HDR" setting that I toggled off because it made some Netflix shows look washed out.

Run the top one before starting ffxi on a elevated cmd prompt (right click run as admin)

To enable splitscreen, run the following command:
reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers /v AutoHDR.ScreenSplit /t REG_DWORD /d 1

To disable splitscreen, run the following command:
reg delete HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers /v AutoHDR.ScreenSplit /f

This adds a registry key. The second removes it.

AUTOHDR is an attempt to make non native hdr much better. It does a great job of correcting the washed out look, imo. Colors look vivid but I am also running reshade and dgvoodoo.

If it works, it works. I know my TV wouldn’t have it if it didn’t but it made snows look washed out. I’d try it for this.

Did it affect your frame rate at all?

I haven't noticed to be honest. If it did maybe 1-3 fps loss.
