I would absolutely love it if you could force a person to be unable to see your posts.
Disallow them from interacting with you, as just blocking their posts is insufficient. If I can block a person but they can still try to interact with me whether I can see it or not defeats the point.

Naw it's a fantastic idea. It'll save all the pedantic dipshittery.
Mutual block is a better description. If I block you, I should be blocked by you too. This is how it works in game. If I blist you, I can't communicate with you, it by default blacklisted me from you when I add you to my blacklist. So, say a person has me blocked, the site should block the person by default on my end. It should stop their quotes too, but that's probably too much effort. The site had dual blocking for awhile, it was disabled because it didn't work properly. I believe about 6 years ago.
how do they still communicate with you? isn't the only way for a blacklisted person to still communicate with you if someone else quotes their post? blacklisting isn't going to prevent it but in that case the go to strat is to play the harassment card so the mods hand out topic bans.
also i'm afraid the ppl you have beef with probably have a endless supply of sock accounts so blacklisting them isn't a permanent solution anyway. They'll likely see someone quoting you at some point and reply to it, or read/reply from a sock.
Some of the posters here are pretty sad people. this is a thing on gamefaqs boards. theres ignore which lets you not see someone elses posts, and theres blocking which also makes them unable to see your posts

Just stop being so damn sensitive. Nobody should have to go add a bunch of features because someone is so soft, another persons words hurt them. Not only is ignoring effective, but 9 times out of 10 it makes the other person that much more annoyed. Win win.
That wasn't expressed towards any specific person. Just a generalization. Just kiss and make up w/simonses and lets move on

You could've just suspended those people and left it the right way though. The people you block can just incognito window away from their session and see all your posts anyway. A quick copypasta of your post into a quote tag allows blocked users to easily side-step the feature.
In order for this kinda stuff to be meaningful, the whole forum would need to be behind an auth wall. You could just ignore them maybe.
