I was looking at wiki on how to calculate WS dmg. Does anyone have a close to solid number on some mob VIT, looking for endgame type VIT and merit party mobs i.e. Birds, Mamool, etc.

Also if anyone is good at these formulas I would appreciate if you could help me out as well. I'm looking at Death Scythe +1, and Apocalypse formula's for Guillotine and Catastrophe.

67 VIT on Greater Colibri is the only number I know right off hand. What exactly is giving you trouble with the formulas?

Well wiki is down atm ; ; but I have this same formula from their site.

Calculating WS dmg.

Damage = WD*PDIF = (D + fSTR + WSC)* fTP * PDIF

the VIT of the colibri will help me figure out my fSTR thanks, but the PDIF is still a little confusing to me how to figure it out etc.

I want to say fTP was giving me trouble as well. But not sure since wiki is down ; ;

ftp is merely the tp mod based on the ws. On multi-hit ws the additional hits are just 1.0.

pdif is a modifier based on your attack compared to the mobs def. It doesn't follow an equation so much as several really so they use a graph. There are 4 pdif graphs hi/low normal hit and hi/low crit hit. Theres things that say how often you will hit which one or where inbetween based on where you are but I forget them. There is kinda a long plateau at attack/def~1 so at that point small increases in attack actually do little.

ah ok, thats why stacking ATK for my guillotine made a huge difference, now that makes sense. I always just knew that it worked lol.

Everything you need can also be found here: http://www.freewebs.com/vzx-01/

The wiki pages are either a direct copy of those pages or they also got their information from Studio Gobli.

Note that the pDIF equations for 2-hand weapons were changed recently and we do not yet know the current equations, so be aware that your results will not match up perfectly with in-game results until those equations are found again.

WSC = floor ( floor((stat_percentage_1 x stat_1) + (stat_percentage_2 x stat_2)) x α )

any idea what they mean by floor?

It's literally just tossing the decimal. 89.1 becomes 89, 3.25 becomes 3, 95.9999999999 becomes 95.

In this case yes, you can also floor to multiple decimal points though this time you're just flooring to 0 decimal points. Floor's a pretty standard math term, that's why it's used, hehe. And just fyi in case you ever run into it, opposite of floor is celing, where you always round up.

Blah, I must be doing something wrong because my numbers don't look correct at all ; ;.

Could someone possibly calculate WS dmg for Guillotine w/ my setup? Calculate for Greater Colibri please. Show work please. I just went through all the steps and came out w/ 75.58 which I'm sure is completely off >.>

Any buffs? Chaos roll, minuet, food, etc?

Edit: And your actual atk value would be nice just so people don't have to look up what it should be.

To speed this along: what's your expected Attack in this setup? IE are you looking for a number with double Minuet, Chaos Roll, etc. Also, race? Full STR and Scythe merits? Food?

EDIT: Beaten lol.

whoops sorry, ATK is 564 w/ food. No songs/rolls.

STR is 73 + 43

MND is 53 + 5

Scythe fully merited. Hume.

Edit: Using Snow Gorget.

Ok, not sure I'm doing this exactly right as I've never fully calculated this but it looks semi right for non buffed numbers.

fSTR = ((73+43-67)/4)+1 = 13
WSC = ((73+43)*.25 + (53+5)*.25)) * .83 = (29 + 14) * .83 = 35 (floored)
WDMG = 98 + 13 + 35 = 146

Assuming the lvl 81 G coli (6 lvl gap)

pDIF = (564/322) - (6*.05) = 1.45

1st hit has fTP of .975 with gorget, rest are 1

(146 * .975 * 1.45) + (146 * 1.45) * 3 = 206 + 635 = 841

You will of course get a lot of variance from your actual pDIF rolls, but over time it should in theory would come close to this (assuming I didn't mess up math anywhere). I'm also assuming 100% accuracy which of course won't happen, but you should be able to just stick acc values into the last equation to get more real avgs.

edit: I think I messed up on my pDIF. ^^

You calculated it using cRatio rather than finding min and max pDIF and using the average between them.

cRatio = 1.45, minpDIF = 1, maxpDIF = 1 + 6/5 * (1.45 - 10/12) = 1.74

average pDIF = 1.37

(146 * .975 * 1.37) + (146 * 1.37) * 3 = 195 + 200 * 3 = 795

For your average 4-hit Guillotine.

Not accounting for 7% DA (also at fTP = 1.0) or accuracy.

Yeah but really doesn't pdif not actually tend to average? Like depending where you are on the curve it tends to stay near the min or max more?

yeah, because my guillotine numbers average slightly higher than those given. But those look correct compared to my 75 >.> And yes pDIF calculator please! or WS dmg Calculator! Allinone!

I usually assume Dia II is on the mob, which reduces a level 81 Greater Colibri's defense to 243.

564/243 - 0.3 = 2.02

Previously cRatio capped at 2, now I believe it caps higher but we're using the old formula so cRatio = 2.

minpDIF = 1 + 6/5 x (cRatio - 18/12) = 1.6

maxpDIF = 1 + 6/5 x (cRatio - 10/12) = 2.4

avgpDIF = 2.0, how convenient.

(146 * .975 * 2.0) + (146 * 2.0) * 3 = 284 + 292 * 3 = 1160

Beats me >_> I don't have anything better to work with so I just average it. When somebody puts out actual data on how the pDIF roll works and if it's not averaged, I'll change my methodology.

Reading up on pDIF stuff atm and wtf it's complicated, lol. I never really bothered looking at the details before. I dunno if taking the avg is really accurate either but would of course have to find more testing to say either way.

And didn't wanna assume dia since he specified no buffs too.

It's just base damage + 5, so I'll skip right to the end.

Using the math I posted averaging pDIF but not adding in Dia II:

(151 * .975 * 1.37) + (151 * 1.37) * 3 = 201 + 206 * 3 = 819

Unless the the 2X dmg hits... also has 1 higher fstr cap if that matters
