12pm 4,589,850 +152120 12am was 30k over, 6am was 30k over and noon, the highest performer was 10k under. EU player and did the dailies once, the day it came out. Might do one more for bronze and the aby rewards.
How do the Rewards from Plaudit work?
Do you "spend" plaudits to get rewards from each category? Or is it more a matter that once a certain tier is unlocked, you can get one reward per tier and that's it? Quote: Players also earn personal rewards based on their plaudits. The more plaudits you accumulate during the challenge period, the more rewards you can choose from, with the prize tiers ranging from Bronze to Gold. You can select one reward from each tier that you meet the conditions for. The reward items that can be exchanged for personal rewards will be changed each time the reward challenge is updated.

Honestly they hit the sweet spot in terms of refactoring the number. Being close enough that "Oooo if you tried a little harder you coulda gotten the EXTRA SPECIAL BONUS! Better try harder next month" is exactly what they wanted. I'm impressed they were able to extrapolate it that well considering their first attempt was so far off...
It is a little impressive, considering.
You take 80,000 bodies and assume 20000 will do it, and your second guess is 4000 and you just nail it. That's indeed quite impressive, and on only 2 or 3 days worth of data. However! It's also really gross that they aimed for 1/4 of the population, and got a 1/16. You can get 1/16 of any group of people to do damn near anything. So setting the bar at 5%-6% is really the absolute bottom.

Failure on the first outing, even if just the bonus looks terrible, but do they care enough to hide it. I don't think it looks horrible at all. It's not a start of a new MMORPG. Its some extra event in an old game and thry estimation for the bonus was expected to be wrong imo, because it's not like they could pull that number from any recent similar events, because there was none. On top of that, amount of people doing Ambu depends a lot on what Ambu it is. Lastly they made it daily instead of weekly, which is bound to be hard to achieve by people playing mostly at weekends. I would say a failure would be if they overshot numbers in 3rd or 4th month, when they will have enough data to make a good estimation. It's also important what they gonna fix in next approach (Rewards? More weekly, less daily? Not just Ambu?)
