I dont have those numbers, so I couldnt tell you. I do know the LSs I was in didnt have many real women. There were probably more manthras rhan actual women.

Speaking of numbers, I can tell you that they wont release Veilguard sales numbers, likely because they were so bad. Hahahaha

Uh huh, so you aren't going to pretend to know what you are talking about the way RA is? That's cool. Incremental progress.

Oh no he definitely made the claim, but later backpedaled when he got quickly called out for lying. Again. This is easy.

Also, just to note, someone that doesn't play FF14 blaming female players for the community being weird is utter ***. It's completely sexist, ignorant, and just a waste of time. But at least I am entertained watching Nynja try (and utterly fail) to defend the lifelong troll. I'm sure the person that originally said the community was weird wasn't blaming all the women that play.

You spend too much time in your echo chambers on Discord. You used to be good at arguing, now you're like a little angry baby.

I destroyed you everything and I barely put any effort at all, utter shambles.

Hey remember when you said Veilguard is breaking steam records, and then said player counts dont actually matter, then I correctly pointed out to you, with multiple sources, that those Steam records being broken were company personal records about player counts?

Good times.

Uh, lol? This never happened. You got caught lying about a community again. Just like all the times you lied about FF7R, a game you didn't play. You have never actually made an argument on this website, you just watch YT videos and try to copy them. You certainly have never destroyed anyone, least of all me. Nice try though.

Balatro got changed to an 18+ game

Clearly after not winning GOTY, theyve resorted to gooner tactics and making nudie face cards to push sales. I mean, why else would it be rated 18+ (no but honestly, its a *** poker roguelike)

Wait, are you copying RA and just making stuff up now? Game developers don't control ratings. Also, Balatro cleaned up at the game awards, I'm sure they are quite happy with their achievements there. Meanwhile, the wukong devs were literally crying about not winning GOTY. I can't believe they actually expected to win.

Hmm, here is an article detailing the Balatro dev's annoyance with the rating. It looks like it happened several months ago. So the claim that the rating was changed looks like a lie.

So you do read my posts. And here i thought you blocked me like Eiryl did because of how badly I dogwalk you chumps.

Anyways, the Balatro dev commented on the PEGI rating yesterday, and the article you linked is dated today. I thought it was a recent change for these reasons. I dont play Balatro, i dont care about its rating, nor do I follow news on the game. That tidbit popped up on my feed because the algos know I like gaming, and even if its not my type of game, Balatro is still a game. And I took the opportunity to throw a jab for fun.

Now having said that, I agree with the dev. Rating Balatro 18+ because its poker influence is too close to gambling when other not 18+ games have literal loot boxes which is more related to gambling and uses real money to partake in is ridiculous.

But hey, since you are replying to my posts: any comment on rhe Veilguard player counts breaking steam records when player counts dont matter, or you stayin silent there?

Uh, congrats to Bioware for successfully saving your studio while breaking steam records? Also, you seem to be copying RA again when claiming you achieved some sort of mythical "win."

Lastly, I don't block people, that kind of behavior is a big reason why P&R got shut down. Block a person then continue to attack them. Bad faith cowardice.

Jesus christ FFXIV's community is so weird.

Can't tell if this is a generational thing or what

FFXIV has an abnormally high percentage of women that play it, which is why it's so weird and deranged. When women make up a minority of players, the community tends to be normal (which is every other mmorpg that exists) and the women just play the game.

When the % gets too high, not only does it attract weird women that ship mamools with other mamools and write romance novels about it on twitter, but they also have literal unironic dance clubs where they perform paid dance emotes at each other with a DJ playing songs for the "club" to listen on on twitch and pay a sub just to take pics of their characters and/or mog house like anyone cares.

Also because of the high % of women, it attracts more mouth breathing guys who are only there cause womenz

It's basically Second Life for weebs, same kind of community.

Interesting theory, but what about the prevalence and almost encouragement of lgtb players and communities? Game has become very sexualized in part due to straight weebs, females, and a large LGBT community.

The numbers I'm seeing for Veilguard's budget is anywhere between 150 and 250 million.

The only reported number on its sales are "it broke 1 million", and that source is an internal leak which was met with BioWare going on a witch hunt for who leaked that information, and then followed up with how they wont be reporting any sales numbers.

Lets presume they hit 2 million sales (I dont believe they did), at $60 USD per copy (it went on sale at 35% off Dec 11, 5 weeks after release, thats not a good sign) and every sale is 100% profit (its not), thats 120 million. Even at the low end of the budget, thats still a 30 million loss. I dont think EA gives a ***because they're absolutely swimming in money with their EA sports lootboxes.

But hey, I'm pretty sure you said you were gonna buy it when it goes on sale (it might have been Afania, but I remember SOMEONE said that). Its on sale now, whoever it was can +1 those sales numbers. Or is 35% off not enough discount to show support for BioWare and Veilguard?

First of all, I picked up Veilguard a few weeks ago. I just don't have time to play. What am I currently playing? Nothing. It just took me 2 weeks to watch Say Nothing. I haven't played an actual game on my PS5 since completing Rebirth. I picked up Astrobot as well and my sister played it for an hour, saying it was obvious why it won GOTY.

Secondly, those numbers you posted are all pretty useless. The only numbers that really matter are Bioware's sales goal. If the game met expectations, then it's a success for them. Go make another one. (I actually think they are taking another crack at Mass Effect.) I think the only pressure being put on them was to show EA they can still make a quality game, which they did.

EA doesn't care about the final dollar amount because like you said, they make a fortune every year rehashing Madden and FIFA. They just wanted to see if Bioware was still a studio worth paying. I wish Bioware would actually pick up and LEAVE EA but that will probably never happen.

Dragon Age: Origins sold 3.2 million units.
Dragon Age II sold 2 million units.
Dragon Age: Inquisition sales reached 6 million units.

according to: https://levvvel.com/dragon-age-statistics/

Purely speculation on my part, but I highly doubt their sales goal was "lets at least meet the sales numbers of the worst performing Dragon Age game".

They announced they were working on a new Mass Effect Nov 2023, a whole 51 weeks before Veilguard released. They gave more details wrt Mass Effect 5 on Nov 7 2024, 7 days after the release of Veilguard. There is absolutely zero chance that in 7 days (5 business days) they processed sales numbers, decided if they would work on ME5 or pull the plug, and made up all the promotional material after deciding to keep working on it. There is absolutely no chance all that happened over 5 business days. Veilguard had zero impact on the current state of Mass Effect.

Afaik the leak says it broke 1m 2 weeks after release. In general first year sale would be 2x-10x of the first week sales, source:

https://www.gamedeveloper.com/business/can-week-one-steam-sales-predict-first-year-sales-

It looks like there is a high chance that my sales estimate on 11/3 is going to be accurate in the end, lol.

For a DA game, I think the more realistic sales estimate is 1-3m within 1 year.

I think it's a bad business decision in the long run too, even if your game fails. It will greatly decrease people's willingness to buy a game at launch in the future. Idk why EA did it.

Quote:

Honestly? I am quite sure EA already expected the sales result way before launch. I am not an industry expert, and even then I predicted the DA sales and pretty likely to be correct from the looks of it. I am sure experts from EA would expect that same number too.

IF they actually expect something way higher than 1-3m sales within the first year then they are being totally unrealistic SE style lol. They should have cut the budget and outsource to Indie or China to lower the budget if that's the case.

I said I read that it is a 7/10 game with semi-decent combat on higher difficulty mode, so I don't mind trying since I like arpg genre, and 7/10 is a good enough score for my games.

That being said, I still have like 46 games on my backlog, so it's probably going to take years until I get to it anyways. My backlog is first come first serve.

I don't buy games for political reasons. If I want to support certain political faction, I vote or donate money to parties. So if you assume Id buy it to support woke you are totally wrong lol.

To me it's not because ideology in game doesn't affect policy irl.

I may vote with wallet if it's market preference related. Like if I want more rpg being made, I may buy more rpg, so more investment goes to rpg games.

How does buying woke games change policy irl though? I don't see it personally. If I want woke policy, then I vote for woke policy. Buying woke games for it is useless.

If no one buys woke games, they stop being made.

If they are still being made and not bought, the companies that make them go under from lack of sales and that stops them being made.

Either way, no sales for a particular type of game, no more games of that type.

Idgaf about political driven policy, this is about a free market not politics.

Huh? You are the one who said "vote with wallet is still vote", essentially saying buying and voting in an election are the same. I was only saying they are different.

Woke game being made or not doesn't affect policy irl one bit. What's the point to support certain games for political ideology reasons?
