Does anyone have Intel Arc gpu (or ipgu) and can confirm that FFXI works with it? I assume it won't natively and requires dgVoodoo, but I wonder if that's enough.
" I ran it on my B580 with no issues at 1440p with 60 fps. The only issue I had was that the play online launcher wouldn't display right, either coming up completely black or a mess of pixels. I fixed this with dgVoodoo 2, which I don't remember being a pain to set up. After that though it was completely fine and ran smooth "
I works great -- but when installing dgvoodoo2, you must install all three d3d8.dll, ddraw.dll, and d3dimm.dll.
Failure to do so will result in POL not displaying properly because intel arc drivers do not have proper DX7 support.
I use a laptop with this igpu, I found that the the packaged drivers were problematic, even with dgvoodoo -- finding the gpu drivers themselves direct from intel solved everything, and the game works fine. I just won't update that driver again now that I have one working! YMMV.
I've tried this on an A380 and A140T, both resulting in various issues. Not saying it doesn't work at all, but went back to Nvidia/AMD after too much needless fiddling with a chipset that doesnt properly understand old DirectX.
To be more specific I'm thinking about playing on G3extreme from Intel, but I know none can really try it at this moment, because it's coming out later this month.
I’ve been playing with an a770 16gb for the last 3 years and haven’t had any problems other than playonline flickering. After reading the comments I think I found the reason why. It hasn’t been a huge issue though because FFXI plays fine with no issues.
