Surprise. I'm not dead.
Anyway. I'm very late with this. I had it made shortly after the Final Fantasy set came out and a buddy of mine gifted me an alternate Shantotto art featured on the Chocobo Bundle to make a Commander deck. I, like many that played FFXI, had been very annoyed at the lack of XI representation over all the obvious XIV and VII shilling. So I took it into my own hands and made a proxy deck, and after months of keeping it to myself and playing it on and off, I've decided to share it with all of you! The theme here is Windurst/[Shadowreign] Windurst. Lots of campaign heroes and callbacks.

And my Self-Inserts:

All 100 cards for a Commander format. I also want to say 100% no-AI, but the water effects in the land cards weren't coming out very well--but apart from that, everything here was done without aid. The commander was centered around Shantotto, hence the Enchantment Auras featuring her Trust moveset, but I've since moved away from her to add a less aggressive commander. I'm a very casual player. If anyone analyzing this set stops and goes, "wait wtf, WHY?!" it's because I chose the cards to induce chaos and conversation, and not necessarily any sort of win condition. It does have *some* firepower and nonsense, however, given the right cards are drawn.
I had a lot of fun making these cards. It's inspired me to make more, but I know that it would only serve a niche audience. Making each card does take lots of time, so if I were to open up commissions, I wouldn't expect anything on the cheap side. Feel free to reach out to me on Discord (sevthesoporose) if something like this appeals to you. Otherwise, enjoy!
