Dark Rider

Just wondering has anyone actually tried to kill this thing before? if so what did they try

As far as I know, the Dark Rider was only available before Square released Einherjar.

I may be wrong tho.

It was not possible at all to kill it.

after reading on FFXIclopedia on it, I've never seen it before.

its an NM that pops randomly throughout most of the Aht Urhgan areas. I had a linkshell party at the northen Colibri (the lvl 61~65 ones) and a Demon NM popped on us, and aggros and killed half our party, then 'Dark Rider' comes strolling along and just runs by, but then just despawns right as it gets to that Alzadaal Undersea Ruins zone X_X... I took a screenshot somewhere, but I'd have to find it >.>

you can't kill it it is party of the story line it not a nm

i seen him during an exp party before einherjar, but iv also seen his scouts after the einherjar update. i seen dark buglar not that long ago.

well you would think if it wasnt killable they would make it so you cant engage it

Dark Rider can't be damaged. He was put in with the ToAU cutscenes that hinted of Odin's existance, and does not aggros. However, the monsters he spawns as he runs DO aggro, and are 75+. Used to have a SS before I had to reformat my HDD, doubt I have it anymore. It looks *exactly* like Odin, just with a different name, and cannot be hurt.

Oh...I'd also like to throw out. Don't bother voke/flashing him on PLD, then using Invincible to see what TP moves he uses. Sonofawhore retaliated that with a Death cast spam.

I havent even heard of the minions he spawns tbh. Are they actually killable or do they spam Death as well?

Dark Bugler may be killable

Dark Rider isn't.

No matter what you try to do, he will cast instant death on you before you can even damage it.

Friend and I saw rider in thickets near the low 60's colibri camp. We were on 70 bst duo messing around with leeches and colibri. Dark Esquire (demon that pops with dark bugler) is killable. Took about half an hour of throwing leeches or colibri at it, but it did eventually die. I don't recall how much exp it gave, but it dropped nothing. Not even crystals. D:
