I used Soil Gorget instead of Fotia because my alt didn't have any of them.

Here's some 1k data points, I'll start working on 3k. I assume this is close enough to a 5% spread?

...

I believe this is currently sitting at 4.44~4.48 fTP @1k and 13.8~14.1 fTP @3k. If I did the math right

I updated my post with more data. I'll keep going, just had a break from collecting for a bit

Something feels weird about these WSs or SE stopped using nice numbers. I get Lorg Mor as a ~38% STR/MND mod (or 40% STR or MND, 35% MND or STR) and 4.25 at 1000TP scaling to 14.875 at 3000 TP.

You can use your gorget tests to determine that you have between 467 and 477 base damage. Stage 4 Lorg should be 260 with fSTR, so that's 207 to 217 WSC. The weapon gives +30 STR/MND, so it seems unlikely it would be uneven. Did SE give it 45% STR/MND mods and reintroduce the WSC level scaling factor (iirc 0.83 the last time I dealt with it)?

Anyway, using that base damage range you end up with something near the fTPs I proposed above.

Not sure about how to scale things independently, but for the windower/vanilla issue, that UI scaling setting is in your windower profile and overrides what's in the ffxi settings program. Set the windower one to whatever size you want
By echohawk on 2026-02-14 17:39:23
I'm trying to up scale the size of my ffxi base ui (chat log, vanilla menus, etc.) without upscaling the size of all my windower UI. An addon I started using (Xivcrossbar) doesnt work well with the windowers UI upscaled and cant be shrunk (by me at least lol).

When I use vanilla ffxi config to upscale ui it seems to be reset to the smallest value when the game is played through windower. Is this avoidable? I got it to load once without shrinking vanilla UI but I havent been able to do it again

ma proc, different TP values when firing it off, PDL AM not being up if its being utilized, change in buffs/debuffs etc

Do stage 5 have an occasional increase in damage during the weaponskill? I’ll average 74k zesho meppo and sometimes it’ll spike up to 81k+ around every 10 weaponskills. Is anyone else noticing that or can explain it.
da or ta proc maybe?

I had AI build me a working login points addon but I gave it a few examples and conversed with it on the best ways to go about inputs ended up mapping out timed key presses
which is amateur hour at best

It also helped me read through the widower documentation for useful things like login logout event triggers so I wasn't just guessing on when to start the logout process or when to start moving the cursor.

I ended up walking it through most of it but it helped me with things I don't really like which is for loop iterations
It helped keep the code really condensed around the addition of down+ to help navigate to the next character on the login screen

All in all I ended up with a lua script that would start on the first character while logged in, logout via count down or instant accounted for via mog house and roll through all 16 and back to start.

but I would never trust myself with sending packets, unless I had an expert also helping me.

It seems to have been a temporary thing.
I just checked and the Aribone one is no longer displayed either.

Oooo weeeee this sounds freaking great on my new speaker setup! I haven't even tuned these yet!

I just finished building my new desktop speakers yesterday and got a new DAC with an active sub output. I hooked up this ancient Sony sub I've had since I was like 19. I'm still trying to come up with a unique subwoofer design, but it's hard since subwoofers really need specific things for them to sound good.

Other than that, my plans for the carnival are quite modests.

Just using the 5 days without work to progress in my python and blender studies, playing and exercizing here and there.

My first blender character is taking shape already. and Im still on my secnnd tutorial!

I hate it.

It was hard to walk to the gym because the amount of semi naked sweaty *** obstructing the way was high even though there wasnt any party around.

The restaurants were all of them full and with lines. I had to pick the yesterday noodles, a bunch of eggs, tomatoes and onions, and had this for lunch.

In Rio even dogs celebrate carnival!

Hope you are having a great carnival Panta!

The ones that were good before get better at +1, pretty obvious.

The special effect weapons are bound to their effect, and most are not that useful.

+1 onion sword with as much MA there is now available looks pretty good.
By Goltana101 on 2026-02-14 09:38:21
Malefic Axe does pair nicely with Diamonds Aspis. A second off Ready timer into perpetuity would be neat if practically all Ready moves weren't complete trash and there was one worth spamming an infinite Skillchain. Any of the decent ones are 3 charges and 1 Second off 30 is nothing. The fact that it would require two Bonanza Weapons to benefit from that kind of niche is even more annoying.

Pretty much all of the weapons are memes except for like three of them

Farsha is a fantastic axe for bst, and calamity hits like a truck with it too.

Farsha/Shield is a lot of fun, most fun I've had on bst since the rampage days.

The trials for it are particularly excruciating though, fair warning if you go for it.

This has probably been a known issue, but can't get my Selubdrile COR Lua working smoothly. Constant sel-utility.lua;2164 error that I have no way to get around. Any help greatly appreciated. Using aeonic gun in slot.

It's not the end-all-be-all job like you pretend it is. It's powerful in its own way, but has lots of glaring weaknesses that you casually gloss over while pretending it's some Mary Sue job or something (not just here, but in like 50 other threads, unprompted)
I assume this is just because you main RDM and not some weird personal grudge of some sorts?

Carbuncle.Maletaru said: »
Wall of text to explain why RDM is still in desperate need of more buffs.

RDM already had a fantastic time during early FFXI, then a small drought and ever since they got their job adjustment they dominate solo play while still being popular for plenty of party content while others jobs can't solo at all and aren't popular with parties either. Yet every time SE adds new gear they keep playing favorites with RDM.

Carbuncle.Maletaru said: »
Their ranged damage is also very, very bad. They have no threat tools, so they can't tank anything that has human players on it.
They are on Ullr and can wear quite a couple of nice shields but can't out DD COR and RNG nor replace PLD and RUN. SE really needs to address this asap.

Carbuncle.Maletaru said: »
Both 1hrs have questionable utility most of the time, TBH. Compared with Wild Card, Soul Voice, Bolster, Mighty Strikes, Unleash, Astral Conduit, etc.
Considering to how they butchered Astral Conduit I think most SMNs would trade it for something like stymie.

Carbuncle.Maletaru said: »
They have no natural AOE, debuffs or nukes.
They have access to Aeolian Edge without needing to sacrifice their sub job. They can more than make up for the lack of AoE casting with their cast speed and duration and they can still /SCH if they'd really need to AoE their spells. Not to mention that AoE damage is nerfed in most content anyway.

Carbuncle.Maletaru said: »
can't replace any buffing job
Yet they often get the GEOs spot.

Carbuncle.Maletaru said: »
It has dogshit attack and no ways to improve it.
Near-0 PDL gear options (not that it matters too much, since they have terrible attack)
Asura.Vyre said: »
RDM is indeed a god. Maybe even a God! I can't go slack at all on any of the DDs I play in my 8-boss static, or my group's RDM beats me like a redheaded step child!

TBH the whole post reeks of ACTCHUALLY so much so that the stench even rubbed of on my reply.
By maletaru on 2026-02-14 00:27:37
It also has 2 dogshit 1hrs, so even if it were a competitive DD (it's not), it wouldn't get an invite anyway. Not over Yaegyasumi and Mighty Strikes. Even if WAR didn't have berserk, heavy armor, tons of HP, Warcry, or Tomahawk, it would still be better than THF in Gaol.

Jobs in FFXI have niches, that's just something you have to accept as a player. Unfortunately, some of the niches are tiny and basically worthless in modern events. It is what it is. The game is not balanced for all 22 jobs to be equal.
