So it costs you 437 mp to return 850? So without a conserve mp proc you net 413 mp? Could do 2 nukes with af body and otherwise same set, should net you closer to 1200 mp seems more efficient.

This one is the one I saw this morning (though apparently was posted Sunday). TAS, but appears to be very non-optimized. Seems like sub-10s should be possible. As far as I can tell, this guy out of Brazil is the originator of the glitch. He only picks up Snail weapon and the arm upgrade, which seem to be the bare minimum required for the glitch to work.

This one appears to be human on hardware. Unlike the TAS, he gets the Wire weapon. I guess the goal is to speed up the fights against the sword mid-boss and Sigma Virus, and as a bonus it makes the arm upgrade easier to get.

I don't know who else here might care about speedrunning, but a holy grail type skip was discovered for Megaman X2 a couple days ago.

I listen to video game music more than I listen to non-video game music these days. It's the best for me to work to, I can lock in so good with some SNES music or lofi mixes of game music.

That said, I like FF4 Chocobo music the most. Probably my nostalgia from being my first time riding them. FFXI chocobo music is pretty dang good too.

is it worth it to get Rostam or Crocea Mors?

Croc C superpowers Enspell RDM and Magical WS (especially with Bunzi's Rod), and it's one of the more unique ways to DPS. I use it frequently on anything that takes good to great magical damage. It's how I exclusively solo VD Shinryu, as he takes reduced damage when his wings are down, so your damage changes primarily from WS to Melee, and it pairs nicely with Ayanmo hands +2 and Orpheus's Sash. Also makes WS like Seraph Blade, Red Lotus Blade, and Sanguine Blade extremely powerful, Sanguine being a full heal and you're practically unkillable with an enspell+sanguine strategy. It's amazing to me. Now you can get Demersel Degen +1 R15, but it's not even close to performance in terms of enspell output. It serves a completely separate purpose than the ceremonial dagger 0TP enspell strategies. Croc C is one of a kind and a fabulous weapon. Also not to be overlooked is it has 20% Fast Cast base on the weapon. Paired with RDM's native 38%, you only need 22% more in gear to cap. This is phenomenal for spells like Impact (which every RDM should be using), but any spells in general where you want to prioritize a different stat but still keep capped FC (ex. Raises with Conserve MP gear). The huge Magic Accuracy chunk means you can retain high land rates at the same time as well. There's nothing I don't love about this weapon.

As far as Rostam, I think all paths are great for different purposes. A for shooting, B for Meleeing fast + WS (It's absurdly good on Xevioso V25 with Earp, for example, and I think they used B for August MT vs Teodor), C for rolling. It's pricy to get all 3, so I would say prioritize C > B > A in terms of use.

- Is there any good use for Omen bodies besides lockstyle? I got a few of them from Gobbie Boxes and AMAN orbs but they don't seem practical in the current game.

IMO the bodies are all niche in current game. Ashera Harness is good for BRD TP. Nisroch is good for crit am3 builds. Udug is for BST/PUP pet MAB Build (lol), Dagon is for Subtle Blow builds, and Shamash I use in Idle set on GEO for PDT, Refresh, and a resistance to annoying silence, since i'm usually within range of the enemy. As Nariont mentioned, the bodies all have high resists statuses, so you can play around with that for builds if you cared to (hey, WHM with a high Resist Silence rate is not nothing). They're not the craze they once were, but you can find a use for them if you care. I'd say Dagon is the most useful of the bunch as it gives the 2 handers the ability to get capped or close to capped Subtle Blow.

Thanks for your replies.

One more quesstion: I got super lucky and got a Combatant's Torque from Gobbie Box (+15 combat skills and +4 Store TP). Is there a good use case for this in the modern game (COR BLU THF RUN WAR).

Currently using Asperity Necklace ("Store TP"+3 "Double Attack"+2%) for my TP set and the TVR STR neck (10 STR 30 Atk) for Savage Blades.
By Mrsnafu1975 on 2026-02-11 10:54:34
We are looking to start small and build of course so not looking to kill em all from the get go, I am getting some great advice though. I do not see Amin on our radar for a good bit tbh.
By Nariont on 2026-02-11 10:50:04
That, mystic boon, and spirits within can all be used without breaking a SC iirc
By NynJa on 2026-02-11 10:48:20
Before I say anything else, Sanguine Blade not having any SC properties means it can be used freely without interrupting skillchains, right? I'm 99% sure this is accurate, but part of me is doubting myself.

- With the power of Naegling and Savage Blade is it worth it to get Rostam or Crocea Mors? I have full Malignance and D.Ring so the DT isn't a big deal for me, I'm not sure the Phantom Roll duration is worth the money, and I have Tauret for piercing. Crocea seems more like a fun / niche weapon. What are some fights where it shines?

Which path of Rostam? C is used for potency, not only duration. It gives the best rolls in the game so yes, it's worth it, especially if you're trying to do the endiest-of-endgame activities. Also, having a Rostam (or maybe Lanun Knife path C) is necessary to get rolls to 10m duration (without wasting merits in duration), which allows you to always have at least 1 roll with Crooked Cards on it.

Rostam path A & B are very powerful tools for shooting/meleeing for TP. When you aren't using SB, like Arebati or other ranged strategies, it is incredible and unmatched for TP gain. It's also very useful for stuff like Hot Shot strategies (Dynamis D comes to mind). These aren't the most common activities, but if you're going to do them, you'll get a lot of value from the STP Rostam especially.

Crocea is used for enspell strats (see: V25 Ongo KI#1) and places where elemental WS are the most powerful/useful. Again, Dynamis [D] is a good example, though there are some others. It's quite niche and not something I'd prioritize right away, but would eventually suggest getting as it does get used sometimes.

Shamash is nice for the resist silence and has decent PDT, but it's been mostly replaced by empy, IMO. Ashera is still EXTREMELY good for BRD and RUN (DD set), pretty meh for the rest. Nisroch is OK for an AM3 set for COR and RNG, but pretty unimpressive TBH. Dagon is incredible for the SB II which is unique for all of those jobs. Udug is supposed to be good for PUP nuking but who gives a ***about PUP nuking?

- Does anyone have links to good WKR cheat sheets? I need to beat them some day and it's hard to find a good all-in-one guide.

They are all very, very easy with proper endgame gear. The only ones that are mildly challenging are the ice lion (because proccing his aura sucks) and the tree (because of doom). You can get an extremely good Holy Water set that will have a very, very high chance of removing doom and I think it's only like...3 pieces of gear? Or bring a WHM, friend or mule or w/e. They die in like...2 minutes to properly geared and buffed DDs. Even solo, it won't take very long or be dangerous at all. You can summon trusts mid-fight, even if you have aggro.

The durations only half of it, +1 roll does its own work and is also something noting else can give you, whether its worth it is up to you but naegling is only the melee dmg part of the job covered, still got the whole buff aspect. Likewise croc covers the magic dmg aspect and cannot be replaced with something else. Worth it? Up to you.

Largely just for the resist+, ashera's is still an okay TP body just due to lack of options, dagon has subtle blow II so small niche there, nisroch may have a spot in True shot/crit builds, not sure there.

Not sure what you'd need a guide for, go in and smack them up, bring a lot of holy waters/remove doom set for tree and possibly expect tiger to take all day due to full dispel+para aura that can be annoying to remove solo iirc
By Nariont on 2026-02-11 10:36:33
It's all a balancing act, if the group is able to pump out all the dmg theyre capable of without grabbing hate with plds base tools(DNC having jumps they'll be able to utilize if timers allow), then is /runs additional generation needed, if not then /sch gives you a small time save with slapping sneakga on everyone, could aoe a weather to pump out a lil extra atk+ on the naegling user.

It's just whatever works within the group to squeeze out a few extra seconds, that might amount to a few minutes within the whole run, outside of a few baselines the rest will depend on the cohesion of the group as a whole as to what is "best".

You do know you can just let them have the set, and not give your opinion about it, and then argue about it for 40 posts, right

Yeah, and then some dumbass will play the game like an idiot for 5 years because they read this thread and thought that Bunzi Rod will out-dps their Marin's Staff, so long as you build this OA set and swap weapons every 5 nukes.

I try to actually contribute to the conversation for the betterment of the community and for people who read this ***down the line. I understand that not everyone likes "hostility" or being questioned, but I think it's important to properly contextualize the discussions we have here, and to have a spirited debate about the "best" way to play the game.

You know, like what people would do on a forum.

Not sure where i can toss in much more, but abstracting PLD's usefulness in DPS situiations is limited to 2-3 bosses if youre primary purpose is holding up party at Aminion, and E/F/H. Thats the bulk of your points, if you're on 9-boss runs. If you can tinker some DPS in to your kits, awesome. Those mini's A-D are ~3mins a fight. Don't overinvest in sets WS sets. IMO holding the party up is PLD first job. /run > /sch, if your mates aren't holding up the party waiting on you to take a status off that meds should be doing, or putting buffs up that you really dont have to worry about. Those enmity/kiting sets should be tinkered to max enmity, regardless of TP swap/loss. There's a ton of good suggestions in comments and tactics where PLD makes a difference using /ja or collaborating on timing during certain engagements. Have an awesome time with it. Good PLD and mostly errorless runs are the difference between 50-70+k runs. Get those reps in 8)

Thunder 6 is free and produces 1000 TP for Myrkr.

Free in the sense that it "produces enough TP to immediately Myrkr and restore whatever MP you used". Is how I understood it

When you say "free" Myrkr set...are you referring to free like...the Myrkr more than pays for the Thunder VI?

Because this set doesn't include AF body, so it definitely won't be free (not costing MP).

It's a very neat set and I think it will be a net-positive in terms of MP recovered by casting this spell...I would point out that it requires several pieces of Merlinic with OA, also requires you to waste your time casting this Thunder VI, and also costs you several hundred MP.

...again, I think all this memeing around swapping from club to staff to Myrkr, then back to club, wasting time, inventory space, and MP...so you can Myrkr. When you can just wear a staff, nuke like 4 times in regular gear with full potency nukes, then Myrkr with the TP you got from those 4 nukes. No need to futz around with all this nonsense.

So recommended then /SCH or /WHM as PLD doing this?

My problem is the Campaign Enemies aren't popping.
By Nariont on 2026-02-11 09:38:18
Also you don't need /blu for fomors, long as you have reprisal going(may not even need that but why wouldnt you have it up?) you'll block just about everything the upstairs fomors can do, just avoid the mages obviously

Tatena Haidate +1 R15
Coiste Bodhar R30
Sailfi Belt +1 R15 in place of those 3 pieces?
Also are you subbing Blu or something else I am wanting to try to solo D on PLD
Thanks a ton

The real winner was a taru with two astral rings, and 1 HP lol. i had quite a few parties where they got 1 shot.
By Mrsnafu1975 on 2026-02-11 08:28:16
I do not have that ammo, legs or waist
Curious if I could still solo if I just sub out to different pieces for those 3.
Also I do not have Excal, my swords are Almace and Naeg guessing I could use Almace with Level 1 Duban or Srivatsa?
