While doing them in order in tenemos 1-2-3-4-1 if I split up between how many times a character took 1 chest(back to back 5ks), 2 chests, 3 chests, or all 4 chests(so it was the same original chest that was the last 5k) this was my distribution over last 6 weeks (sadly lost some of my earlier data) between 2 characters
1: 5 times
2: 7 times
3: 6 times
4: 5 times
It never took more than all 4 chests. While more data would be great that looks like probably a 1/4 split to me, and I would assume it is without significantly more data or a reason to expect it to be other than a 1/4 split.
Now amongst the earlier data that was lost (always back things up or windows will get you with those updates!) was a time where one character had 4 5ks in a row and the other had 3 5ks in a row, if we assume it is a 1/4 split that is very unlikely to happen but the game does like to mess with me and at least for once I got extra points out of it. I have to just consider that to be an outlier unless it is repeated.

Are you sure about that Philemon?
Beause I was pretty sure (but again, maybe I was just biased) it could be any except the last one where you got 5k.
It sorta makes sense. They created this system because, likely, they wanted to promote people to use different routes, or at least open chests in different zones instead of doing the same exact thing every bloody time.
This was their intent.
As a potential confirmation for this, a lot of people who did the same exact farming route (opening the same exact final chest) claimed they've never seen a 5k after the first time.
So because of these two things, it stands to reason that in theory the 5k could roll on any chest except the last one where you got 5k.
I was more wondering if it's just that, or if waits until you've "completed" a cycle (i.e. got 5k in each zone) before it resets and starts again.

Still I'm wondering on a part.
What we know for sure:
1) Each given time for every single player, out of the 4 chests you can open in each zone, one will be 5k, the others 3k
2) Each time you open a 5k chest, it will be "rolled" to appear on another of the 4 available chests for the next time you open it
What I'm wondering for part 2 though is: Is the roll pure random? So it can be any of the 4, even the same one you already opened?
Or does it rotate until you opened all 4 5k chests then it rotates again?
Example, let's say chests are called A, B, C, D.
If I find a 5k chest on A, next time can it be any, A included?
Or will the next time be possible only on B, C and D?
I assume it's the latter.
Assuming I'm right, let's say the second time I'm lucky and I find 5k chest on B.
The next time where will 5k chest be able to pop? C and D only, or even A? In your example, if you get 5k/matter in A, the next 5k/matter could be in A again.

Some of us already noticed the odd pattern on the 5k chest, on an individual basis.
But we kept wondering if it was confirmation bias or if it was something true.
Nice to finally find out that it is.

Assuming I'm right, let's say the second time I'm lucky and I find 5k chest on B.
The next time where will 5k chest be able to pop? C and D only, or even A?
Basically I want to know if the 5k chest cycle resets only after you've opened all 4 chests and found 5k one in each (at that point it can pop on any) or if the system is simpler, and it can pop on any chest except the last 5k one you opened.
Does anybody have solid data on this? Because I don't and I'm not able to tell.

does this have any practical application? didn't see anyone mention it but just skimmed the thread
Most people wouldn't care, but it does work out as an accessibility feature. Some of us rely on our ears to be our eyes.
So fun fact, those thud sound effects are treated like /tell chimes and <call> sounds: they ignore your sound settings. So much for, say, listening to music or videos in the background.

i suppose that isn't as bad, still mildly annoying though to spam bazzar every few minutes (depending on what you're doing)
If you're doing it "every few minutes" then you can just raise the bazaar to like 500k instead of 950. You'd only do the 950 thing if you wanted to 1-by-1 the gil, to spend 950 instead of 1000.
If what people say is true about the DA % scaling with the gil you have though, these strats are all pointless.

If it's true that the double attack ammo still procs 25% while only depleting 10% of total gil when it's below 1k it would still make that ammo BiS at a heavy discount exclusive to people who already benefit from the reward multiplier - multi boxers.
They'll simply have their pocket GEO hold the DDs gil and feed them 949 when their threshold falls below 50 and they don't need to go all out.
SE made this to funnel gil out of the economy and instead of draining it where most of it is accumulated, the multi boxers, they let the solo players pay the bill.
(that image gets old fast) ....as a broke dual-boxer: i would rather use it the normal way, even if it was triple the cost, then spam trade gil every minute to try and cheese it
is there even a reason to cheese this? if you're super broke i guess, but once you get far enough in endgame though you don't really need to worry about gil too much unless you are buying clears(dolt) or making a shield Buy a stack of wooden arrows, keep them in bazaar for 949 gil. No spam trading needed.
Still annoying and stupid, just saying that spam trading isnt necessary. i suppose that isn't as bad, still mildly annoying though to spam bazzar every few minutes (depending on what you're doing)

To answer your question, I've been saving up silver vouchers for a while:
Also, if anyone care about this double attack effect, I went out with a Level 1 Club and Offhand Kraken Club and I confirm that the DA+100% completely negates Kraken Club's OAX features (due to how we understand Multi-attack processing to be prioritized). Every mainhand swing does 2 hits + 2 hits in the offhand with Kraken Club. (Obviously, this is pending the 95% or 98% accuracy cap, whatever it is these days).
Source: https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Multi-Attack
If I missed something or you want to see other tests, please let me know.
Also, this test cost me about ~100k. :)

I would imagine 8th was ITG, then rainbow pop 9th, then terminal

Wow, SE said: "It's even better than you anticipated!"
This message appeared when the reward chest transformed into a Prismatic chest ...so I guess, the Hint upgraded from an LT Hint to a ITG at the end of the run. But what did I get from the ITG loot pool? A Gusterion. So...yay?

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, this thread is moving very fast and hard to keep up with, especially while sleeping but...
We can now hit the new tier of Horde Lullaby II radius with the new neck piece, assuming you're ML46+ (50 to wear a bit less ***gear)
It requires dual-wielding 2 Kali and makes lots of other sacrifices so it's unlikely to ever be worth it, but it's now possible. Also requires all JSE+4
2 Kali (+20)
Daurdabla (+20)
AF head (+14)
AF Body (+15)
Empy hands (+22)
2 Stikini Ring+1 (+16)
Gersemi Earring / Darkside (or Musical) (+15)
Relic feet (+16)
Harfner Sash (+5)
Erato's Cape (+4, only if ML46-49)
Hoxne Torque (+30)
Base skill should be 475 with merits and ML50.
