More likely its not going to continue to progress at the same rate as you go up, the ta and phalanx that is.

|
 |

It doesn't matter which NMs they are, because they face the exact same problems and have the exact same design brother.

Does anyone have any of the new gear at R25+ yet?
I have the sworn feet at R22 and currently they have TA +4% (goes up 1 every odd level) and phalanx +2 (goes up 1 every even level). At this rate, it's looking like it will be TA +8% and phalanx +6 at R30, which is what we thought the augs for the body were.
Is it possible the 3 levels of augs we thought were by slot (head/body/etc.) are actually by quality (NQ/HQ/HQ2)? For example all the HQ2 sworn pieces are TA +8%/phalanx +6 at R30?

LITERALLY
SAW
THIS
YESTERDAY
...on my tiny backwater. We weren't the only alliance on the basement NMs.
I've never been the only alliance on the basement NMs.
Asura/Bahamut talked about having hundreds of people there.
Maybe not for the tiny baby ones, but again...they have to design it assuming there could be any number of people there. They can't say "HURR DURR WHO CARES IF 70 PEOPLE SHOW UP?!"

I'm not sure what they would do with more weapons though.
The 1h weapons arent of much use offhanded and there are already plenty of choices. How about upgraded glowy armor?

CS on H is better imo. Usually only takes 2 casts, but not worth risking it by using Spontaneity.
Stymie Grav on F.

Also I'm pretty sure people have stated that unique data from NM's can only be gained in pt/alliance, so going with two alliances means some people aint getting credit for ***lol

Ambuscade armor +3 upgrade requirements? (besides the new items paid with ambuscade currency so you couldn't stock pile it a head of time) 1 pulse armor for each piece!

I saw a lot of talk about high numbers with Dagda, but no sets posted. Are we just using the Judgment sets? What TP does everyone usually WS at?

G: dia 3, frazzle 3, distract 3 (lands first try every time)
H: gravity 2, dia 3 This is INCREDIBILY useful, many thanks!
Grav2 shouldn't land without Stymie on F if he's in windhands though, right? Should land in a few tries on thunderhands.
Likewise on H Grav usually takes a couple of tries to land, correct?
for F, if the RDM isn't using Chainpsell for other occasions, I like to bind it first, then Chainspell for Gravity II / Distract III (multiple immunobreaks requried sometimes, sometimes not). Just an alternative way to go about F on RDM.
We do Stymie Grav for H and then if Stymie is up for F we use it on him, if it's down (depends on the run) we use CS Bind then Gravity until it lands, as this other poster said. It typically takes 2~4 Gravitys to get it to land on F. I've never tried the CS strat on H, but it might work.

Some fair points, I don't disagree about skipping shield blocks/DT being cheap or unfair, I just don't see a whole lot of alternatives (and haven't seen any suggestions either). If you ignore the physical damage/WS, basically every one of these NMs become jokes (even more than they otherwise are).
FWIW, I'd basically never killed any one of these NMs before last night. Went out with a group of ~14 and we blasted through like 6 of them in <5 minutes each with no tank on any of them. Their difficulty is wildly overblown.
I did take some fairly heavy damage from some of them (with LR up and no defensive buffs whatsoever, on DRK), but survived all their nonsense.
If you have a healer (or a Foenaria) you will be fine 99% of the time and they die in a very short period of time to a well-prepared group.
If you had more than 1 alliance on these things, they would die in probably 60 seconds. If there was a PLD on there and the PLD was blocking and sentinel'ing like normal, it's highly likely you'd kill it before the first sentinel wore off, with nobody taking any damage from anything except AOE WS. They'd be even more of a joke than they already are.

Same gear list on the JP side, so there is a chance they haven't updated the campaign yet.

Could also add more ambuscade weapons, maybe just remake more of the pulse weapons with ilvl equivalents with their same unique bonuses. Really need a marksmanship ambu weapon too, preferably both a gun and a xbow... I just need something to use all these pulse weapons I have on.

Guys, we need to find a 12h/day work for Nynja.
He needs a job ASAP.
He could be over there, getting rich or making the world a better place, but no.
It is just sadness in a gaming forum.

That is why I think the best art is created when you dont need to sell it to survive. Thats called a hobby.
However theres the whole "to survive" part that throws a big wrench in that plan.

Comparing job performance between a 10 min fight and a 3 min fight is definitely a difference to take into consideration. I can easily see DRG pulling ahead of SAM in a prolonged fight, but for a 3 min fight, I find it hard to see SAM being beaten. SAM spends the entire fight under Meditate, but RD/WC/RD is a lot of Jumping for DRG. SAM also gets another good 1 hour back with a 5 WC while DRG would need a 6, though that 6 would give SAM yet another Yaegasumi which is absolutely huge.
I'd like to give DRG a try just to see, but as I mentioned, our group doesn't have a DRG.

I just do double mambo + malignance and they can't do anything physically. Then I'm usually on BLU too so I put Occultation that lasts like 2 minutes if they don't wipe it with some aoe. The only NM that was hard for me was GEO, because I had no way to silence him for a long time and he summoned like 5 luopans on a map where changing the place of the fight was very hard.
Blu or blm I just white wind after each nuke (white wind has ridiculous healing power with hp+ grace on top of my optimized set).

I'm pretty sure the approach is "graces buff HP and stats a lot so it's fine".
Just get more graces, not a big deal.

Assume they just forgot to add it in the note

If the upcoming campaign makes the old AMAN drops more common, does it make the new AMAN drops (Hoxne) less common?

Depends how many millions I guess. With 4 DDs, my group typically kills the w3 bosses in about 11-12 minutes, including 16 adds. W3 bosses have 20m HP i think? Do you really believe that there are multiple alliances of supertanks and superbuffed DD's hunting down the NM's daily???? Not even on Asura, imagine on the other servers lol.
Either way, to close this topic on my side.
"But if you don't nerf them that way, then they become too easy and die in 7 minutes!"
I paraphrased, but this is Maletaru's point more or less, right?
To this I have 2 things to say:
1) One thing is nerfing to some extent the defensive capabilities of players against these NMs, I would be all for that. It's a different story entirely if they IGNORE BASIC GAME MECHANICS completely. I find this approach an extremely cheap way to handle things from a game design point, it's absolutely despicable, jm2c
2) Mobs become easier, less annoying and die faster. Ok... and?
We're talking about Limbus, an easy and relaxed content aimed for casuals, and more specifically we're talking about NMs which are a small part of the content overall. I mean, they die faster and they're easier. An army of PLDs or WAR with /WHM sub can cheese them.
Okay... and? It's *** limbus, it's *** nms you fight a couple of times each month, who *** cares if they're easier?
We're not talking about super competitive content where you strive to find the best and fairest balance possible, there's no leaderboard, there's basically nothing attached.
So what if people cheese it? Who cares lol?
Like content has NEVER been cheesed in 25 years of FFXI. Spoiler: yes it has, the large majority of times, and like 98% of those approaches have never been fixed or denied by SE.
Are we really seriously saying that these stupid NMs should be the pinnacle of FFXI game balance and design? C'mon!
In content like this QoL should be the main focus.
And regardless of that, having such a stupidly cheap way to do something that has (almost?) never been done in game (have mobs completely ignore a large part of basic game mechanics) is real dogshit in my book.
And sorry if I sounded too aggressive or on fire! Nothing against Maletaru specifically and personally!
Also blah blah my english sucks I know, not my mother language etc :-P
