You got a fair point there, but I feel that only applies to the current model of "one KI per day".
If you could store KIs kinda like Omen ones, then I feel the scenario would be soooo much better.

But we all know they don't want to do it.
Like someone on the previous page questioned, I too honestly question if this model they followed for the last few years REALLY works or if it doesn't actually obtain the opposite effect.
I wonder... are they right? Maybe they are I don't know, but without solid data to support their approach I remain skeptic about its real long term utility.

Likewise for Odyssey fights, like 20 mins instead of 15, a lot of groups would be able to win instead of timing out. Would be a keen way to make the content easier without resorting to direct nerfs.

For stuff like sortie though I would do the opposite. Instead of raising the total time, keep it 60 mins but add PROPER teleporters to the boss rooms. Even doing it only for the upstairs floor, would allow you to save ~15 mins of useless running around. And what can a "pro" group do with those 15 more mins? Not much, farm like 5k more Galli, big deal.
But what could an average group do instead? Do a 9 boss run instead of an 8, big difference!

I couldn't agree more, hated that part and how me or someone else always picks the wrong floor at least once every run.
But if you use the Superwarp addon, you can just "//li port" and it will bring you to the next floor, or exit if you're on the last.
There! Problem solved! Personally I love it and made my Limbus experience sooooo much better.
Still boring but at least without the menus frustration/annoyance

Probably a silly question but are you getting buffs? Doing say something solo or low man with little/no buffs can make the tp bonus off-hand a bit of a issue though depends on what you're attempting to kill, at some point you just gotta have distract and/or madrigal etc

when doing actual content i generally have a +8 bard and cor buffing. hardly ever had a Geo in my group. gaols is a bit different since that's more mob dependent, and also i'm usually on run as of late. i think i'm attack capped though generally speaking? Sortie basement and V20+ on T3 and bumba maybe not?

i've been told this from people checking my sets in game when i throw them on. i can't say i blame them given how hard the fights can be, i do expect people to be very picky. I'll make my nyame rp a priority when i see people doing it.

Probably have the wrong mindset for goals but i've been trying to do V25 as i go for my personal clears, need 3 more nms in T2 before moving on to T 3 with this mentality.

Thank you! If I were to implement a NG+ (as suggested above), I was considering unlocking the alternate weapon-types from the start (and have them upgrade alongside the swords). I think it would be a way to help keep things fresh.

Theres more than just "CN Objectives"

If you dont clear the NM's for the monthly tally, you aint getting *** all for Matter from the boxes. Again, I play on a server that lost out on a month because of this. I think I got 2 or 3 matter across 6 chars over 4 climbs. There was no point doing Limbus for that month. This has essentially been fixed by implementing CN and requiring the NM's to be killed, so its unlikely this situation will ever happen again.

Additionally, you get credit for a free box from killing the NM's.

Are they telling you you're undergeared from checking your sets, or from experience?

Those sets are 'OK' in DT, but MEVA is a little low, compared to what's available with Sakpata. Think I counted 38% DT which could be better. PDT is good for adds, which can hit hard, but DT helps with everything, including fetters and hybrid/magic TP moves.

Finish RPing your Nyame.

You can run 5/5 Sakpata or 4/5 with Empy body. This will help with your DT/MEVA. Decide if you want to cap DT without Shell taken into consideration in the event it can be dispeled.

Survival in gaol is key above all. Lessens burden on your healers, and the fights are more about execution (and a little luck) than it is about full blown damage output. Better to gear defensively as a result, in my experience.

Carrier's/etc., is best suited for when you're receiving the appropriate barspell (WHM present). Not worth it otherwise as far as I understand the resist requirements.

Finish RPing your Nyame.

Check the evasion you have set for the mob. You want cento. It's the best offhand. If you're struggling with accuracy, make that a priority. Sublime Sushi + Feint will go a long way. Otherwise, prioritize extra accuracy as needed. You'll gain more damage from using cento and swapping in the acc pieces.

If you can get capped accuracy (or close to it), then TP bonus offhand is the best offhand by a wide margin. If you can't get capped accuracy, Aeneas is terrible (TP bonus not applied to offhand), Ternion is fine, crep knife (if you have it).

Whether you hold or not depends on a lot of factors. Are you able to self-SC? How much HP does the mob have left (will it die from this WS or not)? Are you wearing the TP bonus offhand?

I think best case scenario you're probably getting AM3 then spamming at 1k, though it depends on what SC, if any, you're doing and how many WS it takes to kill whatever you're targeting. FFXI isn't a game where you have a single gameplan.

I'm using the calculator and my DPS goes way down with centovente. WSdmg is up but overall dmg is way down. I assume the thought behind why it's better is mobs don't last long enough for your TP dmg to matter?

I am currently struggling with ACC. Don't have any +4 and still missing 2 malig and 0 nulls.

As someone whos server missed out on a month because no one killed our NM's, you literally have incentive to kill the NM's.

Would personal incentive be better, sure, and they added it with the freebie chests (I dont think the ratio they're currently using is that good, but still). But to suggest theres no incentive is just wrong.

hey i was wondering if anyone could give feed back on my sets, which to be honest before wanting to ask this question i thought my sets were much better. my Nyame can go to R20 but only my feet are actually R20 currently. for sakpata the body and legs are r15 hands are r16 and feet are r5.

for example, this 1 set is actually copy pasted for all my weapon skills, Fimbulvetr, Impulse drive, Upheaval / kings justice ect. which it's been so long since i made the lua sets i didnt realize.

When asking about the TP set, i often get told i am not geared enough for V20+ T3 gaols on War, that i'm too squishy. what would need to change from this for gaols?

I know there's room for upgrades like the waist item could be the belt with a bunch of elemental def on it, whatever that's called. But besides that i'm not super sure what i can change. My lua will automatically put on my Schnnedick's ring on when i walk, which replaces the chirich ring.

I use my warrior for just about everything, limbus sortie odyssey ect. So i want to be as good as it can be, even though i'm missing gaol augments.

Talking about isekais (again), I thought only isekais were plagued by those large descriptive names.

But looking at the news mangas updates, I saw this title:

They missed the mark on making NMs worthwhile to fight aside from CN objectives. I would have loved to have a legit incentive to track em down across the floors and fight them. So many unique targets (jobs) with their own little quirks that some require different approaches. But for the time / effort it takes to kill one, and the little progress made...it just doesn't seem worth it. Especially on smaller servers, where there's minimal participation.

Aminon reportedly has 1774 evasion and that checks out with the ws acc I needed to land WSs (eyeballing). The basement bosses are in the 1550-1620 range depending on the boss, I forget the exact values.

As for defense, yeah I have no idea.

If you can hit sortie basement bosses you're way over cap for V25 so they're for sure less than 1550. I wouldn't be shocked if they were under 1400 evasion too. Xevioso might be the exception, but wiki lists V20 as 1375 ACC needed to cap so I doubt it.

Easy fixes:
1) fix the armor. NQ should cap at R20, HQ1 R25, HQ2 R30. if base stat difference is 1 point, needs to be some type of incentive to go for higher tier gear.
2) Allow towers to be opened individually or in current format. For single tower openings, 25% of matter, 0% chance of crafting mats, 3000 points. Full tower climb 100% matter, mats, and 5000 points. caters to casual and hard core.
3) Formor NM's need spawn more often and be either lottery or timed. These drop a 3k chest, again with 25% chance of matter.
4) some type of KI that allows for 6 man instance of omega/ultima fight that drops 3-5 matter. be this gained from exchanging jewels, random mob or nm drop, idc. Just more ways to gather matter.

Atm current rate for matters is 2.5/week/zone. If your lucky your looking at 10 weeks for 1 R30. Almost a year to finish 1 set. Its excessive. They need to incentive crafters to continue making the armor, and make it reasonable to upgrade.

Good call on the subtle blow, my eyes overlooked that. Thiefs biggest weakness, by far, is the monstrous tp feed we offer to anything we're fighting.

I personally think they went a little too timid with the SB on the gear, but that likely comes from us sharing the gear with MNK, the masters of SB,

I've often thought we needed a stance ja wherein strikes would steal tp from a mob. You know, like a THIEF.
