Just to clarify, my intent was to provide potentially useful numbers for all people reading the thread and maybe even you two.

1) I really do respect both of you
2) I don't think either of you is "wrong", for the same reasons you exposed.

Mental instability or "abnormality" is defined as behaviour that significantly diverges from the norm.

Norm being what the majority of people do, left to their own devices.

If I see a person kicking a puppy I don't immediately assume they're mentally ill, Afania case in point.

That sounds more like a you assumption rather than fact. If everyone went around kicking puppies, that behaviour would be both accepted and normal, same with any other behaviour.

No I didn't! Granted that my sets for Impact and the rest are pretty much the same, because of inventory restraint.

Anyway you and Nariont said STP+4 on the neck wouldn't really change much, so SB+10 is better. Well, SB is undoubtely nice, but the first part isn't exactly true, at least with my numbers. Which might be slightly different from yours because atm I'm not using BiS gear.
I'm tryin to use gear that can be shared by both GEO and RDM. I could augment Merlinic Head/Body with OA but not now, maybe in the near future.

But I digress!
Here is the data I gathered. First numbers are with the STP+4 neck, the ones in bracket are with Bathy Choker +1 (i.e. 4 less STP).

Impact: 1046 (1014)
Thundara3: 748 (725)

RDM
Impact: 1110 (1078)
Thunder5: 580 (565)
Blizzard5: 506 (493)


Now of course you want to know more data about how I obtained those numbers, here are the values:

Geo STP: 31
Geo OA: 120
RDM STP1: 58
RDM STP2: 39
RDM OA: 120

RDM has 2 STP values because one is used for impact (Head/Body locked) the other is used for the rest. On GEO I don't have this choice because there's no STP head/body, RDM gets Malignance.
On GEO I'm using Null Shawl instead of JSE cape.
Also for both jobs I'm using Dignitary (3STP) instead of Dedition (8STP) because it's muled.
RDM could get even more STP on neck, Anu Torque 7, Ainia 8.
But I have both of those muled so, again, inventory saving for old Sechs!

I do own Bathy Choker +1 btw and it's not even muled, I use it for a couple of Evasion sets.
But I think I'm gonna stay with my STP+4 neck on my OA sets for now.

Are you equating hurting puppies with mental instability? Afania just seems to enjoy it, seems pretty sane to me.

700 carry-over per month with ~2100 points per month is probably designed to stop us from getting two 1500 point items, which means we might start seeing 1500 point items that are somewhat relevant.

Yeah I had same assumption, their intent was probably to give a forewarning but should worded it like "Starting with November Login Campaign period [...]"

I can recall at least two situations where I was blackout drunk and woke up to awesome gear:

Defending Ring: shortly after it was made a spawned NM.

That's a very metaphysical discussion. I agree good/evil are both human made terms. Would an extra terrestrial know inherently what either of those mean? Probably not.

All the same, in human society there is a gray area, then there is punting puppies off a bridge. Funny, but no sane person would do that and I challenge you to find evidence otherwise.

Similarly, is a person that digs up bodies to filet, cook and eat them evil or not. Most people would say yes, even if that person sees nothing wrong with what they do.

This has nothing to do with religion or deities, just commonly accepted human behaviour in a society vs not accepted behaviour.

Different societies do and have historically decided differently, there are many examples of human flesh eating that was both common place and accepted in that society.

DB hasn't been collecting data for like 12 years. It's definitely not sub 1%.

It really does need to be fixed or removed

I imagine it's counting kills for the 5-2 Mission as well as it lists every drop below 1% on the Shadow Lord page. None of his drops are particularly rare.

It's obvious which players are willing to press a couple more buttons or, Altana forbid, actually pay attention and use that supposedly big brain to help the team of supposed humans they are in do more things, get more muffins, whatever, vs the people that would just go "*nah not doing that*" at instructions more complicated than simply singing some songs on a 12min timer then afk-ing.

The second group sounds like a fun bunch that any group would love to take along.

Here's an example of how sharing information, even smaller details can "help" other groups:


Dex's group is very efficient and tenured, and he mentioned his group doesn't use Slow on Aminon to feed him more TP. I've been in other groups where they DO use Slow/SV Elegy to "help" control Aminon. Turns out, you don't need to bother wasting your time debating with Slow effect on Aminon all; I've posted in the past from Lute' video that Slow status effect does nothing vs Aminon. Apparently, even experienced players weren't aware of this and it's at least 7 months discovered.

I've seen similar instances of group differences in strats, but a simple suggestion helps optimize the group even better (ex. Binding Gartell before Stymie Gravity II, using BOG during Bolster so you don't have to resummon 1.5 bubble, SCing bosses/Stun rotations etc). A lot of times, groups will copy/paste other people's strats but not be aware of the mechanics at play or how they can make their runs better. Sharing information helps, and when you run the same boring event every day, I think that's a welcome suggestion to get the most out of your runs. It might be a small tidbit that is <1% difference, but better is still better.

You didn't specify the set was for Impact, you just said general "Occult Acumen". Impact is just a swap of one piece in and leave head empty, but Impact is on a long recast timer, so you will need to use another spell anyways to keep up with TP.

Bathy Choker is as Nariont said. Residual or Diminishing Gains, what brings more to the set, small STP or focusing on TP reduction of Aminon. I don't know what the highest STP neck piece is that GEO can use, but it's either such a smaller amount of STP or I don't have it, that I didn't think it was worth bringing for an extra inventory slot. I guess if you really want to minmax, Incanter's Torque for low chance of free magic proc, but with Aspir that doesn't matter either. I just pick whatever is the most practical, and Subtle Blow is helpful when you're trying to employ a strategy that keeps the monster's TP as low as you can without triggering a move.
