I wonder if it was due to this "bugged" +4 that a JP person reported getting a few weeks ago, shortly after the Accessories came out. I haven't heard/seen anything other than this though:
They claim they simply traded the +3 to the Furnace and it spat this out. I will try find link and post on edit.

Well now that they added the matter and that it's 100% you would not have the ability to upgrade anything without it now
Because you would get one on your first chest.
You also couldn't talk to the furnace before completing one chest
Just a weird check to add at this point
The NPC wouldn't interact with you if you didn't have enough points for the armor piece before

Yeah, if your server (or your group) doesn’t kill those NM, you will have a whole other month of dead limbus.
At the same time, those A-team that killed those NM won’t be doing that for months (they will get their accessories done in 2 months and don’t ever turn back), so if your server has the chance to have them clear, clear your schedule next month and log every limbus you can.

That seems to be by design. So the choices are suck it up and do it, or don't do it at all. It's not a well thought out design, and even killing all NMs won't do anything until the next month.

Also, theres no "stock in box", if I'm understanding what you're trying to say, you cant store matter anywhere. It was a loose guess at a potential error they could've made. Perhaps the initial intent was to store whether you earned an upgrade and handle it through the furnace directly instead of using an item. If there was an exploit, that would be my best guess.
Obviously it doesn't matter much, since if it was exploit related it's presumably fixed now. |

The duration bonus does work for enlight/enlight II and is very nice.
