we are adding a new kind of points that are based on how much damage you inflict against the notorious monsters.

This points system is a direct response to your request for a reward structure tied to actions such as inflicting damage on the notorious monsters within Limbus. Once you have earned the required number of points, you will be able to open one additional treasure chest. This will increase the pace at which you can earn the matter needed to reforge your equipment. Plus, these points do not expire, so you can keep them until they're needed. Additionally, the Grace buffs within Limbus increase incrementally depending on the total number of treasure chests opened in the World, so the more that are opened, the stronger the effect will be.

These points are awarded not only when you inflict damage on the notorious monster, but when your party members do as well. I recommend you form a party and take on the monsters together if you're using a job with lower attack strength.

The absurdly long upgrade process

JP will complain at how long this process is and they will release Moogle Amplifier 2.0

Hands and Feet are interesting for sure. The lack of STP is disappointing. PDL and Crit aren't doing much of anything with SAM's TP/WS split. However, QA is similar to a Zanhasso proc.

Lehko's in terrible for SAM. (and every job IMO)

I would do Hands first then Feet. Feet compete with Sakonji sune-ate +4 and Ryuo Sune-Ate +1.

Wonder how long this is going to take?

Assuming you have nothing at all now.
Around 10 weeks for each piece, so ~6 months of doing both zones 5 times each week. It can be slightly faster with that extra chest from NMs points, but if its only 1 random chest per month, then it will be like 1 week faster.

I'm fine with there being some OHKO things, and I'm all for not making these fights overly boring.
I think in their current state there's a bit too much ***going on though.
They don't need to go from one extreme to the other, but some small tweaks here and there would be apreciated, imho.

So anyone figure out how to actually put the augments ON the gear, and rank it up?

From what I know, you take the crafted gear, get 5 shards (of respective type to the armor), 1 alabaster , and 1 murky matter, make the jewel of the respective type and trade it with the "cursed" armor piece, that turns it into the uncursed equipped armor. I've confirmed that myself.

I've tried trading the uncursed armor with shards of the same type, nothing happens. So I'm assuming you have to start making more jewels and keep trading those with the armor? How much RP does each jewel make?

If this is the case, they probably should have just made "oh, trade shards in to augment it" leaving the matters to be used for accessories or make more jewels to uncurse more armor. I've run a couple runs this week, gotten shards from every run, but not matters or crafting materials each time (sometimes I get a material, maybe a matter).

No one even doing a bg-wiki page on this ***yet?

So each rank is 5 shards and both zones Matters?

Yes. Also, first 3 levels of units/RP line up with the accessories. Was expecting HQ1 to have 25 RP levels, like the necks, but it has 30, which is nice for being able to level it up and transfer when needed. I would guess NQ would be the same too (30 levels of RP)?

It's not a bgwiki page, it's 75 for all the new armor, 75 for all the cursed items, a bunch of crafting materials, shards, information on chests (which is still being validated), information on NMs (which is still being validated), etc. We haven't had an update this massive in a long time, so if you are finding the info on bg lacking, please feel free to do the research and help contribute!

That's the order they were listed in the DATs, but it'd make more sense for head/legs to be 5% and hands/feet to be 4%. Does the NPC offer any way to verify short of making and augmenting the gear?

Finished my Twashtar! Kept an eye on Ansherekh the whole time I was in the zone, but between Asura having AH supply at 300k/Hide and cleaving the Surveyors at Conflux 8 (the raised area where Rani is), I didn't need to farm as many as I thought. Probably cleaved... like 5/40ish Hides? Not as many as I had feared I'd have to.

(You can cleave the Surveyors forever because they [almost always] die in one Aeolian Edge hit and avoid giving amber light. Melee the one straggler who resists every few cleaves down and get pearl instead. Shoutouts to the poster who mentioned them, I have no idea who you are but I'm pretty sure it was someone on this forum at some point? The other mobs I tried didn't consistently die in one NIN/WAR Aeolian Edge.)

Cleave was 0 lights. Literally nothing but pearl and as much ebon as I built up in the zone. Any amount of amber pushed me into the tier 5 pyxis range way too fast.

Sarabha's drop rate is frustratingly low too, and I honestly ended up getting that hide that from an amber pyxis at least once when I was aiming for Ansherekh's hide. We take those!

Are these the right augments for the new Clemency set?

Head: Clemency somen > QA+4% Enmity-8
Body: Clemency haramaki > QA+6% Enmity-10
Hands: Clemency Kote > QA+5% Enmity-9
Legs: Clemency haidate > QA+4% Enmity-8
Feet: Clemency sune-ate > QA+5% Enmity-9

Units would block players from capping in 1 day.

Units are at least predictable. Matters have RNG.

Matters randomness can gtfo.
I guess unity being a cockblock could be reasonable. You would be able to rank one piece every ~3+ weeks.
I wonder if someone was keeping with Limbus clears from the start and has enough unity and matters to push R30 first week :)

That would let people to RP to 30 at day one which would be silly. It would only make sense if Shards were Ex, but then it would be even more frustrating with shard being dependent of race.

can anybody trade the items to get gear or do you need a crafter?

You need crafter to craft cursed item from materials (or someone get NQ cursed armor from Gobbie bag and put on AH).
Anyone can buy cursed item from AH or from crafter directly and uncurse it in Limbus's furnace.

I think there are a couple gear winners, bard and dark knight But holy crap, that's a lot of energy for a side grade..

Lots of the pieces are not side grades at all. They are clearly better. Especially if you don't plan to use Ampulla. Not to mention lots of pieces has several use cases.

How are people honestly looking at these sets and calling them side grades? That sounds like some serious cope and frustration due to the absurd grind, but these sets looks phenomenal.

The Justice/Magnificent/Duty set alone has DA, TA, STP, Subtle Blow, -DT and very good defensive stats to boot. That's like 3 sets in one. For a job like BST that is incredibly slow to DPS, that's a huge bonus.

ffxi players will find any excuse to complain

I'm not sure that advertising this app as a browser-based client simulator was the best way to announce what you've actually created here, which is a single player version of FFXI that balances nostalgia with a fairly challenging and interesting gameplay concept.

This is honestly an amazing achievement, and I think that the only reason that you're not getting more of a response is that people assume that this is just a model viewer as opposed to an entire self-contained game.

Other than the rebranding suggestion my only request would be that you implement some type of NG+ mode where the enemies have increased stats, etc. It would probably become too difficult to continue with at some point, but figuring out where that breaking point is would be part of the fun.

Shared this point with Aamace too. The first thing I thought when I saw the title was "Oh, is this gonna be another Spreadsheet turned into a Web App"

I wish this had more attention. Because it's the most fun I've had with something FFXI related in a long time. It tickles a nostalgia part of my brain, while adding some incredibly engaging battles.

Here is the Ultima Forerunner page. Let me know if there is something you see that is incorrect. I pieced this together by copy-pasting info from Omega Forerunner, Proto-Ultima, and replacing all the information I could with the notes players left on the Limbus 2025 thread.
