I'm kind of in the same boat at you being at a low level (forced to stay at a low level to play with friends). The boring answer is basically don't pay for things you don't have to pay for and use the auction house as much as possible to save/make money.

You basically want to sell things that are easy (but possibly tedious) to make/farm and sell for a lot. Sheep leather and wild onions sold for around 100k a stack which isn't a 'lot' but it's decent especially if you're level 30. Also make sure to use the gobbiekey thing and take advantage of the chest, since some of that stuff also sells for a lot.

On the other hand, you want to keep your outgoings as low as possible, so basically live on the BG Wiki to check if you can buy something from the vendor or from the AH, and compare and contrast what's cheaper. For example, for whatever bizarre reason, a bunch of spells vendored for 100k+ and sold on the AH for...10k, which saved me a couple of million in getting all my spells (most of which that I can't even use yet)

So yeah, just find a niche that makes money, live in it until it gets stale/boring and move to another one, make sure to keep up with whatever dailies you can do as well and you'll just slowly make money.

I don't think Asura will ever open again to free creation, its population is far too high and even at half what it is now it's still too high comparatively. If people complain enough they may add a proper RaF system, if you have a very long standing account but I wouldn't even bet on that either.

Not just the RMT, the American multiboxers too. Just skip over Odin and go to Phoenix. Leave it for the JP.

Patch version update to 4.4.3

  • Added show_cursor_target option to the Aggro List section. Highlights the monster in the Aggro List that you currently have targeted.

  • Adjusted the Aggro List to be more consistant in removing monsters when they die.

  • Adjusted the SP Active name and target name cycling to be synced up with the timer again. The previous change to the timer made it more accurate, but the name switching was still based on full clock seconds.

  • Fixed an error on log in when Bars was autoloaded before logging in.

  • Fixed bars showing back up occasionally during zoning after hiding.

  • Fixed Focus Target Debuff Icons staying on screen after zoning away from a Focus Target.

What's the rate of absorption on the WKR elemental capes and do they stack with the Abyssea elemental sachets' damage absorption?
By NynJa on 2025-10-01 12:23:09
Probably as a Shining one WS head

I can only hope if Odin is next to fall, the JP players speak out immediately.
I said this earlier, i dont think RMT will get as much of a strangle hold on Odin because SE is more keen on listening to JP feedback.

I have a feeling that server transfers are 99% used by RMTs and 1% by few hardcore players that server hop for supplies

I always wondered what % of the server transfers are for name-change purposes only. I imagine it's small, but they could add this as a paid feature without the rigamarole of server hops and creating alts to force name collisions.

I've said it before, Phoenix is a hellhole, don't come here.

And thus; all the idiots began pushing Odin as the new Mecca.

Odin is the high Japanese population server, right? So now they're playing a more dangerous game with the community that the devs traditionally actually tend to listen to more? Innnnnnteresting.

That's also what I've found so far. Resistance seems to range from 11 to 15. I've seen 1 or 2 Magic Evasion.

The general outrage of the playerbase is very likely not as big as we think it is.

Maybe this was SE's way to *** what could be the RMT population /shrug

Been clearing out some old stuff and came across something I got a while ago. I just got WAR leveled and geared and was wondering if this is worth anything.

*There's also a native Critical Hit Rate +2 on the mask.

I have a feeling that server transfers are 99% used by RMTs and 1% by few hardcore players that server hop for supplies, and that actual players, including returners, don't really care as they just play with their friends that are all on the same server, while new players are mostly happy to just land anywhere and they'll find a group later eventually. SE probably has better metrics than we do if this was their choice. The general outrage of the playerbase is very likely not as big as we think it is.

And that's absolutely fine. I'm inclined to agree that the higher potency generally had better value, especially when you have the time to recast. for a mage method sortie, using 2 scholars, it makes more sense to use potency vs duration. having just one scholar though, I think the preference would be duration as to not burn strats before skill chaining.

They give price before you select destination, so offering free transfer would likely require overhauling the interface. There's some middle ground in between "Locking servers to force you to pay" and "Doing extra work to save you money at our own expense". They still make plenty off of people who buy gil on Asura(now Bahamut too) to get AH items and transfer to their own server.
By Jinxs on 2025-10-01 09:55:41
I think they should really *** with us and give us not only 18 man content again but give it with a three flavor restriction

Have to beat all three wings or something to challenge the mega boss
1st wing three types of close range damage slashing piercing blunt
2nd wing magic only
3rd ranged only

Mega boss staged version of all three

Force some annoyed job diversity on us

The game population on all servers has been higher at various points.
I don't recall a time when Asura was as high as it was immediately before the lockdown. Obviously, only highest matters much here.

Asura.Iamaman said: »
Congestion in instanced content has been worse than now, too.
Sortie participation is probably at the highest it's been on Asura, since it's a difficult piece of content and people gradually approach the ability to do it while those doing it don't really cap out. It's also an hour long, and you pretty much don't finish early.

The worst I can recall instances performing was during delve era all the way back in 2014. I suspect a large part of the reason we haven't gotten more substantial 18-man content is because of the problems there. Obviously, the amount of data sent goes up exponentially in a larger group since each player needs each other player's actions and position/health changes. Has there been any 18-man instanced content since delve and incursion?

Asura.Iamaman said: »
ome of the infrastructure changes they made a year or so ago is causing load problems that didn't exist on bare metal
Virtualization always has an overhead, so certainly a valid theory. But, it's not like the server never ran up against these problems before. I wouldn't have too hard a time believing that they avoided it this long by just avoiding the most demanding types of content (alliances in instances).

XI has a bare minimum dev team now, Yohi-P simply will not give them enough staff to run the game properly. They are trying to spread the players out more because the game isn't designed to be the way it is, given how few staff they have this is the best you're gonna get. Close servers off from new players that fill up, and hope they move along to the next one. They will close Odin in the next few months I would guess too.
