Gonna bump this. We appear to be getting an influx of merc bots so I guess the Asura effect is real. https://discord.gg/bPycXkE3WF
Almost another 100 new members since my last shameless bump 3 weeks ago. Also, if you do join the discord, check your dm to get access to the entire discord. If you do not receive a dm, send one to me directly or as in a public channel @mod and someone can help you out.

Some time ago I watched a short course of video editing.
Youtuber with enough experience will always feels like flawlessly speaking.
That is the magic of subtle editing: a short video will have multiple cuts that remover breathing, gestures, reduce length, etc.
Its impressive because of youtuber I watched had this thing of constantly blinking. But it just became apparent in his live videos, because obviously those cant have edits. But the video was smoothly, with barely any blink from him.
I say that because Im watching a course right now, and the person teaching takes deep breaths every new paragraph. Nothing wrong here, but once you get used to videos having a fluent and dynamic conversation, hearing the speaker with deep breathes feels like she has some health problem.

Yeah, when I saw the price I was like no way this game is asking for this price.
IMO $20 would be a very favorable price, $30 should be acceptable. Post $40 it gets increasing harder to sell.
If they can polish the combat further to something at least 90% close to AAA action games, make it boss rush type of game, cut the story and cutscenes(that is the part that got criticized the most) and sell for $20 it would have get tons of positive review imo.
... I spend more on a single unit in a gacha than you're willing to pay for a whole game. Like 400$ for a unit.

Its becoming a common theme that these Chinese games have severe optimization issues. It's probably time to just go back to the gacha category.

I don't see how the two are mutually exclusive.
Lots of nerdy IT engineer types that have desk jobs go to the gym every day after their desk jobs.

Lost Soul Aside had 2 reasons for the hype surrounding it:
1- Solo dev!!
2- To spite FFXV, which was announced in 2013 but kept getting delayed till 2016
Those reasons had synergy: SE sucks!! this solo dev is doing better than SE!! His game looks more fun!!
But that was over 10 years ago lol. A lot of things have happened in the gaming industry. Even FF16 was released.
My first impression when I saw it after release: a very tryhard edgy game with no substance. Might turn out to have some merits on its own or might appeal to some, but for now, I don't see anything appealing to me

Puppetmaster. I started this job when it first came out and every one lolpup me. It was new and no one knew how to use it well. So I fell in love with the job because it was just me and my pet hannya.
I started an old adventure of soloing NM pup videos and some ballista to prove to the world ? that pup is not a bad job if used right. Every event and party i was not invited too i solo it all like VNM etc. ( keep in mind this was back 2007 or so when ever the job came out).
I no longer play but I do pop in when free event start to see how things going once in a blue moon.
Hopefully my mission is completed and people started accepting the job.
Here one of my fight back in the day. Iam sure a naked 99 brd can solo any of these now n days but things was different before
https://youtu.be/egLd11V269c?si=XPJKIzXgrWwWT8AMI used to watch your videos back when I used to play. I loved PUP too. I loved any pet job. But PUP felt really unique. Shame that they never gave it any of the love it deserved. They had the AI from trusts, and never backported it. Nothing was more annoying than the WHM auto spamming Cure 6.

Got the Ambuscade Axe made today as like... I'm running out of ones to make.
Better than expected!
Gave it a full dual wield build with Flametongue off hand.
Had a bit of memey fun with it on T3 Behemoth while farming up some beads to hopefully sneak into a full Aeonic clear (for which I'm still torn on which Aeonic to make next... It's like make NIN katana to make NIN worth considering orrrr.... Lockstyle pieces hmmm. Maybe Godhands?).
But yeah, dual wield on Warrior with just Trusts. Low end Retributions were 46kish, high end saw as high as 75335. Most were in the 52~58k range, with a buncha 60kish ones too!
Not Naegling or Savage Blade numbers, but nothing to sneeze at! Probably even better under proper full buffs.

The Lugra earring from UNM...
Its augments are active all the time right, and then you get them on top of its regular Dusk til Dawn effect right?

Okay, the thing with Fenrir is that you get the six-box one-man armies, they just kind of do their thing. You've got your endgame linkshells that are sort of like you need to be the son of a member or save the life of a member to get in. And then there's sort of... everyone else, getting by on scraps.
There's one big open-recruitment linkshell that you can network in which has membership which touches a lot of those endgame shells, and then there a bunch of others where you'll find like five people online at any given time. None of them seem to be running events consistently.
I don't know if we even have linkshells doing Omen any more, seems like all I ever see going in is low-man runs; that and Vagary are basically your entry-level learn-to-endgame events and nobody needs them enough to get a crew together to do them consistently.
Personally, I've reached the point where I'm doing every craft, trying to gear every job, just so I can stumble into something that makes me a valuable enough prospect to keep me on reserve for when one member of a static calls in sick. And that's with trioboxing to get me through the lower-level stuff.
I remember one guy, he got introduced to a Dynamis shell, right off the bat they're like "you need to gear red mage", not long after he was rolling full six-box, and then he just disappeared.

Stats seem appropriate for the jobs that can equip the armor.
I think I would only keep the herc feet aug because the other augs weren't what I wanted either lol

Almost as good as the legendary ones Draylo got!
They add some acc, some att, QA+3% and TA+3%! HAH! Eat that!
Would you use these even without accuracy? I have a similar pair of feet for BRD (3 QA 2 DA) but I always assumed it wasn't something I could swing without a high acc mod. For Chironic feet specifically, it's kinda crazy how low their base melee stats are. They only have 6 DEX.

Mhm. So there's not a single free agent on all of Fenrir? Every single person is in a full 6-man static that never loses a member, and it's impossible to find any other human being to play with because everyone is taken and absolutely no other players ever start there or return?
You're right, it is different from Carbuncle. We get returning players frequently, and it's not at all difficult to join a linkshell, make friends there, then form a group with them. There are lots of returning players and they are grouping up with each other and completing content together.

They're not all like that, but yeah...
Basically the MARE thing popped up after the last big WoW refugee wave, and within a few months, it started to leak into the Roleplaying scene.
At which point people said, "Oh it's ok to not have it. We don't need it. This is about the writing."
Only for those people to become swiftly outnumbered by people who said, "No roleplaying without it."
And you'd think it'd only be in the ERP scene that this happened, but, alas, no.
You'd also think with it having died, that people would have no choice but to go back to the old ways... but also no...
Instead some grubby gavones that were into some Epstein Island type ***made an alternative that was even shadier, and people have started to use that instead. While others are opting to just not "play XIV" at all anymore.
And sadly it's all a consequence of a vertical progression based game.
When a game only adds more stuff to do when there's new, major updates, and nothing has longterm benefits or gameplay altering effects, then you literally run out of content to do.
Now, this debate's raged a bit on the XIV OF, with people claiming that there's always content to do because there's an achievements list. But the gist of the XIV achievements list is, "Complete random *** task #47 30,000 times." or, "Earn 10,000,000 gil through super low gil granting repeatable quests." or "Spawn an invisible treasure chest by standing on it in the randomly generated dungeon 10,000 times without using the in dungeon item that lets you see where to stand!"
And all the achievements do is make an achievement points counter go up, and they haven't added anything to achievement point turn ins since the first time they added those into the game, really.
So it's grinding achievement points to get more acheivement points without any real tangible rewards. It'd be like if one did Sortie, but could never spend their Gallimaufry.

We're telling you. It is.
Things are either being 6-boxed or the little groups are set. And because everything newish is 6 person capped (for most things, insert random nitpick here that you can bring 18 to Omen or something) those groups are already established, just extended out. The 6 person group you do sortie with is also who you do or did Odyssey / Sheol with, they'll be the same people you do Dyna with and probably the same group you'll do Limbus with
