Nah, I'll just eat the pie and die with dignity, like the gypsy suggested.

Would you rather:

Watch The Room, but you can't heckle it. (or any other low budget bad movie that normally produces much laughter from heckling audience)

or

Watch No Country For Old Men amongst a group of the most annoying hecklers and people who talk over the movie you can imagine? (or any other great, dramatic film)

It's not causing the type of problems that deter people from playing or make people quit because their service is disrupted. The restriction/cap is a preventative measure to leave enough overhead that the server doesn't start to tank under the stress.

If we're honest, most of the Asura population is inactive(trade bark, mule, ect), so they wouldn't be contributing to any sort of game instability anyway.

It was a rhetorical question.

You don't have queues because your server isn't full. At least, not full to the point that it's causing any real issues that would impact anyone's ability to play the game. The suggestion of transfers and merges is drastic unless there's at least some data to support that it's even worth the issues it creates, much less the resources required to make it happen.

Shot in the dark, but FFXI polls directinput for both a queue of recent actions *and* a current controller state. I haven't traced which is used for each action, but I'd bet:

  • Your controller stick *actions* are bogging down the queue (ffxi only polls 16 per frame and dualsense can send more than that)

  • FFXI is reading the state for joystick direction for motion

  • FFXI is reading the queue for button presses, so it has to catch up to actuate them

Potential solutions would be to use DS4Windows or something else to map to xinput or raise/uncap framerate

may also be fixed on Ashita4(my controller hook pulls 64 per frame, discards stick input in dead zone, and gives ffxi 16 so it doesn't bog down as quickly)

I saw this weeks ago and forgot to reply and just remembered.

I've really wanted to use a Dualshock 4 or a Dualsense. I've never tried the Dualsense, but DS4 had lots of problems with missed inputs and input lag. I imagine Dualsense is the same. I managed to replicate the issue by spinning both sticks in all directions while simultaneously pressing buttons. It seems that if you overload it with inputs, it starts to miss them or delays them. Thorny's response seems spot on.

I have not tried a wrapper recently. I did when Dualshock 4 first came out and they were not great. Had issues with double inputs.

I will have to try Ashita and see if that helps. I'm probably in the minority, but I really prefer the Sony controllers over Xbox. I'm stuck using Dualshock 3 with official drivers. Sony doesn't even keep the drivers for download on the Playstation website anymore.

Thorny, what controller do you use? Do you know why this is not an issue with other controllers?

Damn, Prime cancelled Motorheads after the first season. It was just a teen drama that featured street racing. High audience completion rate, whoever started it watched the whole season. Because duh, the kids are restoring a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T in Banana Yellow to race it. Who is gonna quit before they see that beauty in action? Prime is just cancelling everything this year.

Derailing is a sin as laid down in the commandments on the rules page, so people who don't follow up with a question.

Ok you have just eaten a slice of the pie from thinner except to get cured you must either

Have someone you know and like eat a slice and be come cursed.

Or

You must have 100 people eat a slice and become cursed.

White Mage, because it's difficult these days to find an MMO where healers actually spend most of their cognitive resources healing/buffing. It's useful in a ton of content, necessary in some as well, and an excellent safety net that rewards forethought. Aside from Yagrush, is pretty inexpensive to gear properly too.

Warrior, because it exemplifies FFXI's "right tool for the job" design-- certainly effective at throwing out savage blades, but equipped to explore more effective options to suit the content and group. Lots of options to play with. Rarely feels like a waste to collect a new REMA for it.

How long are you waiting in a queue to login to your character on Asura?

In any case, I hope I'm never that poor to have to accept being in this situation.. eating regenerating leftovers doesn't sound too appealing to me

I've got both and have been playing around with them in Dyna-D with DNC sub.

Maxentius Black Halo pulls ahead, pound-for-pound. R15 Mjoll is great for W3 boss to prevent walling though, since you're throwing Randgriths out at 1k TP you can just get a steady roll of about 20-25k hits.

The really nice thing about R15 Mjollnir is being able to cap the Cure Potency I category in a midcast set super easily without losing TP. There are other ways to do it, we actually have a lot of effective options for MH/OH combos, but Mjoll doesn't make us choose between physical stats and cure potency.

Yeah, I would think the 5digits sounds reasonable.

Roflmao

Yeah sorry I'm not sure how to fix it without making the pattern matching a lot more complicated, which I'm not too happy to do. Guess the second best solution is to need a number to be at least 5 digits - 2000 doesn't need much in the way of separators to be legible after all.

I'll mull on it for a bit, if someone has better ideas lemme know.

Longer way to say matter converter

What you wanted to ask is matter converters, or matter replicators, not 3D printers.

There's 3D printers of the "mash it up and squirt it out" type then there's hypothetical atomic level 3D printers that spit out atoms and arrange them exactly as you want them.

Ideally closer to the latter.

humanity
In the end, if this one single magical chimichanga has such great value, humans will just go to war over it. Fortune for some, misfortune for many.
By . on 2025-08-31 12:40:21
It's not what the chimichanga can do for you, it's what the chimichanga can do for humanity.

Is there any particular reason to use Onslaught at 1000tp on /nin? It looks like it's almost as good as Calamity at 1750. Plus self SC

Pretty much this. It's consistently competitive and puts out reasonable damage, it's the Kikoku question just with BST instead. I prefer double Onslaught when making SC, because most of BST other options with Axe use some horrible WS as a linker.

Love to see the logic for Pyrrhic Kleos additional effects being extra dmg when capped acc is so damned prevalent now.

We have 3D food printing right now. It isn't that good yet. Indeed it is quite limited, expensive, and so far strictly experimental.

What if you use it an an ingredient in another dish does its regenerative properties transfer to the whole of the new dish? Then you can change it up

Per intent of the question, I assume it's just a chimichanga that can't be disassembled, shared, etc.. just eaten by you. In that case, I'd probably end up throwing it out to remove the temptation after a few drunken 3000 calorie mistakes.

They should just bump that up to 30% Haste. 25% is awkward and makes using Vickie less useful for that reason alone.

If there were more cases of frequent slow id call it a pretty great buff, already gives you mdb+25/counter/guard+25 and it being 5% worse than the haste II would be a fine trade off. May see some use cases in limbus NMs, maybe. But for now best use case i think is something like kei(which a lot of jobs have enough meva to make the spikes enslow somewhat infrequent already)

Dragoon

Dragoon has and always will be my favourite job. It was the entire reason I got the game. I was showing my GF FF12 and remembered about "oh that online one had the monsters up all the time, it wasnt random encounters" So I looked up FF11 and did some research and stumbled across DRG. As soon as I saw you get a pet dragon, I was all in. Went out and bought the game. This was just around the time when WoTG came out, so missed the loldrg stage... but always seen as a "late to the party" player as it was 2008. My first Relic and first Mythic were both DRG weapons. It may not put out the numbers like my DRK does but its a lot more fun.

I Miss DRG burn parties.

Paladin

Sword and Shield will always look cool. Doesnt matter what the game is. Burtgang was my second mythic. I always like being front line, so PLD was always going to be on the table.
