Sometimes its kinda harmful picking those art videos on youtube. Because being an youtuber means you have more interest in entertain than producing an art.

Ive been watching pixel art lessons for about 20 days, and I can definitively see my pixel draws suck.

(Even more because I feel like the guy teaching it keeps saying “have fun, have fun” and maybe its a password for not teaching how to do the “right” thing).

I see some gorgeous arts, but the artist says: “Im doing pixel art for 3+ years”, so you can understand why that person is good.

But then, a guy appears saying nonchalantly: “I need to learn pixel art, I know nothing but I only got 4 days”.

Then the day one, he starts off by knowing how to use Asesprite, he draw a good cup, uses a good color composition, uses some dithering, some principles of light and shadows, draw a good beer cup then snubs: “I wouldnt ever use it in my project”. Then proceeds to draw more two bottles that are very good, and he says: “ok, this is grade B”. For supposelly the third try of the first day of doing pixel art.

Then the second day he proceeds to do animation…

Maybe Im just being salty, because if dude is legit, either he is a massive genius for doing something in 1 day that I cant even get close after about 20, or maybe Im just a really slow learner.

Either way, this type of video is just toxic for someone learning. Either you are wasting your time with a guy full of ***, or you are having a very negative feedback

Can you please explain if/how being on dev branch impacts plugins/addons sourced from launcher and how reverting back to stable won't cause any issues?

When you switch to the development branch, all the addons and plugins installed from the launcher will update to the respective development version as well. Addons and plugins that are not from the launcher, however, will not, and those may fail, if they rely on something we changed between versions. Knowing which plugins and addons fail with the development version is also useful for us, and would be part of the testing we ask for here.

Switching back to the stable version will, likewise, switch all addons and plugins back to their stable versions as well.

Do note, however, that any changes you made to Lua code of addons from the launcher will also be overwritten, if those files have changed between the stable and development version. This only affects actual addon code though, not user files, like addon settings or GearSwap user files. Those will not be touched. And only if that particular file has changed between the stable and development branch.

Try:

Copy the modded 51.dat file from the zip to the install location of rom/119/51.dat

drag that into texhammer, change only menu gauge to something else (the macro folder), then hit save.

drag it back into texhammer after you save, to make sure it shows that changed image

now boot the game, it should show it if it's in the correct place

make sure you don't have a second install location, or are putting it into a xipivot folder

It should work fine.

I'm sure it may have been brought up when the dynamis shared instances initially dropped... but last night was the first time I did one where some other players did actually show up (I haven't gone much myself). Is it pretty normal to see wierd mob behavior there? My pal and I were several pathways into Dyna-Windy, and when we spawned mobs off a statue we saw them go sprinting off towards the entrance of the zone (a solo THF had entered after us). This happened for a good few statues, but eventually it stopped as we got farther in.
I've been trying to do dyna daily since it opened up and last Saturday was the first and only time I've seen this happen. I was solo and so was another player. They grabbed the first statue & when I popped the second, 2 out of the 4 mobs that spawned went after them. Happened a few more times during the run. This was Bastok. No idea how/why it happened.

FWIW, I've experienced this many times in the instanced version of dynamis d. The tank pulls a statue and the mobs it spawns will randomly pick a different target and go try to murder them instead, ignoring the tank entirely

No 57.dat is buffs (when you use a skill it shows the icons on the buff list from this file)

51.dat is just the pure UI files, any image changes you make there will show up if it's in the correct place and saved (and you need to close and restart).

The nameplate font will look the same btw, it's just hi-res. Also it doesn't work with xipivot. You can see if it's loaded, the gil icon is high res coin.

Yeah it seems that it's not working for some reason. The name text is still not HD. Easy to tell it's not changing it when the bazaar bag is the vanilla one, and the master stars are also not different.

It's strange as I'm definitely changing the right location, because if I do your version of the dat it changes things, but if I do the version I saved with just the font font and master stars/icons changed, it doesn't. I'm not sure what else to try :(

We pushed some more updates to the development branch. A bunch of fixes for current issues on the stable branch, as well as fixes for previous issues of the dev branch, which we had to revert. The packet loss people have been experiencing should be gone now, and initial testing by some of our members and helpers has been very positive, but we'd appreciate some more community testing for a day or two. If we don't get any complaints by Saturday morning, I plan to push these changes to the stable branch.

If you want to help test the changes, do the following:
1. Shut down all POL and Windower instances.
2. Open the `Windower/settings.xml` file and change the line that reads `<branch>stable</branch>` to `<branch>dev</branch>`.
3. Start Windower normally and log into all your characters.
4. Play normally and see if everything works as expected.

If you encounter any issues, feel free to report it in here or on our Discord server.

If you want to switch back to the stable branch, either simply repeat the steps above, except reverse step 2, or alternatively, open Windower, click the new `Branch` tab at the top, and click the button there to switch back to the stable branch.

Appreciate any help in testing this. We do try to test things internally, but we only use a fraction of all available addons, and do only a fraction of the available content in-game, so we obviously miss things sometimes.

That fixed it for me, I was originally just putting it in the XIPivot folder.

Thank you!

Are there any new items this update? BG hasn't been updated and no form post yet
Badrod, Marjory's Thesis, Trust Tome off the top of my head. If you're asking about items that are now in the DATs which are not yet obtainable, that would have to be answered by someone with the ability/knowledge to compare versions to see what is new.

I am having troubles with getting the macro images, linkshell images, etc. to be more HD. I have the login menu having titan and the other characters just fine. It's the rest of the game that still looks vanilla.
I have downloaded the B folder and added the 0 and 119 folders to the ROM folder in the game files. FFXI > Rom > 0 and 119. Is there something that I am missing outside of that?
I originally followed NextGame's tutorial on it - and has since tried to put back in the files for the 51.dat and 50.dat files as well to get it back to the HD look - still nothing.

Make sure you restart the game, also they don't work from xipivot folders.

Also if you installed from zip B you also need folder 280/15.dat and 324/95.dat (magic/JA/mount menu icons)

"if you have nothing to hide, what's the problem with random id checks on the street"

You have yet to explain how Dodik420x@yahoo.com, or Outlook as shown earlier, is doxing you.

Please don't pretend you don't have a yahoo/gmail/outlook/etc email address that isn't your private/personal email address.

BG isn't the only website that blacklists anon email hosts, and you would have had or will have this issue somewhere else.

Thanks, just reverted back to original then installed B in both locations. Menu icons are still just vanilla icons (icon 2) with a bigger menu.

The wiki would get more updates, if a sub-forum or thread was made where people can get the information needed and someone else who is comfortable making the edits on the wiki itself can then just put them in. People can ask for information then there too.

It's easier to input stuff than get all the information needed and also input it too.

Blocking fly-by-night anon email services is the lowest security bar to potentially block spammers/bots

Blocking anonymous email services is the easiest way to not have anyone want to use your website.

Case in point. All the victim blaming sure makes me want to jump through hoops just to use your site, let me tell you.

Wikis thrive on many users giving small contributions. Again, the contributor doesn't gain anything from it.

Imagine running a charity collection and IDing everyone who wants to put their pocket change into your bucket. How many folks are gonna start digging out their ID instead of walking away with their coins?

Hello, I am using your A zip condensed 3 and everything is displaying correctly except for the chat log background / abilities/spells. The abilities/magic icons are all the original icons with icon 2 selected in the config menu inside the game. The buff icons at the top are correct however and are their previous HD versions. It's just the menu abilities etc. that won't change. I am using XIpivot and my question is do these files need to be changed in that ROM directory as well as the FF game directory? I also tried reverting back to original and then installing B zip condensed 3 and it's just a bigger vanilla icon 2 menu. FFXI config settings are all maxed minus fonts are set to low quality. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

To be fair, Nynja, if there are some folks that can't get through the very difficult sign-up process, perhaps it makes for a good litmus test filtering out those who shouldn't be editing it anyway.

make sure you're in the correct folder, it's rom/119/51.dat

Yep, it's definitely the right folder/dat.

Does 57 also interact with fonts for names, do I need to do anything with that? I notice that you have it in your 119 folder changes, though if I drag it into Tex Hammer it doesn't show anything.
